I have to ask, has there been any progress in the last thirty years?
From where I sit, the scene hasn't changed.
Patients being ignored, patients infighting, doctors being attacked, and people taking advantage of us.
To me it is like being in one of those movies where a killer is stalking someone and no one believes the person.

I believe around 6 states have doctor protection legislation now - obviously, the rest need to work on this -
And research is being done - not fast enough, in my opinion, but some - including possibly an accurate culture test for Lyme.
I think there is more general awareness happening, thanks also to the Lyme film "Under Our Skin."
And lots more support groups, conferences, educational programs and informative websites, and don't forget the Lyme Times, published quarterly by www.LymeDisease.org, which comes with a subscription.
So, yes, I'd say there's been some change - and keep making it happen where you are - each one, reach one, as we say - keep educating about it.
