No depression, but my husband has anxiety.

He is on an anti anxiety med which helps take the edge off.

He has a roll on bottle of Sombra from the chiropractor that helps relax tight muscles. It helps some to calm the anxiety by rolling it on his back especially over the spine... Central nervous system area.

Also has index cards with affirmations, Bible verses to read over several times a day. Uses them more on higher anxiety days.

Soaks his feet in a bucket of Epsom salt water at least once a day, sometimes twice a day.

Takes extra Cataplex C and extra PLUS.

Tries to avoid the things that trigger the anxiety - one of them is doing too much - not stopping and resting soon enough. Laying down flat to rest, not sitting in a chair.

Hope some of this helps... anxiety is no fun.

These illnesses, because of what they do to the brain and nervous system through inflammation and other damage, cause depression and anxiety as a symptom.

You must treat the infection and inflammation.

For inflammation, I have had good luck with the following Buhner herbs:

Green Tea
Japanese Knotweed
Eleuthero/Rhodiola/Ashwagandha

The Eleuthero is also a good antidepressant.

I also take antibiotics.

And if there is an activity you can do that brings you joy, DO IT. Take time to forget about these illnesses. It really helps.

Sorry you are still suffering, phyl. Have you considered B12 shots, cultured vegetables or essential oils? All three will help anxiety and depression.

Any exercise, however short or small, really helps me with depression. It always has.

Also, reading the Bible or books about God really help me. I also write poetry--both praising God (and some negative poems to help get rid of those negative thoughts)

Blessings. Hiker53

Sitting in a fir sauna really helps me.

Also, I have been taking resveratrol (SP?), and think it is also helping.

Hope you get some relief, anxiety/depression is the pits. [group hug]

Um...I don't know if I am depressed, per say.

Just so darn sick.

In so much pain.

I do pray for mercy and death when the pain gets overwhelming.

So about 5/7 days...haha.

It is hard because we lose so many "friends" and family with these infections.

Not a lot of support.

I am praying for you.

Are you able to bundle up and either sit outside and get some fresh air and sun? Or go somewhere where you can watch others go about their day? Like a coffee shop or library?

Sometimes that pulls me from a funk.

It is OK to feel sad or sorry for ourselves once in a while too, though.
