ok. here we are. i cant post pretty pics or sayings. this is where we come to talk about how we exercise in our own way.
we have learned to go slow to start...except me. i dont seem to learn. 50 steps on the elliptical has knocked me down.
but i'll get back to walking and driving and riding and kayaking...maybe not tomorrow...but soon.
I WANT TO HEAR FROM AK...WHERE IS SHE???
and hope we get many new posters here in the new year

Wow, I didn't see my post from friday on last week's blog.
Thanks for starting this week's thread Kayak.
Didn't have snow where I'm at in Alabama. I must be to far south.
So far today I did 25 minutes on the stair climber, arm workout and leg lifts. For fun I did my ancient ab video.
Also took Rocky around the back of the property.
Josh, my nephew, has stepped up his workout routine putting just a wee bit of pressure on me to get in shape enough to get up the mountain this summer.
You guys have just got to help me!!!
Thanks for worrying about me!
See you all tomorrow!

I just removed my Exercise start up thread. OOPS.
Glad you showed up, AKL! We were ready to send out the Guard!!
I began juicing a few days ago. I killed out my friend's old juicer the first go-round. OOPS. She was not at all concerned. Said she wanted it out of her cabinet! I felt terrible.
Praying that I don't ruin the one my health coach loaned me!
Exercise?? What's that??

Today was a better day for my hubby... with some ups and downs.
He was able to work on his vinyl order awhile.
Did a foot detox.... and took TWO showers today!! One this morning and another one this evening before bed. Says the showers make him feel better.
Used the 5 lb weights a little bit too.
still has trouble being upright - has a lot of 'tipsy' feelings going on, so most of his day is spent in bed.

ArtnSoul... YES!! We want everyone!! We are here to encourage each other to do whatever exercise we can. Two of us have fallen by the wayside, but we keep plugging away at improvement.
MannaMe.. what is a vinyl order?? I agree on the showers. I felt so much better today after mine. It helps with pain.

Lymetoo, my hubby has a small business at home making vinyl word art to put on walls. Verses or sayings, such as 'Welcome Friends' to put on the front door or entry way.
He got a big order on Friday and it looked a bit overwhelming until I reminded him thats a sign his Breakthrough is coming! If the orders are still coming - he's going to get well so he can run his business full time!
The children and I are helping to get the orders done and sent out since he's basically bed bound since his hospital stays the past month. So for him to be able to work on the order even while in bed is a big deal for him. He's improving!

I walk about 5 days a week. My LLMD tells me I need to walk a lot.
I have been able to walk almost through all of this illness.
I like walking and do not feel sick when I am walking.
What a godsend to find something I can do to feel normal.

im wondering where you are in ks...i had a close friend in SE ks
late night last night-kinda scared about parasite stuff. slow morning. i need to deal with new problems and not sure how to do it.
so far taking care of self is my exercise.

Tuesday-25 minutes on the stair climber, leg lifts, arm workout and that ab video.
Walked Rocky around the back of the property.
TuTu-How are your feet feeling?
Art-Welcome. Anything you can do is considered exercise on this thread. We're all at different levels and try to encourage each other.
Manna-Vinyl word art sounds like so much fun. Wish I could do something creative for a living instead of being a receptionist.
Kayak-Kudos on doing the elliptical. Getting on is half the battle. Once I make the effort to get off the couch and onto the stair climber it's a done deal.
Cozy-Welcome. You are a powerhouse! Look at you walking 5 days a week!
See you all tomorrow!

Feet? --They are so-so... a little better and I'll take it!! I will begin physical therapy on my right foot next Monday. They will put some medications directly into my strained muscle to help fix it.
I HOPE I also get whirlpool or something in addition. Maybe I'll be able to walk again in a few weeks or months. Would be NICE!!!!
My lower back/hips have been horrible .. but it's finally improving also. We've been home about 12 days now and it's taken this long to get back to where I was before I left. Still have room for improvement to get back to square one.
Have a great day, everyone!
I'll send kam a message on FB.

well ak...i might have done too much with the 50 steps since i couldnt walk the next day-at all-and now bone scan is ordered...
but i know the machine is up and waiting for me when i get this leg thing figured out
i ran out of potty pads and really needed to go to walmart which is a big deal for me. i dont do it but every few months. i wasnt sure how i would do...i took the walker...to get to the motorized cart...but wasnt sure how i would carry i
turned out there was a push cart near the handicap spot so i leaned on that to get to motorized cart...and it didnt run out of gas and i got almost everything on my list and drove it right back to the car.
when i park in carport it is only 2 steps to inside house---a few days ago i couldnt do that...but today i did
so i did get some exercise. i am resting now and waiting for housecleaner to call so we can schedule her. all her references checked out really well.
and im glad to know i can drive myself to doc tomorrow...it is so crazy how this comes and goes

This is so cool...I like this idea! Thank you for accepting me into the group. Lately, my "exercise" has been just the necessary housework - laundry, cooking, and light cleaning.
When I go to the grocery store - I do always make a point to park far away from the entrance so that I have to walk...every little bit helps.
Yesterday, I got out my rebounder (mini-trampoline) - so far - I've just been looking at it, LOL!!

Wednesday-Bagel day here at work!
So 25 minutes on the stair climber, (should have made it 30 cause of the bagel) leg lifts, arm workout and my ancient ab video.
Walked Rocky around the back of the property and tried in vain to stop him from eating deer poop.
TuTu-Do they put the meds in via ultrasound? That helped my elbow before. Glad that you're feeling better. I know I have problems too from sitting for long periods of time.
Kayak-Setting up the elliptical is half the battle. With mine right there in the livingroom I can't avoid it! You know Kayak that you get points for motivation even though the body isn't cooperating at the moment.
Art-Looking at a trampoline counts as exercise in my book.
Kam-Hang in there. Sending you a big hug!

I just got back from getting my orthotics redone. They feel great!! I had to walk on my feet a little bit without them so my Rt foot hurts. I guess it will recover.
We went to the pawn shop and got a TV to replace the one that broke while we were gone for Christmas. How does a TV break while not being used???

I went from being flat on my back to driving Rosie out to the forest area 3 miles away.
I know most would not call this exercise.
But, I ended up being able to sit like a low rider in the car for est 1 hr and a half...part 65 mph highway and a mile and a half on a very smooth dirt road.
I think it was 17 miles from home total.
Good to get out of the house.
Oh yes. I got side tracked today by a hot air balloon I saw in the sky to the North.
It was a bit like trying to find the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.
I had to abandon getting closer to the hot air balloon when I saw it go behind the Rim (mtn range)
Strange..the whole time I was out my left arm was not hurting or throbbing. It is throbbing again as I lie here.
I find it very strange that when I try to use the brain to listen to what the caregiver is saying to me....my body heats up and is way to hot.
Or if I tell Boomer, one of the service dogs here, hello...I start that dry cough thing.
But, I am able to sit low rider style in the car and have the car move my body.
AT least for this am. I dont' know when I will be able to get out and explore again.
But, it was good to get out of the apartment.
I let Rosie run on the dirt road. She went under the barb wire fence to get an Elk Leg...hunters leave those laying around.
Neither one of us could figure out where she went under the fence so I drove about 3/10 of a mile while she ran along the fence until we could find a place for her to get back on the road.
It was a good adventure. I have been wanting to explore that area. I learned there are cabins out there.
I was not able to get to the cabins ass I did not have the secret code to unlock the barrier.
I also saw places where people had camped...left over rock campfire pit.
So, it might be a good place to go camping in the summer time. It would be a bit cooler there...maybe 10 degrees cooler??
Even being on my feet moving around in the apartment is out.
This disease is such a mystery.

Thursday-25 minutes on the stair climber, leg lifts, arm workout and yes, that ab video.
Took Rocky around the back of the property.
Have my deep tissue massage/cranio-sacral appointment tomorrow and I can't wait. Shoulder and neck are giving me fits.
TuTu-I hope the new orthotics work out. And as to a tv breaking down while not in use, was it too cold in the house? I bought an older plasma tv last year that seems to not like the cold or maybe it's my satellite. I'm not sure.
Kam-Glad that you and Rosie had an outing today. Camping sounds like alot of fun. I used to enjoy it when I lived in AK and would go with friends.
Hope everyone has a great day!

kam... That IS exercise!! Sounds great!! I hope you continue to feel a bit better!!
When I was in Lyme treatment I used to just get in the car and drive so I could get out of the house. It was very therapeutic for me. I felt free!!
I haven't driven in several months. I told my husband today that if my feet and back got better (they seem to be now!!) that I was going to be like a new person.. re-born for sure!!!!
I so want to be able to do my own shopping again and just drive if that is all I can do. I think I could drive now if it weren't for my bad RIGHT foot. But I can't walk very much, so "going somewhere" gets me nowhere!
AKL... I had an old TV.. it was 15 yrs old. It's the one I have next to my computer. I watch while I surf. I found a "new" one at the pawn shop! It is great!! PS.. we had our thermostat set at 65 while we were gone.
I hope to get a massage very soon. My health coach found a lady she wants me to see.
.. and I just got my hair cut today and my hairdresser could tell that my hair is thicker and has a SLIGHT wave to it. (it's very straight) So that is evidence to me that my healthy eating is helping!!

Poop Patrol this am. Able to pick up Rosie's poop...4 deposits.
I was really feeling off at teh end of it ...needed a V 8...but glad I was feeling well enough to do it.
Resting now, then hoping to do a few dishes and make the fresh lemon and honey and sea salt drink.
And drive Rosie the 3 miles to the forest to let her run. I am still in my PJ's.
I was in my Pj's when I went on the drive yesterday too...just have my coat over them
Hoping to be able to take a shower and put on clothes some time today too.

Able to do one sink full of dishes. Still need to put them away and do another sink full.
I also tried to clean the oven door ...put too much oil in a baking dish the other day and it was toxic it got so hot...
..also turned on the smoke detectors
...Although the kitchen cloth I was using turned black there still is a lot of cleaning of the oven to do...not sure the glass baking dish will come clean. Might be a goner.
Able to drive Rosie out to the forest to run. I was in my PJ's.
I sat on a rock and trimmed her hair a bit just so I could be in the forest..that rock started seeing too much traffic and dogs so drove on down to another area.
That rock was the wrong height to sit on in that area.
I still need to trim a lot more of Rosie...done in now..not sure why my arm hurts when I am laying down.
If I put it over my head it doens't hurt so much...but I am too weak to do that for very long.

Friday!!! Friday!!! Friday!!!
My feet and legs are just a going underneath my desk as I type this. My version of stealth dancing.
No exercise today. Had deep tissue and cranio-sacral therapy today. She worked quite a bit on the front of my shoulder, so I'm pretty sore.
My LMT is wonderful and she's very optimistic that she can help alleviate most of the pain that I have. Course, I've been like this for 10 years so she's expecting it to take some time but I'd be thrilled not to have so much pain.
Well, I didn't want to mention it but it's my B-day today.
I was going out by myself but a co-worker and his girlfriend are going to meet me after work for a glass of wine.
My plan is to go have a fancy cheese plate and another glass of wine at a different place afterwards and then go to listen to some jazz.
OK, enough of my belly aching that I'll be spending most of my B-day by myself. You'd think I'd be used to this by now......
Good to read everyone's posts and I promise not to be in such a funk the next time I post.

i did move around some in the wc trying to get a little organized for a helper that is coming tomorrow. that is my exercise.
kam-when i got etta 2 yrs ago and she was giving the groomers a hard time i bought clippers...it didnt take long to realize there is no way i can clip her. i gave them to my dil who has 2 little dogs.
grooming every 2 months is expensive...but it is one thing i keep in the budget. the mental health therapy etta gives me is worth it. there are other things i can go without.
had long talks with a brother and son today. im about ready to hunker down. nite

Yeah, I over-did it for sure...still recovering.
Not to mention the fact that I have a bad headache too (along with the rest of the pain/fatigue)
...Just realized it's a full moon - it sounds crazy - but over the years I have found there is a pattern
...during the full moon, I almost always have a worse headache than my "normal" daily headache...
I don't keep track of when there is a full moon - when my headache gets worse, I end up checking -
and sure enough I find out we have a full moon!
Crazy, huh?

Too bad you don't have any Thieves essential oil. That helps protect.
There is something called Loviral too .. health food stores.
kayak.. next time pay them PER JOB .. not per hour... that way they have to DO the JOB to get the $$$.
I always panic when I have to go to the hospital .. I understand your concern. Try to trust it will all work out. I'm more worried about your spine than a virus!
I'm off to physical therapy tomorrow. Not sure she will DO anything.. may just evaluate me.
