Hello everyone i Am new here and fairly new to lyme
I havent been diagnosed yet due to finances but am persuing it. Not much longer and i will.
In the meantime i have been doing alot of reading and researching. I wanted to share some info that i have not seen posted here.
Im hoping it may help others as well as get input on how reliable yall find it to be.
The first book is The top ten lyme disease treatments Author Bryan Rosner.
My wife and i found it very thorough and encouraging. It helped me to fully understand what may be going on in my body.
I plan to base my treatment off of this book and the info in it once diagnosed.
The other is The Salt/C Plus Protocol For Lyme Infection Authgor M. Fett This one i am only part way through.
It is a very specific plan for the salt/c protocol and provides links to all items you need to get started and continue on the protocol.Something i find very useful especially in my current lack of comprehension and constant brain fog episodes.
If anyone is familiar with these books and find them to be reliable let me know. as i said i am new and need confirmation i am heading in the right direction and not being led astray.
Also is anyone familiar with the Lyme Project.com? My plan is to be able see him within the next month. He seems to really have a grasp on Lyme.

Oh sure, there may be benefits, but it's not going to cure you.
If you'd like, give me the titles of the chapters. I can't put my hands on my copy right now. Not sure where it is so I really can't give an opinion. I read it a long time ago.

Lyme is evolving. The microbes and the treatments.
Rosner's book is out-of-date. He's very bright, and understands Lyme, but his info is outdated.
That said, some find benefit from parts of his protocol.
You need to be very body-aware to do Salt/C. It is not a cure-all, and can be dangerous to your kidneys.

Boxermom, As a Newbie, what Insane Migraine posted is the most frustrating thing for me too. Not knowing where to begin? What is the most current research and protocols? And how do you find it on here? Or anywhere? If Rosner is outdated, what do you recommend?
Is there really no definitive plan since Dr. B's in 2008? I find that the most helpful to see if my Dr. is on target... but it's almost 4 years old.
What is good and what is just Crazy?
I know most on here are not doctors and may be fearful to recommend things too strongly.
I know everyone is different and there are a lot of strains and co-infections,and therefore everyone's treatment is different-- but everyone has to start somewhere. And some are not Web Savvy. And I bet many of us are not medical or science Savvy. so searching for things thay layman can understand.

One good way to start is by posting in Seeking a Doctor, this will get you a doctors info from your state that people trust.
I would consider myself health conscious and have a degree of intelligence, but this all is still difficult to understand and overwhelming to adapt to the lifestyle change.
Having a trusted and knowledgable LLMD will give you access to the latest research and treatment through your doc. I don't know how other docs operate, but mine will thoroughly explain things to me and answer any questions I have.
So far everything she has said and done has proved correct and effective. Trust me, with all the supplements and other things that go along with the abx it has been a financial strain.
It has also been totally worth it to get our life back and our marriage where it was, actually stronger after going through this and some other recent events together.
Start with getting yourself in with a good LLMD, it is a smart move to begin taking necessary supplements and pre biotics until you get to that point.
As others have said search through the forums and you'll find a wealth of information regarding supplements and such to get you started.
Good luck on beginning your road to recovery.

Read all you can ... especially on this site. We have tons of links in each forum... that's why the "stickies" are there. Very important information.
Dr B's guidelines are still the standard .. even 3 yrs later. Read them over and over. His guidelines are posted at the top of Medical .. I believe it's the first thread.

Rosner is a real estate agent turned health writer. In other words, no medical credentials. If your are comfortable with this, then you can use his book to guide your treatment.

I cant give this enough time right now for a proper response but to Lou. Rosner is a journalist and a lyme patient and that is how the book came about. It is his story and experience of how he treated himself and what worked for him and what didnt. It clearly states that nothing by itself worked it took many thing and nearly killed him doing so. He has gathered the info together in one place to make it easier for the rest of us as a guideline or direction to go in.
I dont know who to put my stock in just yet but i do know i am gonna be my greatest treater and my family will be my support. From what ive read thus far the medical dr is a small part of the overall treatment of Lyme because there is no one thing that works for any of us.
