Hello! I am new to Lymenet. I have Lyme and co's and was diagnosed in August 2011. Doc's think I have had it for maybe 20 years. Didn't get bad until October of 2010. Went to 17 docs and was diagnosed by a friend of a friend!

My daughter is 15 and was just diagnosed too, about a month ago. She was always an all "A" student and was in honors classes. However, this year her grades have fallen markedly, she sleeps for hours when she gets home from school, her joints hurt and she is starting with some neuro symptoms.

My question is this. Does anyone have any advice about how to deal with school? I feel like I should have a meeting with a principal or a counselor and let them know she has this debilitating disease. I feel like maybe she should be afforded a little more time to do things or at least some extra attention from the teachers.

Does anyone have any advice for how to handle school, the situation and how to educate the educators on Lyme? Also I am worried they won't take it seriously.

Thanks in advance for any input!!!
