I am so embarassed.

I am in a bad herx and at my doc appt today I said the f word unnecessarily.

Not at my doc, because he is an angel, but at my symptoms.

I couldn't think of or say good descriptors for my symptoms, all my brain could come up with was the f word.

Now I am mortified and crying and panicing about my behaviour.

I didn't remember my swearing until just about an hour after my appt.

I am mortified.

What should I do? Should I phone or email to apaologize? Should I bring it up at my next appt?

It is not my nature to be swearing, unless something happens like burning myself or catching my thumb in the car door.

But today the f word was the only word my mind could find.

Very sad and depressed about my swearing today.

Well, I'm with you. I would be freaking out too. Some here will tell you that they say that word all day long.

I would just apologize at your next appointment. If you send him a note, it will end up in your file! Not good! [Big Grin]

Now that's a word I really struggle not to use except in traffic and when I'm alone.

Your human and it (using the f world) was reflective of the space you were in and the frustration you were feeling at that moment.

If this is not your true nature simply explain this to your llmd during your next visit. I am sure all will be forgotten and try not to beat yourself up.

Im sorry I cannot read through the posts.

Greta; I heard about a pastor somewhere in my area who had lyme and bartonella a while ago. Apparently he was quiet, extremely polite, and never swore. After becoming ill, he swore almost uncontrollably and was quite vulgar. I believe he recovered and got back to his old self.

I am very sick. The past few years I have sworn so much the words have literally completely lost all meaning. Might as well be saying kitty cat [Smile]

Part of it is the torture and frustration and sadness. But I can feel it is beyond that. I have great difficulty filtering what I say. Part of it is the trouble I have talking, but it is also just a destroyed filter I think.

As optimistick said I would not worry about it.

It could be worse [Razz]

Wish it came out like that instead. Oh, wait, it does, that's what my word search pause in mid sentence must sound like as I stumble around (better now, but, hate that!)

My sweet 'affected' daughter doesn't know the grown up swear words, but caught on real quick what words could hurt or convey anger (her filter is broken)

It's better now, but when she was really young and couldn't pronounce things, I'd get called hideous, but pronounced 'hidyness' or something. (Never corrected that with her)

Got called some other stuff too. All learned from Spongebob TV cartoon she says, when pressed.

It's sooooo much harder for young kids - their filter is broken without the net of emotional maturity to pause, or to consider later regret.

Greta I guarantee your Dr. didn't bat an eye. But do bring it up next time to make yourself feel better. Tell him your friend thinks it's Bart and see what he says ;-)
