Someone called today saying they were conducting a survey for my state's health dept and the CDC. My first thought was that it might be Lyme related and I said no, I wouldn't do it.
The person said they were wanting to learn about the general health of people in the state.
When I googled the number to see if there were any comments about other's experience with it, those who participated said they asked a lot of questions including whether they used a cell phone.
Also wanted to talk to the first male in family, sometimes the second or third male.
I guess this is legit and the state is really paying this company to do this survey for them.
What a way to waste our tax money and what an invasion of privacy. (although one person commented that they don't know who you are and it is a blind survey.) Still don't trust them!

- That could be ANYONE calling for personal details - someone looking for Rx drugs even.
To confirm, you might call the health dept - but not the number that called you in case it's a set up number. Did you get the name of the person who called?
Blind surveys are not blind if they know who you are and you really have no idea if they are who they say they are. You said you Googled the number but did it confirm the health dept as the caller?
Can you find out who is in charge of this survey and their goal? It's just good to know that in case this is a ruse of some type.
This is not the most scientific manner of gathering data. I do question it. -

flutterby, what is in the first paragraph of your link is exactly how they started the call.
The comments came up after just entering the phone number in googles search engine. It was from a site called 800notes.com.but it wasn't an 800 number. There are other sites as well.
Even if it's legit and maybe it's not, since anyone could use the survey questions from the cdc site, phone surveys are not to be trusted IMHO.

Happened here too!! For my number in the mountains. They tried twice ,then I called back .
Answered questions vague as possible, cause I wanted to get to the do you have any comments part.
Basically said they were doing a terrible job in this state, for several reasons. Had heard of people getting sick/some dying from infections not getting treated and tainted blood was getting out and hurting others..........Infectious disease medical community is not doing their job..
Thought about it , prayed about it and tried to tone it down and basically say they were dropping the ball, badly....
Now I just pray for protection from this, hope it did a bit of good .
Now, see that it is actually being done.
Still cautious about that male part..
