Hi..new to the site...please help...desperate!!!My LLMD wants me to get a year of IV's via PICC (I am practically bedridden, use an electric wheelchair, and on oxygen)and INS says they will only cover a month. Anyone know of a way around this? Who can afford $118 a day for 2 IV antibiotics not counting all the other stuff???

I use Infuserve America for my medications and supplies. Depending on where you live, drugsdepot.com has really good prices. My doctor has me pusle my medication, 4 days on and 3 off, and that cuts the cost a ton!
I don't have insurance, but I have heard that Infuserve can sometimes get insurance companies to cover when they otherwise would not.
There is an book, free, called infusing for lymies that has a ton of good info.
Good luck! I have had my piccline for 9 months, and it has brought me back from the dead. I have a long ways to go, but have had the best improvements so far.

I also recommend Infuserve. It is terribly sad that we have to ask these questions. Cancer patients, no other patients have to pay out of pocket for treatment.
You can file an appeal with your insurance company to try to get longer treatment. Most have set guidelines for Lyme that only allow 4 weeks.
If you have a really good insurance plan you may be able to get your medicine, just the actual vials or premixed bags at your local pharmacy. You would still have to get all the supplies to infuse from Infuserve but this would save lots of money. I got away with that for awhile with one insurance plan.
