YES, this should be in computer questions where no one will see it.
I have an account connected to my Etsy business and to my Pay Pal account for that business. That is all I use it for.
I am suddenly unable to get into the account. I even tried resetting my password.
I have gone thru one "account recovery process" and they said they could not verify that I was the holder of that account.
So I filled out another form (basically the same one.)
I'm very worried they will not accept it. WHY?? Because they want to know who I've recently sent emails to and what the subject lines were.
I DON'T SEND EMAILS FROM THAT ACCOUNT!!! RARELY DO. IF they don't let me in, I'll have to start all over with PayPal & Etsy and buy new business cards!!!
HELP!!

I dont' know what they do now, but I used to work tech support for hotmail/msn, and you could phone in to identify yourself and have the password reset.
I can't find a phone number on the site, just looked.

Not able to read what others wrote so this may have been said.
But, I recall reading that hotmail was no longer going to be available a while back.
They were closing it down. Posts: 15927 | From Became too sick to work or do household chores in 2001. | Registered: Dec 2002

I had the same thing happen to me (although my account was hijacked), and believe it or not, tech support got my email and helped me out. I provided them with another email address to contact me at, and I got help with a reset in about 48 hours. So don't give up hope yet. Give them as much detail about your account as you can.

That's the problem...they only want info on emails that have been SENT.
kam... I heard something about that too.
PS.. I HATE how they keep wanting your cell phone number!!!! That is where I draw the line.

I heard a while back that they're going to be renaming it Outlook. Keep waiting for that to happen along with the promised better service.
I was getting the screen every time before I logged in that they wanted my phone number so that in case I ever forgot my password they could contact me.
I always managed to get by that but finally got fed up and typed in a fake phone number.

- I don't like to provide my birth date when asked on any site, either. I have a date that is my "alternate" birth date that I supply when asked for those who have no business knowing but need that space filled in for some transaction to occur. -

I do the same. They asked for my birthdate also. I think this is going to get REALLY screwed up.

Lymetoo, as someone said, you may have been hacked (or not). It is sooo frustrating, when there is no one to contact! I hope you get it straightened out.
When this stuff happens, it reminds me of the price of having a free email account---no one to help when things go wrong. But I do still have them, as Verizon, whom I pay, is even worse!
