Welcome back, LymeNet buddies! Guess the site has been down. Oh, and happy Lyme Awareness Month.

I just did the hour round trip bike ride to and from physical therapy. My session today just about did me in, but I know it is helping. My goal is to shower and then be just a little lazy this afternoon.

Hope everybody is doing well this week. Cheers!

Kayak, sorry to hear about this rough patch. Hope you're feeling better tomorrow and things get sorted out one way or another.

I'm hitting the sack early tonight. Nighty night, all.

Dang... kayak says it's her ankle that is causing so much pain. She may need an MRI on her ankle.

Went to our Mayor's Prayer Breakfast this morning. Got to hear a speaker who was a former Muslim (from Iran) who was in Iran during the hostage crisis... among those shouting "death to the USA."

He is now a Christian minister.

Well, got a little heatstroke on Saturday from cutting the grass. First time ever.....

Not doing much this week...just work and house stuff.

Did vacuum car and go to the laundramat to do some bedding on Tuesday.

If it doesn't rain this weekend will be out there cutting grass again.

Hubs bought Powerade so I'll drink one of those before I get started.

Jimmy1-Thanks for starting this week's thread. I tried to get on Lymenet a couple of times and couldn't so just checked back recently.

Kayak-Hope you're feeling better soon and the house issue gets resolved the way it's supposed too.

TuTu-Hope the new therapy helps. Wow....going from Muslim to Christian....that's something you don't hear of too often.

See you all tomorrow!

Lots of good stuff but brain recall after reading is not working this am.

I do recall ALW and cutting grass and heat does not mix.

Death to USA...I have always felt that was weird...bad problem solving.

Must have been fun listening to his journey. Glad you got the opportunity.

kayak...hugs

jimmy..the bike ride sounds wonderful to me...but understand how that and the PT would do you in.

OK I guess I did recall some things.

Good news....the funding for the lift and hitch for my car has been approved. Parts ordered.

I need to send an email to see how long it will take to get parts.

Part of the agreement was that I would get the car, me and the power chair down the hill for installation.

Not sure how that is all going to fall into place. I also willl need a driver for my car.

Looks like 2 cars doing down...one that will transport my power chair too.

Then, I need to lay in the wtg room while they install it. So hoping health can handle things that day.

They also will be installing locks on the lift. This is so I can drive the power chair onto the lift and it will lock into place vs having to manually tie the chair down...which would do me in if I was doing well enough at the time to do that.

So happy they invented locks for the wheels.

Exercise and movement wise:

It has been a good week. I have been able to do the 5 min in, rest on a log and 5 min out all week so far..first thing in the morning.

Wtg for Riteaid like excedrin to kick in now then I am hoping to drive to the trailhead and enjoy the forest again.

Able to finally put away some laundry last night. Est I was on my feet 15 min before I had to stop.

I also was able to watch and listen to TV while putting laundry away just like before I came down sick...very unusual for me to do this..usually need quiet.

Able to walk into the cardio place and get appointments for two different tests. (It took my health a month before I was able to follow through on that one...they were supposed to call me with test dates but never did)

Also able to walk into the ma and pa health food place a couple of times this week and pick up a few things.

One time, I just left them my debit card and went to the car. They then brough the groceries to me.

I just couldn't be on my feet any longer.

Life is going to be so much more do able and allow me to do more with the lift so I can transport the power chair.

Getting groceries will be so much more do able too.

it most likely is going to cost me $100 in gas to get the car down the hill and back. The car gets about 10 mpg.

My budget for gas each month is $50 but it will all work out.

Next step is to figure the phone thing out.

Cruised down to the two thrift shops last night in the upright Power Chair down the street.

I did well. Brain and body were doing well enough to take in what was around me.

Good trip. Unusual trip. Saw a quilt from Amish Country. Beautiful. They were asking $150.00.

The thrift shops around here are not very thrifty lately. HA!

I mostly just have fun looking. I always seen something I have never seen before or something that reminds me of something I had years ago.

Kam, that's FANTASTIC that the funding for the lift is approved! Gads, you've been a busy gal.

I'm signing off for a while. We're headed off for a family vacation tomorrow morning, so today's exercise is getting packed up and ready. Next week's exercise will be playing in the waves with my two favorite little beach bunnies.

Sending you all hugs and positive thoughts!

Jimmy1 out.

Weekend's starting out great! Got up early and cleaned house now getting ready to jump in the shower and get ready for work.

Rained like all get out yesterday (yeah!) so it probably won't rain this weekend.

Getting up early tomorrow, run errands then onto the yardwork....but don't worry gang....I'm gonna load up on Powerade and water BEFORE I start cutting grass!

Kam-Loved to hear that you're going to be more mobile. I love to go to thift stores, flea markets, etc. too. I'm amazed at the workmanship of things from the past. They can be beauts!

Jimmy1-Have a wonderful, fun-filled vacay!!!

See you all later!

WOW KAM!!!! you did a lot and a lot is happening-great news

iread all of this with my coffee and it was nice. i did sleep-watched a movie-joyfull noise-to calm down and get my mind off stuff after doing all i could last night. it wasnt done by 5...like they saqid...but it was done by 6.

mortgage guy has the flu-bad timing-his wife and little kids have had it too. i feel bad for him but there was a deadline...he should have handed it off sooner

when i started with him...i was the only one. the next day he had 14 calls. maybe the economy is getting better.

i am comfy here in the wc but etta is doing everything she can to be bad. last night while trying to cook i broke a baking disha dn twice she picked up chunks of glass and ran away to bury it-like she does her bones-b4 i could clean it up.

i got the glass and she wasnt bleeding. but gees...as if im not having a hard enough time now. she hates the wc and wont come to me so i have to walk to get her and that is bad on the ankle

i have to go cuz right now she is running around the house chewing up a full roll of toilet paper...shes cute...but im tired.

im going to take another easy day. if they dont call to scedule mri i will schedule it at the hospital down where i want to move. they scedule in 3 days. the one here took 3 monthes!

it was good to read all you are doing and thanks for the good wishes

So we're talking about a 250 mile round trip?? I thought you were talking about a block or two.

I'm hoping I'm delivering good news here .. it won't be that much! [Smile]

Tutu..I did check the gas mileage with mapquest

It was less....I think $85 or $90...not much less.

Gas is just one of the many obstacles to overcome and most likely the easiest obstacle.

Time wise they gave me an hour and a half or so...but I know traffic is a problem down the hill..not smooth sailing.

I also know that it usually takes 2 hrs to get down the hill to docs and she is closer.

Tried to make a cup of coffee this am. got the coffee...but it also is on me...

and several others places...I'll clean up later.

Most mornings I can't make coffee. But, I was able to yesterday so thought I would give it a try again today.

Able to drive out to the trailhead...walk 5 min, rest on a rock and walk out.

I think I have made it to the forest every day this week. Not sure. I'll check later.

Signs of spring in the air...baby cotton tails, baby squirrels, baby chicks at the feedstore I pass on the way to the forest

Sad day for me. This is what I posted on FB today:

To my Dad: You were the best dad a girl could ever want. You loved me, protected me, encouraged me. I'll never forget the little things, like how we shared lunches together when I was able to come home for lunch in elem school. How you baked the most awesome bread ever!

How you could make my pigtails look better than Mom could ..lol .. How you babied those strawberries you grew and cultivated our gardens. How hard you worked .. all the time, even when disabled. How you could build anything with wood and make it beautiful. And especially .. How you loved us all. Thank you. .. 6/7/16 - 5/5/93

So grateful to God above that I had a good dad.

Able to drive to trailhead again this am. 5 min in, rest on rock, 5 min out.

While resting on the rock I wanted to keep going but knew that the walk in is usually strong but the walk out does me in.

Glad I did not keep going. As the walk out did me in.

IN the past, once I hit the forest edge, I would enjoy driving to the trailhead.

But, lately, the focus has been more on not hitting dogs or people...

slow start...woke at 4 am with chest pains...but im sure it was just stress over everything

mri tomorrow---hopefully get answers and a plan

late yesterday i managed to get to cellar and repack a bunch of stuff into heavy garbage bags so i could use the totes to pack the upstairs stuff as soon as i get the go-ahead.

that was the closest to exercise in a long time. the boy that helped me last week set it up so i could do it by sitting on futon that is down there. got a lot done with few steps and i was realy tired after. good for me. but slow today.

KAM- what you said about real excedrine working and generic not. that happens to me with one med. it is a prescription antihistine but helps me sleep. they tried to give me the generic 3 times. it never works. the doc looked up ingreients in the little book they have and found one ingredient is missing in generic. its not the main one...but not having it makes the generic not work fo rme.

there probably is a place to see exact ingredients in excedrine-but i dont know where. maybe someone else does. maybe its caffiene and if you take the generic with coffee it would work!!!
