hey. i was exhausted when i woke up-struggled thru the day and i am stil exhausted. i am afraid there is a gas in the house making me this way but i have many detectors and none going off and i dont smell anything

i shoveled a lot the last 3 days...so guess it could just be left over from that

i managed to get to PT-2 appts back to back. i am not so much a cooperative patient now...i just dont want more pain.

my body is doing really wierd things. my knees didnt hurt when she started...then i couldnt walk when she was done...and she didnt hurt me.

my shoulder hurt before and after but she didnt hurt me but we did identify exactly where problem is...but too late for tx ...i see ortho next monday

got home and tried to scrape a little of the left over snow so it doesnt turn to ice and succeeded in getting the rest of the snow off the portable garage...

that was it for exercise. ive been trying to get out of the chair for 2 hrs and havent made it yet. after this i will throw together a plate of leftovers and collapse in chair again.

our local channel says no precip tonight but weather channel says light freezing rain which will not be good. i got snow off garage...but house has a very slight slant on it and much snow-at least 8 inches is still up there.

i was being cocky and thinking how great my insulation must be...for the snow to stay...but freezing rain on top of that cannot be good. i guess if it starts i will sleep in car with etta in drive...not under a tree.

my gutters are falling down and pulling boards with them...i think they are called fascia boards...i can see framing in attic and some is black. i dont dare try to pull snow off roof...i dont have my long rake and i would be too close if it let go

im trying to think looking at the black framing is some kind of blessing. i wouldnt have known it was there if the storm didnt pull down the gutters and boards...nothing i can do about it now for sure

last night i thought about writing to holmes on holmes. i love that guy. every show he has shows me something else they did wrong at this house. i wish he would take me on. i wonder how he would tell me to protect my house from the mold spores coming out of old cars parked in the lot next door.

hope everyone is warm and safe tonight. i know i will be totally crashed out before midnight.

see ya next year.

Able to stretch this am in bed when I first woke up. LOve it when that happens.

But, then when I got up I reallly struggled...needed to use the power chair but so many things around here need me to be on my feet.

I fed the dog and cat, cleaned a spot in the cat box, took mag and probiotics...made a cup of coffee and filled the sink with hot sudsy water and dirty dishes...the last two tasks I might have been able to do in the power chair but didn't. ...should have.

Resting now, then hoping to be able to go out to forest..nope...need to wait until the sun melts the ice/snow off of the windows in the car...too weak to scrap it off myself.

I really wonder how people do it that are wheel chair bound...guessing they have help.

So, next step is to get dressed and take Rosie out in the power chair....maybe wash those dishes that are in the sink using the indoor power chair.

I did wake up about 11:30 pm last night...guessing I fell asleep around 9 pm?

Not sure how long I waas kind of awake and kind of a sleep before I fell back to sleep.

So, hoping that is why I am so weak again this am.

I have a new caregiver that will be coming tomorrow. She is not able to do as much as my old caregiver.

So, back to things being a struggle. Not sure who to call to see if I can get my old caregiver back.

She told me that the new company was going to be changing caregivers each time. This is not good.

I like the new caregiver...she just isn't able to get much done in an hour.

kayak..not able to read all you wrote..but was thinking PEM Post Exertional (sp?) Malaise from all you have been doing.

I use a heavy duty down North Face sleeping bag when it gets cold here..which is nothing like it is there.

Concerned about you. I pray that things settle down for you in 2013 and your chores are just routine chores and you are able to do them.

ALW>..thanks for starting this week's thread.

kayak..looking thru you list of foods to omit.

I have omitted all those too but not sure about hidden gluten yet.

I also still have eggs...mabye 4 hard boiled eggs a week.

And I switched to goat's milk for dairy. I recall listending to one LLMD say that it is easier to digest and a good thing to replace cow's milk with.

I know all of those things you listed are known products to cause allergies so it will be good to see if they are effecting you or not.

I need to even omit popcorn..miss it. But, it does cause me to feel worse.

As I am typing this, I plan on giving away the Hickory Farms cheese and sauge I got for Christmas....not sure about the sausage but know I can't do the cheese.

Able to kind of clear th eice and snow off of the car window...easy peasy on the back window which is unusual as that one is usually the most difficult.

Drove out to the forest area but did not go all the way. I stopped at the beginning of the un developed area and let Rosie run.

She ran into Blue on the way back...it was fun watching them run and play...they both enjoy the snow and it showed.

The guy that has hiked the trail for years is Blue's owner. He was on his feet this am from his home to the undeveloped area.

He said he didn't want to take the chance of driving out to the end of the street where the trailhead starts.

I did not drive out to the end of the street either..I did not want to take the chance either.

But, on the way back one of the other hikers passed me in his car..so he made it to the end.

I was fading fast on the way back. I was trying to decide whether to explore another area or go home.

About that time what energy/strength I had dropped big time so I knew it was time to head home.

Hoping to be able to explore some more after 3 or 4 pm if health allows.

Needed my snow boots...my feet were hurting from the cold even though I did not walk in the snow and stayed in the car while Rosie ran and played.

Oh yeah. I started to try and clear the ice/snow off of the front window of the car and it got to be too much.

So, I got in the power chair and cruised in it a bit so Rosie could take care of business.

Then, I started in on the window again and success.

Two other people were trying to clear the ice off of their windows too when I first went out.

They were still at it after I had taken Rosie around the blk in the power chair.

One car had two people trying to clear things off. VEry unusual here to see a neighbor helping another neighbor.

Most are too sick themselves to help.

My neighbor two doors down was just dx with cancer of the pancreas. Stage 4.

She was one of the neighbors I enjoyed as she was out and about a lot. She just used the apartment as her home base.

I always wanted to ask her where she was traveling to when she was gone for weeks at a time.

Now, she is traveling down the hill to an assistant living place. Her days are numbered. Sad.

hi kam...u have been a lot busier than me today

after my post last night i got a call that the mountain house heat was out...it was after 8 or 9 i think and very cold...pipe problem...tenent problem

i was already tired from winter stuff here and i got kinda axious/grouchy with all involved. it all worked out well thanks to an understanding tenent, my brother, and the propane company who has a history of not being responsive...but this time was.

so it will be expensive---overtime holiday time and all...and i really cant understand how the propane ran out if a heater or stove was not left on high for a long time...tenent says no...

but the first problem in 7 1/2 months of having a tenent...so i know ihave been very lucky

jan and feb are ruff up there for the locals...for someone not used to it i knew it would be an adjustment....he is a big strong man but works in the cold so really needs to get warm at night

anyway...it seems to be done except for paying the bill...glad the pipes didnt freeze.

b4 that happened last night i planned on going out and clearing as much snow from drives and walks this morning...it started out in 30s and will be single digits later and cold for a week i think

but...im slow and hurting...i think i am just gonna catch up laundry and kitchen and make a last batch of cookies to pack up and send to kids. warm stuff. i will just go at my own speed.

i am looking forward to getting a working toilet soon...it will will make my life a lot easier...and when that goes in i can move my elliptical to where i can use it...i may even be able to set the sauna back up...if i start to lose weight with my new eating program detox will be important

so im gonna stay in and stay woam i think today...guess everyone else is partying big time...huh KAM??? no time for us!

whew-its 6 hrs after i wrote that and i made 2 batches of cookies and have them boxed up and ready to go to postoffice tomorrow and have the kitchen half clean...THAT was exercise for me...

Kayak..while channel surfing I saw that they are taking the eliptical outdoors.

It is kind of like a bike you stand on and moves when you push the machine with your feet.

It looked like fun.

Whewph. It will be so good when you have a toilet.

Hoping this tank of propane last for your tenants.

Propane is used here but a business owner i know used a plug in electric heater as it is much cheaper than the high cost of propane here.

Under $100 compared to $100's of dollars for the propane.

Filled the sink full of hot water and dirty glassses this am. I wanted to put the dishes away that I had washed yesterday but could no longer be on my feet.

I need to get in the habit of using the power chair to fill the sink and be on my feet to put away the dishes.

Lately I have been wondering what it would be like to have a place that is wheel chair friendly in the kitchen and linen closet, etc.

Resting now then planning on either putting the dishes away or washing the dishes in the sink.

An hour before it gets light out here. then, I will take Rosie out to toilet.

Kayak..I never was one that wanted to stay up late at a New Years Eve party and drink.

I'd prefer to get up an hour or two before dawn and drive to a place to camp or hike when I was working.

I preferred the great outdoors over being in doors with crowds and noise and back then smoked filled rooms. [Smile]

I always thought it was a big waste to spend so much money on liquor when children and family needed food.

I"d see the shopping carts full of liquor and think wouldn't it be nice if that money was going towards food for needy families.

I know my thinking is not main stream.

Wednesday-My car's not running again so had to get up early and car pool with the hubs. Am tired and still not exercising.

Have gained so much weight from the holidays. After last night at the Chinese buffet, the holiday trough is finally being put in storage! [Roll Eyes]

I've just got to get back on the stair climber. Glad to see you all are still motivated. Send some my way please.

I am done in but it is after 9 am. Up an down several times thi sam.

Up to help new caregiver find vacuum bags, up to hang up monthly calender and yearly calender, able to call vet and make a long over due appt.

Moved power chairs out into the hallway so caregiver could vacuum floors better...not worth it..remind me not to do that again.

Went down hall way to get Rosie as she ran out when I had the door open to move power chairs out into hallway.

Tried to find paper work for student loans but got side tracked with looking for vacuum bags and too weak now to take care of that.

Answered a few questions caregiver had...legit questions so OK with it...but worn out because of it too.

Ah yes, cleaned litter box out....I really liked it when I had the screen door open to the outside in the am and the evening and the cat went out to use the great outdoors...

Need to wait until the weather warms up before I do that again.

made note for maintenance man asking him to put the big pot on the floor again...need to water potted plants soon...it has been a long time and they are fading

Good thing they are cacti or they would be dead by now.

Caregiver washed the bathroom and kitchen floors on her hands and knees this am.

But, it is going to take more than one time to get over two years of dirt up.

Teh mop just seemed to move the dirt around for the most part.

I haven't checked the kitchen floor yet...but bathroom floor ...not good..wish I was able to give it a try.

Also able to order some things from vitacost on line...this takes my brain working and I do get exhausted with using the brain the same as moving the physical body.

I also was able to write out the check for rent...but not able to sign my name on the form for the caregiver.

I wrote out the check first thing this am and dropped it in the rent box.

Looking back, it was only one hour of getting up and into the power chair and doing a one thing, then laying back down and regrouping, then getting back up and doing one more thing.

amazing...If I were well I would have been able to do so much more in an hour.

Kam, you must have sent me some motivation. Did 20 minutes on the stair climber, 2 sets of 12 biceps curl, overhead triceps extension and leg lifts.

Didn't have time to squeeze in my ab workout but I'm off to a pretty good start.

Thanks you all for keeping me motivated!

ALW...feels good eh?

Whewph..I get wore out just reading all you have going on Kayak.

Yes. For the past two years or so, the caregivers have been mopping the floors. I have tried several mops as the floors were not coming clean.

I asked the maintenance man what he does to clean the floors when he has to get an apartment ready ...he said he gets on his hands and knees.

I use to do this too with my home before health went south.

This caregiver did wash by hand but the elbow grease was just not there...the floors here get lots of dirt in the cracks of the design.

I keep hoping I will be doing well enough one of these times to get on my hands and knees and wash them.

I did once a long time ago..the floors were filthy and the caregiver had just mopped them.

Able to finally fold and put away the two laundry baskets. One the caregiver had folded the sheets 3 or 4 weeks ago.

I was finally able to get them put away.

The other were towels that needed to be folded from about 3 weeks ago.

I finally got them folded and put away...missing a shelf of bath towels. Hoping they are in my laundry bin.

I also was able to put away the glasses from yesterday and wash a few more glasses this am.

I am OK if I have the power chair move my body..I start the huffing and puffing and weakness and off balance and extreme fatigue when I am on my feet.

apartment is too small so need to be on my feet a lot to put laundry away.

But, it helps to have those two laundry baskets that were on the front room floor put away..they were in the way of moving about in the power chair.

Lately, I have been wondering what it would be like to have a home that is power chair friendly.

Resting now, then hoping to be able to cruise on over to the feedstore in my power chair and to the bank....I need to think this thru...I think I will need my car for both places...so guess it is time to load the power chair and drive to feedstore and unload power chair and go into feedstore and then load it back up and then unload it when I get home.

I think the new lift will be more do able...no need to be on my feet tying the chair down with this lift...time to see how it goes.

Best case scenario would be to have a van that I just load the power chair into and then walk as step or two to the drivers seat.

At least I can use the car to help balance me as I walk back tot he lift area and from teh lift area to the drivers seat.

Able to load power chair and stop by feedstore, then drive out to forest area and cruise around for 10 est.

Joy rising when health is doing well enough to do this and because the lift is so much better with loading and unloading.

Lasted until about 10:30 am this morning. I am done in now.

[Frown] Got sinus issues again, or they never cleared up to begin with.

Had a killer headache last night so after taking hubs to work this a.m. went back to sleep until 10:20, got ready for work and went to Target to get some allergy and sinus medicine. Hopefully I can take them. I've got hypertension and know I have to be careful.

My sinus's started acting up when I had the mouse issue so I might have allergies. I don't really know but I didn't work out today.

Hopefully tomorrow I'll feel better and can get back in the swing of things.

Thanks gang for the motivation!

kam-i always did my floors on my knees...could never find a mop i liked...but after the knee replacements i cannot kneel.

so matter how hard i try...i cant. humbling.

so i once found a neat mop that you push this thing on the handle and it squishes the water out. and if i do a quick once over and then spray soap(now i use vinigar...right on floor and then scrub with clean mop-then rinse it so i always go back to floor with clean mop..lots of rinsing involved...that i was able to tolerate.

did you see the ad on tv (i dont know - maybe it was a joke)of toddler in onesies with the stuff they make mops out of sewed onto arms and legs...let the babies clean the floors...

anyway..what a day. could not sleep until 5:30 a.m.

got myself to PT while etta was getting groomed and when i came back i spent about an hour raking 3/4 of the roof...i feel safer now and it will warm up the next 4 days so hopefully some good melting will occur

im awful sore from PT...and with other stresses im grouchy about it. i think i have help thru the weekend and sure hope i can get back to my eating plan and going easier on myself after that

ak-hope you feel better...you know about many sinus infects being fungal right? i use sudafed...but many dont like it. some use netti pots...hope you figure it out

Feel better soon ALWW

Kayak..read your post but teflon brain forgot what I just read> [Smile]

Took Rosie out to toilet via PC this am ...burr..I am now a human popsicle.

Went to the field I usually go to yesterday...I knwo have dried mud down the hallway of the apartment complex, on my kitchen floors and in my front room.

I need to forget about that field until it dries out.

I need to leave in about 10 min to take Rosie to vet for rabies shot. Thankful for the Christmas money that is providing this.

Pretty weak this am...hoping I have what it takes to load the power chair...I think so...much easier than the old lift.

But, walking to the drivers seat is going to be tricky.

OK gang, did 20 minutes on the stair climber, 2 sets of 12 arm exercises and leg lifts and my ab video.

Kayak-I'm taking Tylenol Sinus Congestion & Pain Severe and a generic OTC allergy pill. Just what I need to hear that I have fungus in my nose! [lol] Sounds gross. BTW, never heard of netti pots, will have to google that one.

Kam-Was picturing Rosie and Lil Bit cavorting around the place. Made me smile. Glad to hear that you were able to save some money on the vet bill. I take Rocky to a friend of the hubs way out in the country and he saves me quite a bit too.

BTW gang, taking Mom and her best friend to see 'Les Miserables' tomorrow. My Mom is in her 80's and her friend in her 70's. They are both so tiny and cute. Sure I'll have a blast. Will let you all know how the big evening out goes.

oh-ak-you really should look into the sinus/fungal connection...even search on here - it is quite well known by us "chronics" but not by primarys...

the mainstream studies are starting to come out too...but it takes a long time for helpful info to sift down...esp when drug companies dont want it to

kam-glad you got that stuff done. i have been thru so much with vets...just like mainstream docs...i like old fashioned so much better.

the tip off for me is when you walk in a vets office and see a huge poster about the sx of dog depression and the meds for it

i have decided to stop PT

i was in so much pain after yesterdays treatment and today was way worse and could not walk with out walker...i have been in chair all day with ice and heat trying to do what i could on the phone and waiting for my friend to install the toilet. AND SHE DID!!! nuff said.

Hubby was able to soak in the tub this morning - said he wasn't feeling as tipsy today.

Felt kinda weird otherwise, but what's new about feeling weird with Lyme & co's?

Also gave him a hair cut this morning. Used a FlowBee borrowed from a friend. It worked nice! No hair to clean up afterwards. He was getting a headache from the noise of the sweeper till I was done.

This afternoon he had cranial therapy again. An hour later his bp was 117/76 !!

Had to wait too long for his supper and his stomach turned upside down. Not feeling so good at the moment. Took some peppermint capsules to help soothe his stomach.

manna Me..Hearo Ear Plugs help me with noise. Someone here on LN suggested them.

I had tried lots of other ear plugs and found they were a waste of money.

Able to give Rosie and I a sit down shower last night.

Able to feed the cat and dog, filll the sinnk with the dirty dishes adn hot, sudsy water, take pro biotics and mag, get a cup of coffee...resting now then hoping to wash dishes via sitting in the power chair.

Still dark out.

Saturday.

I'd like to get the dried mud (dirt) off of the floors but don't think I am strong enough to do that.

I'd like to put away the Christmas Decorations I was able to put up ...but other things are more important.

Hoping to be able to go to the grocery store today.

Feels nice to have clean hair and a clean body.

I have been trying to scissor cut Rosie the past few days. I like the old kitchen shears better than the ones I purchased on line for dog grooming.

But, the kitchen shears are too dull to cut now and the shears are purchased on line are supposed to stay sharp for a few years.

They are sharp and you do need to know wwhat you are doing...I don't. I could just hold the kitchen shears along Rosie's body and cut as they seemed to cut in the middle of the shear or close to the hidge.

The new shears seem to cut better at the pointed tip and the handle is very small...I fatgue fast just with the handle.

As I am typing this I wonder if it is too late to send them back...most likely not..I don't have the receipt any more but it is worth looking into.

I still need to do Rosie's face and feet and under her belly...those are the tricky areas.

I learned if I sit in the power chair on the street and then have Rosie stand on the sidewalk it helps a bit more.

I really goofed on her top notch this time. But, the hair will grow back quickly.

Finally doing well enough to try and vacuum the dirt from my power chair wheels.

I learned the vacuum I got from the thrift shop this time does not work. Wasted effort.

Guessing I will try another one from a thrift shop. Looks like I need to get dressed after all this am.

I was planning on staying in my PJ's and doing what I could around the house.

Just getting dressed uses up precious strength and energy.

How quickly this put me in a bad mood. Makes me mad that the caregivers that have been using the vacuum did not tell me it was not picking things up.

I did notice that the floors did not seem to look like they had been vacuumed.

Makes me mad too that I can't just go and purchase a good vacuum instead of having to go to the thrift shops and hope to get one that works.

I take that back. I just did a search on the web and if I don't want to go with a good quality vacuum...there are some for a few dollars more than what the thrift shops ask.

Haven't been around as I have been so sick and endless herxing. Finally feeling better esp since I am back on doxy. I am trying to walk 30min a day which equals out to 1.5miles a day. When my body tells me it can't I listen and take it easy. But I really believe this is a great way to detox and kill these dang buggers. It also makes me feel really good.

Disney...welcome back....wow...1.5 miles in 30 min is a good pace...

HOping you can continue to do this when able...very cool.

Kayak...so cool....ah the little things we take for granted that are not so little.

I have had a bad attitude lately. But, you know with lyme this can change on a dime.

got a couple of emails this am that helped.

I know I will feel better when I am able to get some things done.

Not sure what I will be able to do today. I need to get up and find my peltor ear protection muffs right now as the sound of the heater running is too much for the brain and body.

I was able to take the trash out this am wehn I took Rosie out to toilet.

Need to focus on can do's this am ...

Able to drive out tot he forest to let Rosie run. Drove down the dirt road while the boulders were gone to the Eagle's nest decking.

My heart sank when I saw they were taking it down. But, I understand as people were destroying it. Shame on those people.

Resting now, then not sure what I will be able to do if anything.

another slow day. i know i am in bad shape when i am here everyday...instead of in a barn or a river...

i can identify with many things you say kam

i guess the little i did last night outside-basically 10 minutes of freeing the gutters so the melting snow can get off the roof-i guess that was too much cuz i feel like i have been hit by a mac truck.

also had an electrical smell scare last night that set the detectors off but i am pretty sure it was cuz i plugged in a really old vacume . i put the vac ouside and aired out the house and it is ok now...etta really freaks when the detectors go off...she knows now to run to the door and wait for me...then i put her in car and come back to do what needs to be done.

i did sleep tho...until about 4-5 when shoulder was unbearable...im just trying to do a few things but may have to give in and take pain pills and just sit

it has warmed up to melt for the first time in over a week...and twice i heard snow slide off the roof. so that is good.

also-we are all getting a break from scarey weather i think...almost all of us anyway

Well haven't been on treadmill in 3 days I think.

Feeling kinda foggy last couple of days. Waiting for

the tree people to get out of my yard so I can get

on the treadmill. The room it is in looks out onto

the back yard and don't care to look at workers or

rather yet have them looking in on me lol. Hope

everyone is having a good week so far.
