Usually it's me seeing Lyme everywhere but this is not my imagination. At the US Open on air now they first mentioned that Samantha Stosur battled Lyme Disease and was out for a couple of years then an IBM commercial for a computer named Watson which can help diagnose diseases shows that Lyme Disease is the diagnosis!!

Samantha Won! I guess she got the right treatment. Now she just should tell Venus to get checked.

IBM was founded in my hometown and my youngest son goes to TJ Watson elementary. That's awesome that Watson is able to diagnose Lyme! I think Watson kicked butt on Jeopardy, too!

I wish they would talk about all Sam Stosur has been through to come back and win the U.S. Open! I know Serena was in dire straits with blood clots in the lung, and I am awed that both of these women came back so strongly.

Again, no one seems to understand how serious Lyme can be - I mean, it took Stosur 2 YEARS to come back. I am glad the Lyme was mentioned at the beginning of the match.

I was just reading a bit about Stosur's story. It seems she was very ill with meningitis and exhaustion. I want to know how she put it in remission. She looks very strong and healthy tonight.

I love Samantha Stosur. A great tennis player, beautiful young lady and she beat Lyme!

Go Sam

I wonder if there is some way a "formal" Lyme association (like this one?) could ask her to talk about her battle with Lyme? It could be so great on so many levels...

Sam Stosur is my hero. I have admired her tennis skills for awhile now. I was rooting for her the entire way of the US Open! Plus she is classy and has great sportsmanship unlike some other tennis player... ahem.

They did mention she had battled lyme disease a few years ago. I remember when I was thinking I might have lyme (it was last summer) I heard of her history and had no clue about anything about lyme disease and it's complications. I remember asking my boyfriend how could it take a year to get better (I think that is what they said it took her to get better) and I remember he goes, well it must be the Doxy! She had to stay out of the sun! I go, yes that must be it.

Little did I know about lyme. I hope she got rid of it 100% and judging by her stellar performance today I should think so!

I want to know how she got better too!

She was on Regis and Kelly this morning and said she was sick with Lyme for about 10 months. That was a fast recovery. She must have discovered it early to get well that fast.

That gal has some great muscular arms on her !!
