After being sick for a total of 10 years and treating the last 2 I finally started having more good days than bad.

After a few months of mostly good days and the days not so good not as severe as they once were my llmd took me off abx and anti malarials.

its been 26 days without the abx and mepron. I still have been on cowden and white herbs and he added nystatin.

He called this my trial phase. If I continued to do well off the meds and on the herbs he would keep that regimen for a 2-4 more months and then try taking me off everything and see how I do.

So most of the 26 days I have felt really good. One time about 5 days into removing the meds my neck got very stiff and I had a bad headache. I thought oh no its not done yet.

I did slept mostly for 2 days and did a 2 day juice fast. After 2 days I was back to feeling good again. Had a really good run of feeling good many days again. About 21 days.

I decided I wanted to have a good detox after the years of meds. Over the weekend I did a 2 day juice fast again. I juiced spinach, kale, chard, broccoli , parsley, apple and carrot.

I went back to my normal diet on Monday. I felt a little off Monday night and Tues. I felt a little dizzy and a little pressure in my head.

Today I attended a beginners yoga class. Halfway through the class I was exhausted, shaky and very lightheaded.

After dinner I got very nauseous and then started having a off and on stabbing pain below my right rib. I also got light headed again.

UGH! It made me realize that I need to take things more slowly. I don't know that this isnt lyme or babs but my intuition is more that it is my body is weak from 10 years of being ill and 2 years of treatment and doing a juice fast and yoga was too much too quick.

I do have a question but mainly just needed to say all that. I have been so excited about the way I was feeling that this week has made me sad I still am not where I want to be but also added in some fear of having to go back on the meds.

Does anyone know if yoga is considered ok for people with lyme? I know what dr. B says about aerobic exercise. I thought yoga would more stretching, building back my core, and breathing more deeply.

10 min into the class I was sweating really bad and my heart although not racing was beating pretty good.

25 min in i had to quit. was so light headed and weak.

11 years ago I was playing soccer and was a tri-athlete. One of the things I have looked so forward to as I heal is to be active physically. I know that time will come but I think I need to slow down.

Sorry for the long post but thanks for reading.

I have had my blood sugar levels tested many times and its always been ok. But I agree the symptoms seem like it could be that.

I ate some watermelon and some chicken and veggies for dinner last night and although things did get a little better I still felt bad and the headache got worse.

Woke up this morning still feeling the same. I am expecting a call from my llmd's office this morning to discuss this.

llmd doesn't think its a flare or relapse. Yay!!

He thinks doing the juice fast and then the yoga was too much too soon and messed up my blood sugar.

He wants me doing those things but just not yet.

So for now not going back on the abx which makes me very happy. I just hope I get back to those good feeling days soon.

Stay away from sugars and sugary fruit. Stick with fruit that contains a lot of fiber, like apples.

Hope you are on your way to a wonderful life!! [Smile]

Please let us know how you are doing over the next few days, ok?

From what I've read about juice fasts, you can feel kind of crummy the first couple of days. It *is* a detox. I just watched the movie FAT SICK AND NEARLY DEAD which is about juicing, and the people in the documentary felt bad the first couple of days of the fast.

You can maybe do juice for one meal a day, or as a supplement; it might still help!

(I just had my lunch of a smoothie made with an avocado, parsley, coconut juice, and a banana for the purposes of immune support)

Be well!
Susie

When you do a juice fast, you're also cutting out most of your protein and fat, which affects your brain function. Glad you're feeling so good. Take it slow. I've never been a runner, but I keep telling people that once I can walk/run again, I'm gonna be like Forrest and just never wanna stop. It's gonna feel so good to run or do yoga someday.

n2themystic, So glad that you are feeling much better overall. Hold onto that. And picture yourself soccer player and tri-athlete. WOW! That's awesome.

Just because one day or a few days we are not feeling as well as on other days, we should refrain from jumping to conclusions.

After all, "healthy" people have days when they don't feel as well as on other days.

In addition, if a "healthy" person goes on a fast of some kind, or detox program, or even an exercise or yoga program...they are informed of possible "side effects"...feeling flu-like as the toxins release from the body.

That makes me wonder...Do you do any regular detoxing? Such as

Dry Skin Brushing

Epsom Salt/Hydrogen Peroxide Detox Bath

Let me know if you'd like info on that...I'll be sure to add some links.

Even "healthy" people detox just because our world is so toxic...the air we breathe, water we drink, and food we eat.

Sounds like you are well on your way to wellness!

Avoid yikes mode (it's not healthy for us). Think happy thoughts.

God bless you.

PS: In the last year or so I've noticed that quite a few LLMDs/LLNDs are adding to their guidelines to continue treatment from two to four months after symptom free.
