Okay so let me start with my back story. I was bit by a tick in April of 2009. I was diagnosed with Lyme in early Oct. of that same year. Since then I have been fighting Lyme with two different doctors. The doctor I'm currently with, has really saved my life. Seriously.

I was on IV ABX for a year and a month. I am now currently on oral abx and various supplements. A few months ago I was doing worlds better. I was able to dance at my cousin's wedding and go on mini-vacations. I was starting to have a bit of a social life and really feel like I could live a normal life again! I actually saw a future.

I've stayed really positive throughout this whole affair, but the past month I've started to backslide. I'm experiencing the anxiety issues again. I'm back on Valium and Ketamine for pain and anxiety. On top of that, I'm experiencing seizure like symptoms again. Something will trigger me and all of a sudden I'll be sort of frozen but also convulsing? I'll be slamming my hand against the door and not know it.

I stutter, and I sometimes find myself "frozen". Where I can't move my hand while holding something, or I suddenly can't continue walking. limbs will start shaking for no reason.

I'm discouraged. I am still worlds better than I was, but is this permanent? Am I relapsing? I will see my doctor in a week or so, but I feel like a collosal failure because I can't work or do any of the other stuff I did just a few months ago. Granted they weren't huge by the rest of the world, but huge to me.

I guess I need to know if this is normal in Lyme?

You are normal. Don't adjust your TV screen. You are normal.

And welcome to LymeNet!

I've already turned into a pumpkin, so I won't go into much detail other than to say what is happening could be a relapse and this is not uncommon.

The good part is, you have been through this and know the routine. AND know you CAN get better.

So don't let anyone make you think you are crazy! This does happen.

Just take a look at the picture here. We are so use to being told by idiot doctors that we are nuts when we get sick again, it is not even shocking anymore.

Feel better soon!

I agree 100% with Tincup. You can get better.

I lose words, stumble over words or say wrong words. Most of the time it is just embarrassing.

You are not a failure!

Thank you so much both of you! That picture totally cheered me up!

I will keep pushing forward and laugh at the little things I can't control. A smile changes my day!
