Hubby was told yesterday by LLMD that he definitely has babs and lyme but unfortunately, probably has ALS overlap. So will treat aggressively with Coartem, then back on other drugs. Highly suggests that we head to India for stem cell treatment. Have to see neuro and pulmonary first. If tests come back badly, we're off to India. What is the alternative? Might as well do it

I have heard that the way to treat ALS brought on by lyme is with low dose IV abx. It is a longterm treatment.
Some people think lyme bacteria can infect stem cells, so if he gets this treatment it will probably be necessary to continue the abx.

My uncle died of ALS years ago before I knew what lyme even was. He was an atypical case of ALS, which always peeked my interest some.
ALS seems to run in our family. His brother,my other uncle died of MS several years previous.
Previous to that lost several members of the distant family on the other side branch of the family tree.
Anyway the point of this is,,,when I was first researching lyme came across this article re. lyme and ALS connection.
Typically people afflicted with lyme only test 50 % positive for lyme. ALS patients will test 100% positive for lyme every time.
Wish I could find that article again but dont know where to look
