A year ago today I was laying in a hospital bed,,,begging for more morphine than the legal limit to dull the pain,,which it didnt do well enough.

I am no whimp and can take alot of pain,,,but dang that hurt. Hurt almost as bad to see 5 rods sticking out of what used to be my good foot./leg.

Couple screwed into my shin bone,,one clear thru the ankle area and two connecting the ankle rod each side with shin rods.

It was a beaut, but made sleeping difficult,,one position with foot higher than me.

Doc said it is tore up something fierce,,never saw anything like that. You probably wont walk on that leg again,,,and if you do it will be all different, funny and limpy.

Lost 25 pounds in 25 days while trying to heal. Kept at it losing some weight. Now down from then about 70 pounds.

It has let me know last couple cold wet days it is still there,,but limp only after working pounding concrete and ladder standing today for like 12 hours.

It has changed seasons here, leaves are mostly gone and blowing around, always windy, and its darn cold.

what a difference a year makes,,I am better than I used to be,still--just don--

So happy for you !! The pain must have been excruciating, and here you are one year later, climbing up ladders!

May the Lord bless you with continued healing.

During one of my many fun trips to the Hospital Hotel I was soooo sick, the nurses couldn't be found, doc was MIA....

I looked at my friend and I said, if you REALLY love me you would take me home now.

Ofcourse she couldn't do that and it wasn't a good idea, but I was desperate!!

We laugh about it now...

Beautiful you! Glad to hear you can look back on it and be ok... at least as much as possible. I remember the pain you describe. I feel it again as I hurt for you a year ago.

Sorry the cold is kicking you in the leg and elsewhere right now. Wanna take a trip to Costa Rica? I do!

If it were a free trip I'd be there this minute. Maybe YOU should go? It feels so good to escape the cold here. Bet you'd love it.

Keep healing and dealing Just Don!
