Twenty GREAT Reasons to go to the New York Rally

1) FABULOUS SPEAKERS - see http://nyclymerally.blogspot.com/ - Really Exceptional!!

2) It will **** everyone off who doesn't believe in CHRONIC!!

3) You will be part of a national and international event which will garner exceptional attention for YOUR cause and this could make a significant difference both now and in the future.

4) Union Square Greenmarket will be there on the North and West Sides of Union Square park. http://www.grownyc.org/greenmarket-site/manhattan/union-square-greenmarket GOODIES! (have no calories at Lyme events! Doctor approved!)

5) So you can always say, forever after, you got in the New York Groove for Lyme Disease & Co.

6) V. and so many others have worked for weeks and months to make this a success. We can't let them down - or the rest of the country who who are watching. Let's make them Happy, Happy, Happy!

7) Because you have the Warrior Spirit and you need to be around others of Like Spirit to recharge it.

7) Good Subway Service takes you close. To get there once in NYC, You can take 4,5,6 subway train from Grand Central - 4,5 it's one stop downtown. Or 6 it's 4 stops going downtown.

For subway map see http://www.mta.info/maps/submap.html

8) Great Bus Service - The buses will get you on even if you are disabled! They even "kneel" or fold out a ramp! And you pay half price if disabled.

BUSES: see map at http://www.mta.info/nyct/maps/manbus.pdf

9) Out-of-towners come easily by Bus into Port Authority at 42nd and 8th.

10) Easy MTA Bus service from 42nd Street to Union Square Park.

To go by bus walk down 42nd to Fifth AVenue or take the 42/M42 bus over to Fifth Avenue and transfer.

b. From 42nd street and Fifth avenue, take the 1, 2, 3 or 5 bus (M1, M2, M3 or M5) DOWNtown (one way street) and get as close to Union Square as you can, then walk over (the park is between 17th and 14th street - ask the driver where to get off for 14th street).

11) Easy bus service back to Port Authority: At the end of the day, go UPtown by catching the 1, 2 or 3 buses on Park Avenue, which is on the opposite side of the Park. This would take you back to 42nd street. Then take the 42/M42 to Port Authority at 8th avenue and 42nd street.

12) Avoid the Drive - come by train, into Penn Station or Grand Central Station, then walk over to Fifth Avenue, and proceed as above in 10b.

13) Smartphone Taxi app may be up and running.

See http://www.yellowcabnyc.com/ Otherwise just stand by the curb and raise arm for a taxi.

14) Wear a Green Ribbon and Lyme folks will travel with you!!! Maybe even split the bill!!!

15) Easy to find a restroom in NYC.
See http://www.nyrestroom.com/

NYC FREE Apps for phones, incl. restroom apps, transit apps, see http://www.timeout.com/newyork/own-this-city-blog/favorite-free-nyc-apps

16) New York City is so accessible by PATH train also.
PATH trains NJ/NY link http://www.panynj.gov/path/

Maximum price one way is $2.25 - can't beat that!!

Maps and Schedules http://www.panynj.gov/path/maps-schedules.html

17) To see if OptiMisTick is REALLY going to do the IDSA ``Shake!'' The Racy Version!

To see if the crowd does the Shake at the end!!

18) Interesting Nearby attractions for afterward! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Union_Square_ and click on the New York link for Union Square

19. To see if there is a prize for Best Sign. To read and admire as many signs as you can!

20) To go with me to St. Patricks' Cathedral afterward to give thanks.

Good Luck on your Lyme Journey!

If the above 20 reasons don't induce you to get to a Lyme event today - we need your International thoughts and blessings and energy.

Please think of all of those who are out today and this weekend, all over the world, as sick as they are, in a united effort.

Remember this the rest of the year - together we will make it happen.

Now UP!
