UGH!

Sick for 10 years, the first few were rough. The next few I struggled but was able to function! Now, I've hit rock bottom! Finally found Lyme & started treatment 2 months ago. But why suddenly so much worse?

I wonder if there's something more. I mean, with Lyme I'd have pain and fatigue but this is SO much more!

I feel like my body is lacking the oxygen it needs to function.... SO! weak, dizzy, light~headed. Feel like collapsing or passing out if I move to fast (that's at a slooooww speed too, since my arm/legs just won't do what my mind tells them to.)

Out of breath, as if I ran many miles, over doing practically nothing (since I really can't do much)?!

I can only see my LLMD so often, now she's had to take a break due to her own health issues. Any regular MD ive found can't help me! Nothings wrong with me ya know~ then why does it feel like Im seriously dying!

Im stuck in bed, questions, miserable~ no one can help! No one around here understands... not even the doctors that are supposed to help.

Had to quit my job. medical bills stacking up. My husband is sick of me/this. im too sick to be a good mom.

I want my life back! I hate living this way! =C

our medical system has truly failed us. take comfort in the fact that you aren't the only one. people do get better. most people are in this forum because they are in the exact same boat as you including myself. i'm a 33 year old former athlete/runner, now almost completely bedridden with your same symptoms.

Look into mold. Many of the symptoms are similar to Lyme symptoms, but the treatment is much different.

Give antibiotics to someone with mold and it can be detrimental.

The easiest (and least expensive) way to test for mold is to leave your home and take nothing with you. If you take clothes, stop at a laundromat and wash them in 1-2 cups of ammonia, no detergent. The ammonia kills the mold and neutralizes the mycotoxins. Put the clothes in NEW BAGS that did not come from your home... and go to a safe, clean place. NO mold.

This is what worked for us. My son was very sick. He has Lyme plus mold plus heavy metals. Getting away from the mold allowed him to start getting better.

May health be with you!

Toxic mold was suppressing our immune systems, causing extreme pain, brain fog and magnifying symptoms. Four days after moving out, the healing began.

You are herxing.. that is why you feel worse.

It's really difficult to go thru treatment due to the herxing. It can get miserable. Be sure to detox while on antibiotics. It will help.

Will your LLMD continue to prescribe for you?

Some of your symptoms sound like you could also have babesia. Tis coinfection is very similar to malaria and requires malaria and parasite drugs -- antibiotics don't work on babesia. Many people have both lyme and babesia plus other coinfections from ticks. Need to treat all known infections to get better. Symptoms of the coinfections often overlap but over time it gets easier to sort out which symptoms are from which infection and when to change drugs to treat the different infections.

In the beginning just treating lyme or just one coinfection is all most people can tolerate without getting so sick they can't function. The longer you have been sick the higher your germ load and the worse the herx reaction.

Actually feeling worse is a good sign -- means the drugs are working.

Hang in there.

my LLMD said right away that she suspected babesia (even though the igenex co-infection test didnt find it.. it only found annaplasmosis).

I am only on doxy for the Lyme & anna. Said we'd maybe look at working on the other later?

This is SO new to me, I cant really tell a 'flare' from a 'herx." How do I know the difference?

I felt like this in the past before being treated... so maybe it is babesia just rearing it's ugly head and not a lyme herx? I just dont know!?

Supposedly my LLMD will be having a nurse call me to check on me & see where we can go from here (since my appointment this week needed to be canceled, and LLMD is not taking new appointments as of yet).

Other symptoms suddenly popped up that I've never had before and are really scaring me:

I twitch ALL the time involuntarily, my whole body. My hands don't work well and shake when I try to use them. (have had to retype & fix many errors in this reply)

My arms/legs feel like they are "asleep" (as if I sat wrong, or slept on them wrong and cut off all the 'circulation'). Its a struggle to get them to do what I want!

Saw my regular MD yesterday~ she believes me on the Lyme/co's but doesn't know what to do/how to help.

Should I see a neurologist? What's happening to me?

scared!

Oh, and what do I do to 'detox?" and can i do something 'affordably?" (I can't afford the bills Ive got).

Im certain mold is NOT an issue. I live in a fairly new home~ nothing damp, old or wet anywhere.

I am trying to stay away from toxins of some types. Switched all my household cleaning supplies to organic/all natural (theives oil, myers soaps, etc) and I'm trying to eat gluten free and as organic and I can afford/find. Thought if my body is not working on the ish I put in it, it be more free to work on the icky bacterias.

So overwhelmed!

Thanks!
