OK! I have a dream.

My bet is we can get 5,000 signatures by Valentines Day!!!! (For you guys out there, that is February 14.)

[lol]

If you don't want the IDSA guidelines to be blocking your way to getting treatment- SIGN ON NOW!!!!!

Lymedisease.org (formerly CALDA) is taking the lead on this effort, so we know it is a good deal for us.

Link to petition is below... (I would advise clicking the anonymous button before submitting your name- safety first!)

LYMEPOLICYWONK: SIGN THE PETITION TO TAKE DOWN THE IDSA GUIDELINES!

24
Jan

Medical treatment guidelines are tremendously important in determining your treatment options. All important treatment guidelines are listed by the National Guidelines Clearinghouse (NGC), which is part of the US Department of Health and Human Services.

It's the government's way of providing updated information about different diseases to health care professionals. NGC's own rules require that listed guidelines be updated every 5 years.

Full story here:

That was simple - I was 108 and before I could check back, 109 had already happened - going fast here! For all those 5000 folks who filled out that treatment survey recently, this is even easier!

Thank you for signing on!

Truth is, I know nothing about change.org and I can't speak for Lymedisease.org, but my guess is they want to keep it in house on their own system.

I also think they have faith in you all that you will work to get the word out there for all.

You've done so many good things to join in to help, I put my faith in members here too.

Drum Roll!

Absolutely amazing! I was hoping to see 5,000 signatures on the petition by Valentines Day.

It is very possible we will make it, especially considering in less than 24 hours- 11 PM last night, to 10:35 tonight- we got over ...

3,000 signatures!

Cheers and applause to you!

Having the community working together to give the IDSA guidelines the boot is wonderful!

Keep up the good work, and thank you for signing on, and for sharing this with everyone you know!

Thx, Steve - it's now at 3340. Um, Ms TC, is Valentine's Day coming early this year? By your numbers, I think it's tomorrow!

I suggest you add a zero onto that 5,000 wish - let's make that 50,000+ for Cupid's Day...

The Lyme car at least stayed on the track - I think this petition drive is going airborne!!

GROUNDHOG DAY PREDICTION

If Punxsutawney Phil sees his shadow on Groundhog Day, legend says we will have six more weeks of winter. If he doesn't see it, spring is just around the corner!

BUT.... Phil, who lives in highly endemic Pennsylvania, told me if he comes out of his den for his midnight snack on Feb 2 and sees less than 10,000 signatures on the petition to bury the IDSA guidelines, he will start biting everyone who didn't sign on!

The good news is... if there are more than 10,000 signatures he will only bite the IDSA guideline authors! Sounds like a deal to me! ~smile~

Please sign the petition and get everyone you know to sign it! Getting more signatures surely beats having to hide from an angry groundhog and deal with the IDSA any longer!

Just checking in - Phil says he also doesn't want to find any ticks on himself, and that he's inviting more 600+ friends to sign the petition for an even 10K -

Great to hear that little bird!

````````````````````````````````````````
NEW message from General Lee...
General Beauregard Lee, PhD., the Southern Groundhog Weather Predictor based out of Atlanta, said to tell you there will be an early spring this year in the south!
He is sorry Punxsutawney Phil in Pennsylvania wasn't able to predict the same for the rest of the country.
General Lee said he is VERY pleased to know we now have over 9,000 signatures on the petition and he wanted to thank you very much for your efforts so far.
He is concerned though that there may not be 10,000 signatures by midnight tonight- Groundhog Day.
He said he would write people directly to ask them to sign on, but as you know, he is not allowed to have a computer or phone in his den, only a TV.
He said if you could help get the 10,000 signatures on the petition by tonight (tweet, facebook, email, phone calls, whatever), he would personally send a message to the guideline authors saying "Kiss My Grits!"
We need about 300 more people (as of now) to make it to 10,000.
Link to petition here: http://www.lymedisease.org/petitionscript/index.php
Thanks from General Lee!
