My niece, Kelly, is 28 weeks pregnant with identical twin boys. She is in the hospital having mild contractions.
Please pray for the contractions to stop and for the babies to be full term and healthy.
I really appreciate your prayers!!
Thank you friends!

Update: They sent her home after a dose of med to stop labor.
They are culturing her urine. Other tests and exam were good.
She will be resting a lot and drinking fluids.
Please continue to pray that the contractions do not return unless she is full term and the babies are born healthy.

So glad they got the contractions stopped. How much are they estimating the twins are weight wise now?
Prayers both the boys calm down and momma's body just let things rest for awhile.

Thanks for the prayers, map1131 and GretaM!
I'm not sure what her last ultrasound showed as far as weight, map, but I do know that they have looked healthy and have been growing fine.
Kelly and her husband are very excited! First babies for them.

I'm sorry, I just saw this Dekrator. I'll be praying now too.
You prayed for my cousin's baby boy Tyler, he was born early at 23wks and weighed only 1.5lbs at birth. He's 2.5yrs old and doing great now! No signs of CP or any problems. He truly is a miracle baby
God hears our prayers!

Praying she can make to at least 35 weeks! Hopefully she's on strict bedrest and meds to prevent contractions?

Not strict bed rest, but lots of rest. Just had one dose of brethine in the hospital and the contractions stopped.
Fetal fibronectin was negative, which is good, showing a low risk of delivering in the next two weeks.
She has a Dr appt Tuesday and is supposed to call sooner if any problems.

I remember brethine I don't like the idea that she's not on strict bedrest, but that's me.

The Dr didn't feel that strict bedrest was necessary at this time because there were no changes in her cervix, the fetal fibronectin was negative and the contractions stopped with one dose of brethine and did not return.
If the contractions would return, or if she had any dilation or effacement of the cervix, she would be put on bedrest.
Her urine looked a little junky, so they are doing a culture to see if that is the problem.

Well that's a relief! Maybe they were Braxton-Hicks contractions?
Glad to hear they're doing a urine culture.

Thanks very much beaches and momindeep!
Update: urine culture negative. They think she was a little dehydrated and over did it the day before on a shopping trip.
She will avoid that now and concentrate on resting so the babies will have lots of time to mature.
I appreciate everyone's prayers so much!
Please keep praying since you never know how early twins might come.

I'd have that urine rechecked in a few days if it looked "junky". But again, that's just me
I'm glad that she'll concentrate on resting. I'm old-fashioned when it comes to pregnancy (maybe b/c I had preemies of my own).
I don't think it's a good idea to be running around excessively, standing on your feet too long or doing exercises when pregnant. You have one shot at getting that baby/babies delivered to term.

She has a Dr appt today.
I told her she should lie down often on her side to take the pressure/gravity off of her cervix.
They were texting me from the hospital on Sat and sending me photos of the fetal monitoring strip because I am an RN and have worked in maternity...lol.
