"They will be my people, and I will be their God. I will give them singleness of heart and action, so that they will always fear me and that all will then go well for them and for their children after them. I will make an everlasting covenant with them: I will never stop doing good to them, and I will inspire them to fear me, so that they will never turn away from me. I will rejoice in doing them good and will assuredly plant them in this land with all my heart and soul." ~Jeremiah 32:38-41
Are there any sweeter words than the promise of our Lord..."They will be my people, and I will be their God."
He never stops doing good to us. He rejoices in doing us good! And when he inspires us to fear him...it is for our good, that all will go well for us, and so that we will never turn away. I like to remember that when times get difficult and my heart is downcast and weary...I am not alone. Even this, however bad it gets, he can use for my good. And if I stray and wander, as we are all prone to do...he will bring me back, and inspire me to fear him so that one day, I will never turn away. He will give us singleness of heart and action, so that we won't be divided in a million directions but focused on him in the busy-ness of life, his glory and grace giving us direction as we make decisions and choices.
We never walk alone.
He promises, with all his heart and soul. May we respond with our love and our praise, with all our heart and soul, and give him the honor due his name.

I am so glad I came here this afternoon. Thanks Greta for the reminder that God has PREPARED (past tense meaning it has been done) great things for us.
Merry, thank you for the reminder that God is always doing good to me.
Today is a very dark day for me. Enemy wants to convince me that I am never getting out of this pit that I find myself in.
But why are you so downcast o my soul? Hope in your God!

soccermama,
I am saying a prayer for you now.
Keep declaring the name of Jesus as the Truth and make that enemy leave!!
Hugs dear friend!...and that is a very pretty song. I saw Audrey Assad in concert with Matt Maher a couple years ago. She has a beautiful voice and message.

A couple of years ago my husband's doctor was on a medical missions trip to the Dominican Republic, to a very poor area with no running water and no access to medical care. In one of his updates he wrote this:
"Visited a lady who has been bedridden for 17 years and asked if she needed anything. Her reply--'I have Jesus, I don't need anything else.' How humbling to see her faith."
When I rise...when I am alone...when I come to die, Give me Jesus.

I just read a great book called "Expecting Miracles" by Heidi and Roland Baker.
They are missionaries who started Iris Ministries. They spend most of their time in remote parts of Africa and other parts of the world.
The stories of extreme poverty, horrible suffering, and people coming so willingly to Jesus are amazing.
They describe many, many healings that took place, just during the year or so covered in the book.
Many blind, deaf and people who were unable to walk, were instantly healed when they came to Jesus and the missionaries prayed for them.
It is a very inspiring book.
I looked at the Iris Ministries Website. They have really grown and have lots of bases in Africa and other places.
It's worth reading if anyone is looking for a good book.

Psalm 105:1-45
Oh give thanks to the Lord;
call upon his name;
make known his deeds among the peoples!
Sing to him, sing praises to him; tell of all his wondrous works!
Glory in his holy name;
let the hearts of those who seek the Lord rejoice!
Seek the Lord and his strength;
seek his presence continually!
Remember the wondrous works that he has done, his miracles, and the judgments he uttered,

Thanks to all who prayed and to God's unfailing love. I am much better today. When I have a bad herx or flair or whatever someone wants to call it, I get hit emotionally.
I cried on and off for several hours. Part of me knows that it is just a phase, the other part gets totally immersed in it.
Merry, the people like that lady inspire me. I used to feel guilty because I am not in that place. Now, I use it as a weapon when the enemy attacks because I know if all a bedridden lady needs is Jesus, then He is truly all that is needed.
There is a shelter in the most High.
Dekrator, I have been to two conferences where Heidi Baker spoke. She is a phenomenal woman and God used her in both of those conferences to set me free.
She is another person that inspires me to know that God is enough.
The Lord's lovingkindness indeed will never cease. And His compassion will never fade away. They are new every morning. They are new every day.
Great is God's faithfulness.
Pocono, I know that you are struggling right now. May God reveal His faithfulness to you.

soccermama,
I am very thankful that you are feeling better.
That would be awesome to hear Heidi Baker speak at a conference. God sure had a plan for you when you went to hear her.
From reading their book and reading on their website, I could really sense how much she loves everyone unconditionally, and how much hardship they go through to bring the word of God to very remote parts of the world.
Continued prayers for you, Pocono, sammy and her Mom, and all our lymenet friends.

Isaiah 53 starts out with a question, In the KJV it asks "Who hath believed our report?" In other translations, it says, "Who hath believed our message?"
The rest of the chapter is about what Jesus accomplished on the cross. God is still asking that question today.
In my dark moments, I can hear Him ask, "will you believe my message?" You know such as He gives peace that passes understanding...He desires wholeness...etc.
I don't understand why things happen and the bible never answers the question why.
But God has given us a remedy...to believe His message...That is our mandate.
