Hi <<<<< Lyme Family >>>>>,
I came up w/ a respiratory/sinus bug about the 14th of May. Tho't it was allergies, still fighting it...but not coughing 'til I almost pass out now.
TxCoord is resting right now, and has been suffering w/ a swollen ankle. He is awaiting some more medical tests to be scheduled [Kidney/abdominal CT etc]. And we are waiting on his disability hearing as well. No more news yet.
We are still here ,and still adjusting to the area. Just checking in...

Ugh, sorry to hear that you've been sick. Did you have a fever? Was the cough productive (produced mucus)?
Influenza symptoms include high fever, severe headache, and severe dry cough. The cough and fatigue may linger for weeks.

Hello there <<<<< lpkayak, rera', Lymetoo, Carol', Dogsandcats, and Jane' >>>>>,
Thanks for the Feel Better commiserations! I'm still pretty weak. Tried to get out too soon,to an appt. w/ TxC' last week[my cough was mostly gone, but came back w/ fever again].
He is trying to get his ankle to calm down, he's getting a few groceries...hopefully using his wheelchair.I'd rather have gone with him,but I don't dare yet.
This seems to be a spring flu virus. So far TxCoord has not got it!!! He has enough concerns with VA trying to schedule med tests we aren't sure what are for.In past they mixed TxC's ID up w/ someone else, it was caught before any damage was done.
Someone is checking on the testing for us, as TxC' must be prepared to travel out of state to the VA disability hearing.
[One of the tests they mentioned, literally out of the blue, may be somewhat invasive and dangerous... so we are asking questions, before he submits to puzzling medical tests].
Sometimes it is downright scary...they are supposed to be returning call w/ what they want the test for. They initially cancelled one that he needs yearly, called a week later and want to do something else quite different ????? It's confusing...
When they give us the final info for the hearing TxC' must be ready to travel, and not sidelined because of some potentially invasive medical test.He has been fighting for this VA disability hearing since the fall of 2009.
Sorry this is getting long... I'm about to melt most likely fever again... so off to rest for a bit.
Worn down but keeping on... jus' Silverwolfi here

Jus' me again with symptoms of this bug: cough, excess mucous[ in ugly colors ], congestion ,runny nose/alternating stuffy congested nose.
Sinus pain, tightness in chest, rattling cough, fever,[more feverish than chills], and downright totally weary, that run over by a truck feeling.
At first the cough wasn't productive[the first week mostly, got a 'Tussin' type med that shouldn't raise my BP, chest rattle is far less now. The 'Tussin has helped some, unfortunately my legs ache and feel like lead.
Not meaning to whine and grump...right now even my whimperer seems broke... please be careful out there. This bug is really harsh.
SIlverwolfi here BBL

I had the worst cold virus of my life this April and into May. It seemed like it would NEVER let go! I still get mucous in my throat and clear it more often than I would like!
I hope those tests end up being less invasive than they could be!

Hi <<<<< rera' >>>>>,
This is shaping up to be an odd year for colds/flu it seems. Take care of yourself, you don't need that cold to worsen. Sometimes these bugs do seem to take forever and a day to go away.
TxCoord and I were talking about this, especially w/o having good immune systems.
Had hoped we'd here something about these tests they want TxC' to have...nothing yet.VA is a lot of hurry up and wait on medical stuff it seems.
For me, I am trying not to get frustrated, that if I try to do anything,I get slammed w/ a headache,or the cough starts in again. I am better than say, a week ago, so that is something.
Jus' Silverwolfi BBL again

Try to keep up that positive attitude. I swear that has gotten me further than many other treatments.
But man, it can be hard to find sometimes!
Continuing to send you hopes for healing!

Hi <<<<< Lyme Family >>>>>,
Jus' updating here. I have a blood test coming up next week, regular things such as A1c and so on.
Then end of week TxC' has his kidney and abdominal CT..and Barium drink and fluroscope.
I'm still getting over the resp.flu, but finally some better, it really wears one down. And TxC' is still fighting ankle swelling after an injury.
Met some neighborhood wildlife TxCoord opened the gate Sunday to get the car out for Church and :
A rather tall long tailed, long beaked bird peered at us from around the front bumper...Meep Meep boing-boing-boing !!! Hello Roadrunner!!!
Funny lookin' critter and boy can they run. They are common here tho' this is the first one we've seen.
It was tan, medium brown, black and white, w/ cresting on the head. I'd call it almost multi- speckled but not sure if that is a fitting description.
There's been an early summer heat wave here, temps bouncing between 100' and *111'*, which shouldn't happen for six or eight weeks yet...or so we've been told.
We've stayed out of the heat as much as possible AC is holding up,unfortunately the Mobile home Park we rent in has been having water problems.
This time, water was off for almost 24 hours. It has happened 6 times since we moved to this area, anything from three hours w/o water to,a full day and a half.
We've learned to keep full jugs of water on hand, and keep the tub full. If things go well w/ TxC's VA disability hearing [in aprox. a month], we may end up moving.
Most of the areas, seem to keep their water systems in better repair than this place. I hope they resolve matters,we like the area and the Landlord...
we'll see what happens, and keep y'all informed when we know more. Not thrilled about the possible move, as we haven't got all our things here from SE Idaho yet. Hopefully we can get the last truck ;load before fall weather hits.
Yeah, things are still 'up and down' some, but the -ups- are finally out weighing the -downs, hopefully it will continue to get better.
Jus' Silverwolfi updating what's up w/ us!
