I've finally got Lyme at least somewhat under control, been on this treatment since 2009.

Finally making progress, managed to keep going for 6 weeks solid, every now and then I'd do too much, stumble a bit, but never stopped.

Passed a kidney stone Sunday, knocked me on my butt afterwards, now all the Lyme & Co. is kicking my ass.

I get to start all over again.

Lyme isn't all about the antibiotics, garlic, vitamins, etc... it is about how many times we get knocked flat out on our asses, wiped completely out, and get up and start all over again with baby steps and build back up to being a human being again.

As far as Lyme goes I am extremely fortunate or extremely stubborn. I've had it since '91. My primary symptoms were always neurological, but got better with antibiotics. I realize how many of you are completely shut down with this.

Fun stuff... almost like recovering from 6+ weeks bed rest healing after a serious accident, some people go through that once or twice in a lifetime. Seems I do it five times a year.

Aww man!

That sucks! I'm sorry you are back at the bottom of the hill again!

Interesting to know that the trauma of a kidney stone (ouch!), started lyme up again.

Less that it started it, more like I had a handle on it, kept active in spite of it.

I got slowed down significantly, so all the Lyme nonsense now has a pretty damn good foothold.

Do you realize that Lyme may be the cause of kidney stones?

The Lyme bacteria uses our magnesium, causing a deficit throughout the body.
The body pulls calcium from the bones to compensate, and the higher level of calcium in the blood causes problems.

Excess calcium can precipitate and cause stones in the kidneys.
To remedy this, take magnesium and B vitamins to help prevent more kidney stones.

I'm taking mag and B.

Kidney stones are pretty heavy in my family.

As in everyone from my great-grandmother down has multiple (20+) over their lifespan.

Just got good genes I guess.

You're already taking mag and B?
Good.

I read about a study that looked at people who had kidney stones, and those that started magnesium had significantly fewer later episodes than people who did not take magnesium.

I had a "stuck" kidney stone fifteen years ago.
After I passed it, it felt as though someone had kicked me in the belly.
My dad was getting kidney stones every seven years, ugh.
I believe that many of his symptoms over the years may have been due to Lyme.

With the studies going around, it is sounding like a lot of people with Lyme are asymptomatic or have mild symptoms.

It is possible that it is far more widespread than even we think it is.

Gotta love medical politics keeping this kind of stuff under their thumb.

Are you also taking lots of vitamin c? Another important thing that can prevent kidney stones.

Can't take vitamin C. For some reason it immediately supercharges fungal infections for me.
