My son, Andrew, lost a very good friend, Dustin.
They were best friends during their year-long deployment to Iraq and remained good friends after returning home.
It was a tragic, unnecessary loss.
Please pray for my son and Dustin's family.
The funeral on Thursday 12/13 will be especially difficult.
Thank you.

I am so grateful for your son and his friend's service to our country.
I vent about being a mother to sick kids. It's been tough, for sure. But at the end of the day, my kids are still here. And that is a great and wonderful blessing in my life, whether they're sick or not.
Our community lost a young soldier to suicide awhile back. Her mother was an acquaintance of mine. She showed me pix of her daughter in uniform. She was so proud of her daughter. There really are just no words to describe this kind of awful loss.
Nothing is tougher than losing your child. NOTHING. No parent should ever have to bury a child.
Dekrator, I will keep your son Andrew in my prayers, along with his friend Dustin and his family.
May Dustin rest in peace and may his family be comforted by the love of their friends and family.
And may your son Andrew be comforted by your love and hugs.

So sorry for your sons loss. The service is a brotherhood and even though they don't share blood, they share the rest of their being for each other.
Prayers for you and your family and the brotherhood family.

I appreciate everyone's support.
Today was Dustin's funeral. It was a graveside service on a cold but sunny December day.
How very sad it was.
My son was in uniform, along with all of Dustin's other Army buddies, saluting, listening to the shots of the firing squad and the playing of Taps during the military honors.
Those tough soldiers were sniffling and wiping their eyes and noses as they said good-bye to their beloved comrade.
I had only met Dustin's wife in the past, but didn't know the rest of his family.
So very sad...3 little boys will grow up without their father.
I appreciate any continued prayers for Dustin's family, my son Andrew, and Dustin's other friends.
Thank you, friends.
