Hello |

Im new to the site. My whole family has chronic lyme (my wife and I and all 4 of our children)

I have been doing as much research as I can lately and purchased "The Top 10 Lyme Disease Treatments" In that book the section on the Marshall Protocol continuously directs you the the www.marshallprotocol.com" site for specific information. I tried going to the site but it isnt accepting new registrations.

Is there a complete description and set of instructions available anywhere else that I can access? I'm thinking about using this protocol but do not have enough information

Thanks in advance

Phil

Unless you have excess vitamin D, you would not be a candidate for this protocol.

It can be very harsh and it does not consider all the tick-borne infections.

The use of benicar with it can be problematic.

Also with the MP, supplements are not allowed. For good liver support, vital to lyme treatment, supplements are most helpful.

The MP has to be followed to the letter. No variations at all (or then it's just not the MP).

Most lyme patients require flexibility in treatment methods.

A similar protocol, though, that has helped some and does not require avoiding Vitamin D or the use of benicar is

www.roadback.org

The Road Back Foundation
------------

I studied both at length years ago and, if the choice had to be one or the other, I would go with The Road Back.

But, again, that is a mono therapy. Combination treatment is usually best for lyme and other TBD (tick borne disease).

Do you have a LLMD to advise you and your family? It's really best to find one who is ILADS-educated or an ILADS member.

While I thought Rosner's Rife book was excellent, I was very disappointed in his second book, "The Top 10 Lyme Disease Treatments" - but not every book is going to the end-all, be-all. But it could have been many volumes and still not totally inclusive.

As you said you are studying all methods, you might want to scroll down to the various books and articles here by many LL MD and LL NDs. Many protocols are included:

How to find an ILADS-educated naturopathic doctor or other holistic minded LL doctor.

RIFE machine links also here. You might be very interested in RIFE.

BUHNER's book "Healing Lyme" and Rosner's RIFE book, are two books I suggest first.

But, still, I hope you've been able or will be able to find a good LL doctor who has done the research, has experience and is already way up to speed.

I also want to say how sorry I am that lyme has so greatly affected you and your family. What stress that must put on you and how brave you are to want to learn all you can.

Wonder if you've read Pam Weintraub's "Cure Unknown" as that details how lyme affected her whole family, too. Reading how she worked through all that may be of support to you.

Some excellent articles were in this journal a few years ago. The author (JC Waterhouse or some similar name) saw success with it and detailed her long journey:

Townsend Letter Search: Marshall Protocol

(Once you find the article name, you might find full text by a Google search of that name as not all articles from Townsend can be linked from their site).

I would not choose the Mp because it advocates denying the body VIT D in adequate levels for good health, which seems dangerous as D affects many key hormones , bones, and esp the immune system.

I have found these two herbs very helpful :
grapefruit seed extract and artemesia annua. These are affordable and safe in general, until you come up with a game plan. I use artemesia annua from Herb Pharm , and nutribiotic GSE .

Others here have also found these helpful . Stephen Buhner's book is great and rife is a good investment also . It has helped me.

Do your research regarding the Marshall Protocol. It is indicated for very specific conditions. It can make people very, very sick.

Restriction of Vitamin D can cause all kinds of problems.

I don't know anyone who has recovered from Lyme disease by using the Marshall protocol.

Wow, great information and feedback. Thank you all so much. I will continue to learn and figure out what is best for my family. We do have llmds (one for the adults and one for the children) but after my initial investigation the LLMD my wife and I are using seems focused only on the antibiotic approach. He had helped us quite a bit and my wife in particular is much better than she was but we are still affected by the disease and I'd like to find a way to get the last few miles to full recovery (if possible)

Thanks again for all the feedback

Phil
