It is nice here. How about where you are??
Rosie and I were able to be in the forest est 15 min.
We took the trail towards the sunny open area.
It has a bit of declne and incline areas.
I rested est 4 times
Elk tracks were once again on the trail.
I noticed that the Elk slipped twice.
I wondered if the Elk had a bad leg or if he or she was being chased by a preditor.
I also noticed that the air and sun feel different in the forest although it is only 3 miles from home.
It also is so much quieter there...I enjoy the sound of birds now and then.
A dozen cars parked at the trailhead this am.
If it were not for Rosie giving me the look and the excedrin kicking in. I most likely would not get out of bed.
I never know until I get there if I will be able to be on the trail or just let Rosie out while I drive on a dirt road nearby.
Happy Camper when I am able to be on the trail.
Lots of different kind of vehicles and campers in the area.
This afternoon, the main road out of town will be bumper to bumper traffic.

Thanks to all the Veterans and those who died and those who served to keep our freedom safe!

Ask for a healthy deposit if you rent your house. And enough extra to do repairs if the need arises.

kayak....it is a lot you are taking on right now. 1st take care of you. I know that is tricky.
You probably all ready know not to rely just on the lastest place that the person lived in as a reference as that place might want to get them out of their place so will dance around the topic.
Able to do the 10 min loop in the forest. I was the only one there today. I went later than usual and it all ready was too warm to be there.
Did me in. I most likely will lay low today.
Heading down the hill tomorrow to get the lift on the car. Stressful but trying to just give it to God and have peace.
I do need to have what it takes to take the things out of the back of the car so they can put the spare tire back there.
Not that the spare tire is any good nor would I be able to actually put a spare on...I have AAA thankfully.
But, I am guessing it is the law to have a spare.
I also need to pack food and drinks as I dont' know how long I will be in the wtg room.
...I learned I need to be there by 9 am and they will do the check off list at 4 pm. So, it is going to be a long day.
..I packed a couple of things to eat and drink. I need to pack more.
I need to make sure I have a water for Rosie too..I think I have a dish in the car and water but need to double check.
..I was able to check. She has her water bowl and I have water in the car. Need to change it out as I don't know how long it has been in the hot car.
Charged the chair last night so it is good to go.
Need to make sure I have my peltor ear protection...they are in the car so I am good to go there.
Ear plugs are in my purse so good to go there.
Need pillow for passenger seat as I recline
..Hoping I remeber to do this after I am done here.
And soak the cooling scarves as it is going to be very, very hot down the hill...hopefully air conditioning will help that
..Not going to tackle this...to exhausted...thining I will be in an air conditon wtg room.
Waiting for people to respond to email that are going to be taking the power chair down the hill for me.
..Done..took several emails back and forth but got the job done.
And print out directions on how to get there
...done

Hey Kam, thanks for starting this week's thread.
The guys came out on Saturday and did a wonderful job on my yard. Better than I would have done!
So far this week I cleaned my Mom's on Sunday and took her and a friend out and about on Monday.
Haven't done any kind of exercise yet....
Hopefully I'll get motivated.
Later all!

kam-thanks for thinking of me. the renters are actually landlords-they own 2 duplexes and live in one unit and rent the other 3. she is disabled with a service dog named floyd. he is such a sweetie. etta fell in love. they actually helped me write up the agreement. they gave me a big security deposit.
he will be working in town 6-12 months...
we can both end contract for no reason with 2 weeks notice.
that is the good news for today-and the boy finally came and my lawn is mowed.
the bad news is there is a glitch in the title. the realtor says it should be easy to fix. i hope so. i have lost a lot of money on this house if i have to start over.
i think i am going to make plans to rent to them anyway and go live in the camper for at least 6 months. i'll be near the ocean. hopefully i will be able to start some walking.
this woman is early 40s-has had 2 hip replcements after fighting cancer in her early 20s...the chemo saved her but screwwed up her bones.
she is an inspiration...

I love reading lots of positive news from everybody. Wishing you all a great day!
I'm getting ready to ride my bike over to therapy. Missed a couple appointments due to injuries from falling. I sometimes get a little wobbly and unstable when I'm tired or having a tough day. I got out of the car, took a few measly steps, and toppled over in the street. Scrapes and bruises galore. Ridiculous. Anyway, better now, so back on the horse. To wellness ...

Ouch Jimmy. Glad you didin't break anything.
I have heard of people stepping off the curb and breaking an ankle. Who would have thunk it?
Resting now. I got dressed, took Rosie around the blk in LL PC to toilet.
Put the bag of food in the car.
HOping to be able to put on some mascara and lipstick next, eat, take pills and therre was something else but I can't recall.
I also got my noon time pills in my purse.
Then down the hill.

well...the rental papers are all signed and they will move in the 10th. that means i need to go---with no place to go to yet. they are fine with me leaving bigger furniture for awhile...so i will take the clutter to a storage...i think the boy can do that quickly.
then just turning the internet back to wireless and i will be on my way. if i buy a screen house for the camper it will be more comfortable
realtor should be here soon...no news on title...but mostly good news for me.
i really enjoy this woman...and i think it is mutual...a history of chronic pain can make you budddys quick...im kinda sad we cant be neighbors!

Loved reading all the posts!
TuTu-Yelling during the game counts as exercise in my book too! Glad your team kicked butt!
Kayak-Sounds like you have some decent renters. Hope the house issue gets settled soon. Living by the beach in a camper sounds like a vacation. I lived in a little trucktop camper while building my cabin in AK. It was quite the adventure. Hang in there!
Jimmy1-Hope you recover quickly. I tripped and hurt myself crossing the street downtown. Was so embarrassed! Hoped like all get out that no one witnessed the debacle! Those darn cobblestone streets! And I was wearing flat boots! I have no excuse.
Kam-Did you say lipstick and mascara? I know when I was finally able to do that, it meant I was feeling better. Hope you're better.
Tomorrow is my day that I clean before work. Nephew's coming over after work and we're going out for mexican. I can't wait!
See you all later!

Batton down the hatches....tutu is watching the game.
I was not doing as well as I thought with the mascara and eyeliner.
I put it on at 7 am. I happened to look into the bathroom mirror at the place of business around 1 pm.
I had two big black eyes and had trouble getting the stuff off.
Mission Accomplished for going down the hill and getting the lift. I can now transport my power chair.
Close call on the way back. The front wheels were hanging over the edge a bit.
It is going to take practice for me to batton down the hatches on the lift.
The people who took me were great.
All involved were very good.
I am down for the count now but did very well health wise today.
got hoome about 5:30 pm Left about 7 am.
It is a bit like pulling a trailer with the lift and power chair on the back of the car.
The lady who drove me said it felt like two big guys got in the back of the car.
The engine had to work harder going up the hills too.
1st stop..I think will be the grocery store if I am up to it tomorrow.
First fun stop might be near the trail head or out at the Indian Ruins. Both have pavement.
Hopefully, my health will be up for church on Sunday or Bible Study.

Took power chair out to trailhead area this am.
I was done in and feeling like I was going to toss my cookies just trying to tie the power chair down on the ramp.
Got to the trailhead and the front wheels were almost off the ramp again and the lines were loose.
Cruised on the dirt road a bit but that was too much on the body so got on the asphalt and had a good cruise.
Rosie made me laugh. She was having a great time. She would stretch out and then wait for me to catch up in the power chair.
It was so much more do able to cruise around in the chair. I was able to look around me and enjoy being there.
This is not to say I will stop doing the 10 min loop when able.
When I loaded the power chair to come back home, I loaded it without tying it down.
I tied it down after it was raised. That was so much more do able.
I also took off the leg lifts and parked it the other way.
And asked a couple of ladies at the trailhead to double check my tie downs.
They too were only able to do one click.
All went well on the way home.
I really need to get the chair adjusted for me. I take the cushion off so it does not blow away.
The chair fits me better without the cushion.
But, too hard on the but.
It was too hot out there. I was there around 8 am.
I need to get there earlier.
It brought me a moment of two of joy.
Next stop is the grocery store. Hopefully, tomorrow morning.

Friday-Dusted, vacuumed and wiped down the bathrooms. That's gonna count as my exercise!
TuTu-I love mexican food too! I laughed when I read that you might need a tranq to watch the game. Sorry that the Spurs didn't win.
Kam-Hey, at least you made an attempt with the cosmetics. You know, in some circles the raccoon look is IN. I'd end up looking similar when I lived in AK so had to basically give it up. Now that I'm down here in the south, most everyone's so dolled up, I'm still trying to catch up with the local dress code.
Well, tonight's mexican night and movies with my nephew. I'm so predictable I always order the same thing. It's the 'Cancun', a gucamole taco, bean tostada and a cheese quesadilla. Plus chips and salsa and maybe I'll throw in one margarita.
Anyways, hope you all have a great weekend!

HAHA!! No need for the tranquilizer since the game wasn't close! I didn't even watch the second half, it was so bad.
Hope they can now figure out OKC like OKC figured THEM out.
You made me laugh about the "dolled up"... I can relate. They dress much nicer in Texas than in Missouri. People dress like slobs here. Not that I haven't seen my share of slobs in TX!!
I may have to go buy some avocados after while. Think it will go with brisket and beans? (homemade, of course!)

wow kam-that was a long day getting the chair all fixed. sounds like you are figuring it out. you remind me of how i am when i hook up and unhook camper. i really have to focus and double and triple check everything. it used to be so automatic when i was driving horses all over the place.
anyway---realtor said i would be lucky to get about 120,000. less than i put into this house...so i decided not to put it on market. it seems it should be worth it to keep it for storage for that.
the boy came and we took 2 loads in 2 hours to the storage.
i was wiped when i woke up...sort of had 3 appts the last 2 days and sleeping last night didnt catch me up. i talked to an old friend for a long time tonight and just checking here before i crash.
have plans for every day of the week and hope i can leave for camper next sunday or monday.

Tutu...thx for the reminder I was thinking of the cushion this am while out.
I need to measure the seat of the power chair to see if it will fit.
the other thing is the power chair does need to be adjusted to fit me. The back gets more support when I don't have the 2 inch or so cushion that I currently have on the seat.
Good outing this am. Not sure if loading the power chair was easier this am because I am getting into the routine of things or if I was having one of those 20% of the times when the body and brain are working better.
Routine is to put purse, Rosie and drink into car.
Roll down windows so Rosie will get air.
PUt key in lift, lower lift, drive power chair around to other side, load power chair, walk back to other side, raise lift, tie down power chair....this morning I left the seat cushion on and the joy stick rubber thingy and they stayed on OK..but I only traveled about 20 or 30 mph.
I also remembered to wear ear protection as sound of lift is too much for the brain.
Left home around 7 am. Got back around 8 am. Drove out to the indian ruins.
The apshalt paved trail is more rocks than asphalt now...so most likely will not go back in the power chair as it was too rough.
Hot out there all ready too.
I haven't been out there in a long time so it was good to be able to get out there.
Drove around parking lot of church to see what time service starts or Bible Study.
They have two services. Earliest was 9:30 am. My body and brain need to veg about 9 am so that is out.
Sent email to see if they had a Bible Study or evening service I might be able to attend.
Body is still in a lot of pain this. But, the cvs generic excedrin and pain meds helped me get out.
(in my imagination I had the follow conversation with the invisible indians at the ruins....
Chief said go far water....winter dry...
why i ride funny chair and not horse
the others at the site had fun taking my funny chair for a ride

Guess what, gang?? I just found out that my inlaws found a 5 ft SNAKE in their living room!!!
My inlaws are 82 and 85 yrs old!! The cleaning lady was there at the time. I bet she about died! (hope she comes back )
It was not poisonous... thank God! You know in Texas, there's a pretty big chance it will be poisonous...at least where they live out in the boonies. Hot and dry there.
They think the snake slipped ( ) in the screen door. Their cat will sometimes let himself out the door. The door does not close that well. (obviously)
I can hardly wait to go for another visit this summer.
One time they found a dead rat in their drinking well. Oh the joys of ranch living.
(I hate the taste of their water anyway and don't drink it. We always stop and buy gallons of water when we get there.)

I am thinking of getting gas in the car next. Trying to decide whether to load up the power chair and also pick up a few groceries.
I'd prefer to cruise around on the streets in the forest and give Rosie some off leash time.
That was so much fun last time.
Choices?? Food or fun?
