That just tells them how often they have to review your case to see if you're still disabled.

"Medical improvement expected"= means they review your disability in a year.

"Medical improvement possible"=3 years

"Medical improvement not expected"=7 years

Lax mom, dang it. I was going with they had a crystal ball and could see my future.

What a relief. No more paperwork or stressing over it. Getting a lawyer was the best thing I did.

Now I can be sick in peace

I get a 2 page form from them every 3 years. Questions about dr visits, hospital visits, etc and dates. Did I work?

They have never investigated me further by sending for info from all my doctors. They just send me a letter stating my disability is continuing.

So munchin, continue to keep a file of doctors visits and paperwork going. You will need to refer to things in your lyme sucks file.

That's what I named my file. [cussing]

I know that is such a load off your shoulders. I had to go to a hearing. I cried when I won.

Pam, I'm glad to know that they don't investigate you further. I worry so much about that.

Map great advice. Can I use you file name I like it. I was not told what they approved my disability for.

The curiosity is killing me. I have no issues other than lyme.

munchin,

What they approved your disability for should be in your approval letter.

Pam,

I was awarded based on symptoms with the diagnosis of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, othrostatic hypotension, and Depression.

Yes, this disease, abandonment from those who don't understand, and fighting the system - yep you get depressed. And the illness makes you depressed itself because of inflammation.

I was just figuring out that I had lyme when I filed for disability. My lyme test was negative, and I had been treating for years for CFS, so I just went with that when I filed.

Rivedell,

My letter does not state my disability. Just dates amounts and review dates. Not one word about the reason for disability.

munchin,

They probably haven't sent you all the info yet.

They tend to send everything in segments.

munchin,

Be sure to keep good medical records with the doctors stating exactly how well or poor you are doing, because they will review your case in a year to see if you have substantially improved.

See above: "Medical Improvement Expected"

I hope that in a year you will be well.

munchin, you should receive a complete documentation covering your case from the judge.
Which will give you much more info on your case.

I never found out why I was approved. I didn't get to the judge point, so my letter only said that I was approved and that was it.

I like your file name too map! [Wink]

That's weird lax mom....why wouldn't they send more than just the approval cover letter? I would think you (everyone) would be entitled to the entire judgment/findings.

After all it does involve your case and their findings?????

Maybe that's why you didn't get all the info.

All mine came straight from the judge.
