My daughter has lyme and all co infections and has been treated by some of the best, and recently had a child, she has been having seizures for the past year, during this time our LL neurologist left. Now to get to the point she moved out of our house this past Dec because she gave birth to a baby boy, after 6 weeks her boyfriend beat her up, the police were called and a 51A was filed they took the baby, it took a few weeks but I was able to get foster kinship of him, it is now time for her to go to court, at first they told her to get rid of the boyfriend (who is the father) which she did, now today they want to know what she will do with having a child and having seizures and her illness, Is there any legal clause that would prevent her from having a child because she is so sick:( We live in Western Mass, she is in bad shape but I do honestly believe she will commit sucide if they don't let her have her child back, I also have lyme and with all this going on I went from being ok to pretty sick. PLEASE SOMEONE HELP ME

I think you should post this in another area (ex. General Support or Medical).

She could place the baby in daycare during the day. That's what I have to do due to my illness and treatment.

Could you call Social Services and see if there are any resources? Since there is already a Kinship Care case, it sounds like they could help with supportive services like childcare assistance, etc. Their goal is to keep the family intact if possible.

I am no lawyer.

PM sent with a suggestion.

Btw - please break up your posts into 2-3 sentence paragraphs, as there are people on Lymenet who cannot read large blocks of text due to neurological problems from Lyme. Thanks.

Hi Ms Scampi,

Try to look at this website and you and your daughter can contact them. It is janedoe.org and it helps victims of domestic violence.

It is free of charge, safe, and they may be able to guide you and your daughter through the legal system.

And please make sure she as an active restraining order in effect.
