Gluten-free Bisquick mix has a gluten-free recipe for biscuits. And I've tried canned gluten-free gravy from the co-op. The gravy is only so-so, but it might satisfy your craving.
Make it a special occasion and not an everyday thing because we need to avoid the carbs.

I would avoid using packaged mixes because they usually have a lot of binders, fillers, sugars and extra ingredients to react to which can make issues like gerd worse.
Here are some homemade gluten free, healthy breakfast ideas:

Thanks Marz, I don't need the carbs but ever so often it would be good. I have used the GF Bisquick never heard of the gravy but why not use corn starch?

Phyl6648, if you don't mind, may I ask you what types of foods have you been eating for breakfast. And what type of liquids do you drink in the morninng.
I ask this because I have found that I can't hardly drink any fluids (especially water) in the morning. If I drink fluids in the morning then my urinary brix (sugar) and urinary salt will crash and this will cause me to feel horrible..... extreme fatigue, dizziness, headaches and brain fog. I use a refractometer and a conductivity meter to measure my urinary brix (sugar) and urinary salt levels throughout the day. By doing so, I have learned how much water to drink and when I should drink it. And how much sugar, salts and carbohydrates I should eat and when to eat them. And thus with the help of my refractometer and conductivity meter I have usually been able prevent these urinary brix (sugar) and salt crashes from occuring that I have been experiencing all of these years.
I also have to avoid eating foods that are high in water content in the morning such as most fresh fruits and melons (dried fruits are ok for me). Even putting alot of milk into my oatmeal can be enough to cause my urinary brix (sugar)and urinary salt readings to plummet in the morning. So, these are "no no" foods for me in the morning.
Nowadays, I will usually just eat something like salty eggs and pancakes with lots of syrup on them in the morning. So, in my case, I have found that avoiding carbs and avoing sugars is not helpful to me. Actually, it seems to be the exact opposite. I feel MUCH better now that I have finally started to eat more carbs, sugars and salt again. Though, I am also drinking much less water at certain times of the day than I used to.
I will also probably only drink about 1/4 cup of milk or juice in the morning hours with my eggs and pancakes. But I will start drinking more fluids around noon time and the early evening hours. I also completely avoid pork because I have found that eating pork will negatively affect certain other urinary measurements that I take. Plus eating pork just makes me feel worse.
By the way, I have learned that my body seems to be more prone to urinary brix (sugar) and urinary salt crashes at certain times of the day. My urinnary sugars and urinary salts will ALWAYS crash in the morning hours unless I take steps to prevent this from happening. My body also seems to be prone to urinary sugars and urinary salts crashes somewhere around 3pm and 4am. If I eat something salt and sweet around then I help to prevent this from happening. Though, I also have to watch my water/fluid intake because water can dilute the salts and sugars in your body and thus you can experience symptoms of low urinary brix (sugar) and low urinary salts such as extreme fatigue, brain fog, headaches, anxiety and etc.

Emla, how did you come up with this? You may be on to something that would help me as I have the symptoms you described in the morning if lucky they seem to get less in the afternoon.
I have been drinking Spirul-tein protein powder that I mix with water, it calls for milk.. If not that then I will have a boilded egg with a rice cake and coffee..

- Rice cakes can set us up for trouble with our pancreas, as they can cause hypoglycemic crashes. To me, a rice cake is like injecting sugar right into my veins.
There are many good carbs to consider, gluten-free in VEGETABLES for BREAKFAST, along with protein and good fat. On the side, whole seeds, grasses, etc:
Quinoa; Red Quinoa; Millet; Brown, Red, Black, Wild Rices; Amaranth; Buckwheat Groats, and Teff.
Best if WHOLE, not ground. It just lasts longer in the body and help balance blood glucose. The full fiber of whole food also helps lower the liver's detox stress.
Of all of those, if you need mushy, go with the whole buckwheat groats and just use a bit more water. Add either savory or sweet herbs / spices. Stevia can bring a sweetness to it but vanilla can, too. -

Phyl6648,
It's a long story as how I was able to find this all out but I first learned about how the urinary brix (sugar) and urinary salts could be used to help overcome health problems when I started to read about and utilize a therapy called RBTI. And then from RBTI I started to read more from a guy named Matt Stone and his writings and I am now incorporating many of Matt Stone's dietary suggestions into my daily life and it has made a HUGE difference in the way that I feel.
For many years I had been diagnosed with and had been treated for chronic Lyme Disease, co-infections, mold toxicity, toxic heavy metal, viruses, parasites and etc. and for the most part, I only saw a slight improvement in my symptoms and certain symptoms just got worse with those various treatments but when I started to incorporate some of Matt Stone's suggestions into my daily life I almost immediately began to improve DRAMATICALLY!!!
The REAL problem behind my health problems seems to have been due to frequent urinary brix (sugar) and urinary salt crashes and a low metabolism (chronically low body temperature). Plus I was drinking way too much water and other non-sweetened beverages throughout the day. All that water drinking just caused my urinary brix (sugar) and urinary salt to crash. But with some changes in my eating and drinking habits/schedule I now feel profoundly better because my body temperature and metabolism is back up to normal and my urinary sugar and salt do not crash anymore. I only wish that I had known about this stuff years ago.
If your urinary brix (sugar) and your urinary salt are low then you are probably going to feel like crap..... especially if you drink pure water or any fluids/beverages that contain little to no sugars. Morning is usually the worst time for urinary brix (sugar) and urinary salt crashes. Though, they can crash anytime during the day or night. Morning, 3 pm and 4 am are the most frequent times that urinary brix (sugar) and your urinary salt crash.
A refractometer and a conductivity meter are extremly useful in helping to determine whether or not your urinary brix (sugar) and urinary salt are low. A refractometer is relatively cheap (about 20 or 30 dollars) and easy to use and the conductivity is easy to use but it is sort of expensive..... around 85 to 100 dollars. Though, you will only have to buy one because they should last nearly a lifetime.
If your urinary brix (sugar) and your urinary salt are frequently low then based upon my personal experience I would strongly suggest that you incorporate some of Matt Stone's suggestions because you may just get your life back.
P.S. In my opinion, if your urinary brix (sugar) and your urinary salt are frequently low in the morning then rice cakes for breakfast are probably not going to hurt you. But eating pancakes with alot of syrup with something dry and salty may make you feel a whole lot better. But the coffee may be a problem for you because it contains water and a cup of coffee can potentially lower your urinary brix (sugar) and lower your urinary salt level. This will depend upon what type of coffee you drink, how much coffee you drink and what else you put into your coffee.

- Emla,
thanks for all that detail & the links.
Glad to hear you are feeling better. When I tried that low-carb approach years ago and kept passing out I felt horrible the whole time. Rather than going LOW Carb, I find GOOD carbs work better for my body.
I really needed more than just veggies, protein and fat. But a rice cake would send my blood sugar levels to the moon. The complex carbs do not do that for me, though.
Because lyme can predispose one to diabetes, it's important to be able to monitor blood glucose with a home meter.
So, your situation and all that BRIX detail looks interesting - certainly all bodies are not the same and it's good to learn about variations. It will just take a while to digest it. -

Keebler, if eating a rice cake sends your blood sugar levels to the moon you might want to consider utilizing Matt Stone's dietary suggestion because I have heard from numerous people that when they followed Matt's suggestions their blood sugar normalized again. Even though his suggestions seem contrary to what we are told is "healthy" for us it seems as though his methods seem to work for quite alot of people.... me being one of those people.
Essentially, with his methods, Matt is trying to change the internal terrain of the body so the body functions optimally and is more resistant to nearly all diseases..... Lyme Disease included.
And I have found the refractometer and the conductivity meter to be extremly helpful to me. Without them I would have never known that I had a low urinary brix (sugar) reading and a low urinary salt reading and that I was drinking way too much water/non sweetened fluids.
By the way, if you are interested in using a refractometer to measure your urinary brix (sugar) then you can purchase one for about $30.00 dollars on ebay.
Here is the conductivity meter that I use here at home. I use it to measure the urinary salt content of my urine..... this salt measurement is approximate though.
"In fact, if most people were to test their blood sugar when feeling that shaky, irritable, lethargic, headachy, mid-afternoon ``hypoglycemic'' dip, they would find that their blood sugar is actually elevated. And this is where the confusion over what is really physiologically taking place in a person's body stems from. It is most certainly hypoglycemia, but because the blood sugar is fine or even elevated, in the medical world this is not hypoglycemia but just some psychosomatic crapola. The refractometer settles this."
"Having radical fluctuations in available carbohydrate is revealed not in the blood, but in the urine via a refractometer."

- I've been surprised and seduced by others good intentions, too. This is more likely to happen when I'm really tired or feeling down.
Still, it was like poison to me, each time and that just fueled the downward spiral then.
I had to get over this not wanting to hurt someone's feelings when they surprised me with food that is not on my food plan.
It's a lesson to them in many ways when we can say:
Oh, thanks so much for your thoughtfulness. In the past, I did eat those but just can't now. Could I keep it in the fridge for you for a day or two?
Or, I really do love that you brought this for me but I need to have you take this with you or I may succumb to temptation. A laugh with that will go a long way.
We can still have good company . . . and then eat whatever we were planning to do before the surprise visit.
If you are here for a shorter time, or more ill partly due to the food choice, is that relative going to feel better then?
Probably not.
What matters is our time with each other, not the food (but good food is nice, of course).
It's also good for them to take into account the MSG and trans fats in such products and maybe together explore foods that will nourish as well an nurture.
There are some chemicals that we just can't afford to put into our bodies:
MSG is one of those. Most prepared, processed foods contain it. The sodium content, too, can be that for a full week, and not the right kind of sodium, either.
Nitrites in sausage can torpedo me for a week. And, has that been "treated" with ammonia during processing?
For who are gluten-free, it's never okay to eat it as it can affect the brain for up to six months afterward. This is not like a calorie-exchange diet. It's about exposure and the chain reaction.
We have to be very careful. But there are still ways to get good food and good flavor -- and ways to include loved one in our exploration and changes, with some fun.
And - for times when special foods are enjoyed - go for the real deal, full of flavor and goodness.
SAUSAGE: It's best to get any ground meats directly from the meat counter at a nearby grocer - where they grind it themselves THAT DAY -- with no additives and from animals that have been humanely raised.
Preferably from ranchers in your area.
CHICKEN or TURKEY Sausage is a good option, too.
We can slice this off, or make patties, cook and then freeze individually. Then it can be ready by the time the eggs are cooked.
If the sausage is in links, I've cooked them and then can pop one out of the freezer as I wish, to warm alongside the eggs as they cook in the pan.
EGGS - Most stores now carry those from cage-free, organically feed chickens. Some are higher in Omega fats, too. A very good thing our brains. -

Phyl6648,
That's good to hear that you had a good day!! If your urinary brix (sugar) and urinary salt are usually low everday then eating eating a sausage biscuit, ham sandwich and angel food cake should cause your urinary brix and urinary salts to increase to a more normal level (provided that you don't drink much water or fluids or take something that would cause the urinary brix and salt to crash) and therefore you would probably feel better on the days that you ate salty, sugary and dry foods.
Though, you may want to substitute the pork with something like salty turkey bacon or salty turkey sausage. Or you could just pour some extra salt onto some other type of food throughout the day that you enjoy eating and especially in the morning.
And if you don't mind me asking, do you ever experience frequent urination or do you usually have to pee more often than once every two hours? And do you often have cold hands and feet or are you considered to be a "cold natured" person?
Also, I just wanted to mention that drinking lots of almost any kind of fluids and especially pure water can poltentially cause the urinary brix (sugar) and urinary salts to crash....... especially in the morning hours. So, you may have to severly limit the amount of fluids that you drink at certain times of the day...... especially in the morning hours.
But if possible, it would be best to test your urine throughout the day with a refractometer and conductivity meter because this will help to determine when and how much water/fluids you should be drinking. And when and how much sugar and salt you should eat. And with these devices you will be able to tell if some herb, vitamin/mineral or drug effects your urinary brix (sugar) and urinary salts in a negative way. And in my experience, those things can sometimes effect the urinary brix (sugar) and urinary salts in a negative way and therefore those substances can potentially cause you to feel like crap. Some people would probably call that reaction a "herx" reaction but in actuality those substances may just be causing your urinary brix (sugar) and urinary salts to crash and this would cause you to feel even worse than you already felt.
The refractometer and the conductivity meter would cost you about a total of $120.00 to purchase but that would be a one time purchase. They are very easy to use and they have been EXTREMEMLY helpful to me. I don't think that I would have ever gotten any better without them.

Emla, the answer to you question is YES.. Frequent urination, and cold feet/ hands, I wear socks in the summer..
I don't understand all this you are speaking of so will have to do a lot of reading.. Is this lyme related or something else..
I wss able to be out most of yesterday and once again the foods I ate foods I usually avoid but was out with friends and had hot dogs and burgers.. I did try small portions , oh also had some ice cream.. Was able to get up and go to church today.. I keep waitng for payback but so far so good.
Now I am far from well but I was able to be out and eating all the things I thought I shouldn't.. Sure does seem good .. I was mostly drinking my meals and a lot of water .. Have cut back on liquids.. Thought what the heck I have tried everything else..
One day at a time still waiting on my big crash..

Phgyl6648,
In my opinion, and based upon my personal experience, having frequent urination and having cold hands and feet is a STRONG indicator that your urinary Brix (sugar) and urinary salt levels are low and this means that your cellular levels of sugar and salt are probably low and therefore you will experience symptoms that are very similar to hypoglycemia (low blood sugar)...... extreme fatigue, brain fog dizziness and etc.
So, if I were you then I would definetly drink less water and completely stop eating or drinking watery meals. Drinking too much water and fluids will make this problem WORSE!!!! If your urinary brix (sugar) and urinary salt are low then you will need too drink LESS fluids and eat more dry, salty and sugary foods........ especially in the morning hours. Drinking very little fluids in the mornings and eating pancakes with tons of syrup and eating some salty turkey bacon have helped me to feel profoundly better. Actually, I also usually pour about 1/4 to a 1/2 teaspoon of table salt into a spoon and swallow that with my breakfast. I know that it sounds crazy but doing this has helped me tremendously.
By eating and drinking this way I can prevent my urinary sugar and urinary salt from crashing. And thus I can prevent myself from feeling bad.
Now, a refractometer is a device that is often used to measure the brix content of liquids. And brix is basically a fancy name for sugars and carbohydrates. So, essentially with the refractometer you can measure the sugar content of your urine. This will enable you to determine if your urinary sugar levels are low.
To keep things simple Brix = sugar and refractometer can measure this.
And the refractometer can be used to determine if you are drinking the proper amount of water at the correct time of the day. As for me, I absolutely have to drink very little water or fluids in the morning hours because if I drink much fluids in the morning then my urinary sugar and urinary salts will almost certainly crash. And this will cause me to feel like crap. But usually I can drink more water and fluids in the late evening hours without experiencing a crash.
Now, a conductivity meter can be used to measure the salt content of your urine. If your urinary salt level is low then this may indicate that your cellular salt levels are low and you may experience symptoms that are similar to salt defficiency...... chronic fatigue, irritability, headaches, dizziness, nausea and etc.
And NO, the urinary brix crashes and salt crashes that I am talking about and that the you may be experiencing are probably not related to Lyme Disease. Actually, it's very possible that Lyme Disease is not part of your health problems at all. But instead these daily crashes in urinary sugar and urinary salt that you are possibly experiencing may be the TRUE cause of most, if not all of your your symptoms. And this may be due primarily to your eating and water drinking habits.
Sometimes it can take a while for our eating and water drinking habits to cause us health problems.
