I think I tried to join that site once, and they wouldn't grant me access. It was weird.

Hmmmmmm. Yahoo groups? I am a member of my state's Yahoo Group. It's just called "******** Lyme" and has about 30 members, not very active. There is a good introduction to it, with the typical disclaimer at the bottom about not giving medical advice.
I hope they don't try to shut us down, or something.

just don, if you are talking about one of LymeDisease.org's state groups, no one has to write an essay but just say which state you live in and briefly state why you want to join. Requiring this prevents spammers from joining the groups.
If you did that and your application was denied, the moderator may have missed your email and you should apply again or email the moderator.
We get a huge number of emails. Most moderators have Lyme themselves. Sometimes people do get denied by mistake.
I apologize if this happened to you on one of our groups.

I posted under medical a couple of days ago. I can't access the lymedisease.org website.
You may want to check and see if something is going on with your servers.
I just get a message that the address is invalid.
Have been trying for 3 days now. I don't have problems with any other websites -- just yours at www.lymedisease.org

Tutu and I were booted off the MS group (I believe it was MS) a number of years ago. They didn't want their "valued" customers (patients) that they had convinced had MS to know they might have Lyme and it was missed by their genius doctors.
The MS groups (as are some others) are NOT at all friendly to Lyme info, even though our total intention is not to "steal" their customers, but to sincerely help people.
To various "disease support groups", anything that threatens their income (donations) is a big no-no. I've never seen anything like it before. And it is so sad for the patients.
Or.. on second thought... maybe they know you and that's why you were booted off?
