It justs feels like NO One here is getting better from what I have read so far.

Very scary.
I just signed up today and was feeling very down with all of this and came here and feel more down.

from what I have read it seems it is rare for anyone to get better.

some are saying no antiobiotics wont work, some say GARLIC???

some say herbals only....

some say herbals and abx....
some say this....and that

I am very depressed feeling like "what If I never recover" and I just feel that way more now after reading posts here
sorry If I offend anyone

its just how Im seeing it

Hi - thx for finding us. I think we're all over the map as to how we're all doing. Often people who do improve aren't here anymore to discuss, and some are here, helping others.

You can read and learn from success stories in the Popular Topics thread at the top of General Support.

Unless caught early on, the bugs tend to be persistent. At this point, I think getting quality of life back is very important, even if we're never cured of the infections.

It's various treatments for everyone - we're all different in how we respond. Some do abx only, some complementary medicine only, some a mix. You pretty much get to find out what works for you.

And each of us may feel better, in our own timing - some more quickly than others - depends on what we're dealing with, whether we detox well, do we have a good practitioner we're working with, etc.

Treatment occurs in three categories - kill/deter the organisms, detox and fortify the body. You can learn here about all the different things people try, but ultimately, it's going to be what your body responds to.

I call it going to Lyme school, in the beginning, to learn what we're dealing with and how to respond. I'd say give yourself some time to tackle the subject.

and don't forget to still include some things in your daily life that you enjoy doing while in this period of reoriention.

Hi travelq:

My daughter is now much better and it started by finding a LLMD from a helpful poster on this site.

Do not give up hope. If you have lyme the first step is finding a LLMD but no matter who you see you need to become your own health advocate. Many here can help.

Our daughter came off Lyme meds last week but it was a 2 year process and we still fear a relapse.

Welcome and good luck, everyone here trys to help.

Some of us are well! Some are in varying stages of wellness. The sickest ones are the ones doing all the posting.

Hi Travel,
I don't have much advice for you as I am new to this journey myself (waiting on test results/diagnosis after 5 years of illness). Have you been diagnosed? Do you have a LLMD? I hear there are some great ones in NYC.

I just wanted to send some hugs because I understand exactly what you mean. I felt the same way when I first came here a couple of weeks ago.

After a while, at least for me, you kind of just have to put your faith in God and do what your LLMD says (while staying educated on what should be done) and hope and pray for the best. Keep us updated on your progress...

travelq-
it takes a very long time to feel better-Years not months for many people. This month it has been 5 years since I found out I had Lyme and co-infections.

I am feeling 95% for the past 3 months days after a lot of treatment and horrible, horrible symptoms. Last year at this time I was sooooooooooo sick and NEVER dreamed of feeling as good as I do now.

Keep on trying to get better. Find a good LLMD and NEVER give up!

The postings are what allows us to vent to each other. Some people, like me, have very few people to vent to -honestly.

So that may be what you are reading . Friends sharing with other friends who know how you feel. We may debate sometimes, cause not one thing works the same for others.
But it is a safe place to be yourself.

I am better than I was last year. But still working on it

Take care

I'm new too. This was my first post yesterday: http://flash.lymenet.org/ubb/ultimatebb.php/topic/1/118085

Keep in mind this IS the internet. I think the most important thing is finding the right doctor and listening to them. Which is what I'm still in the process of doing.

Reading about lyme and coming to this site can be very overwhelming.

There is a blog by a lyme doctor called lymemd and he recently did a post on "cure".

It was very helpful to me. There is all kinds of information on this site. You need to learn how to weed it out.

The biggest thing is to have confidence in your doctor's ability to treat you. That can make alot of difference.

Alot of people get better. They just do not come on this site and post.
