We had to have our dog put to sleep yesterday. He had heart failure due to heart worms.
Turns out the heartworm medicine we gave him was no good. The co. who makes it had a recall on it and we got a bad batch.
I never missed a dose of that stupid medicine and the dang heartworms still got my dog.
We got him 13 years ago for my son who was going through a tough time. He was being bullied in school.
He was the best dog.
RIP Buddy

So sorry linky for you loss I know how hard it is to go through. I hope the wonderful memories you have will help you through this difficult time.
I had not heard of any recalls on heartworm med, is it a popular brand? Like you I never miss a month, now this has me concerned.

So sorry linky. I really do know how hard it is. I used to write about kris on here...he was more partner than pet. I lost him 3 yrs ago to old age. We all grieve differently...but for me its still hard. Im just so sorry...

I am so sorry. Dogs have a special place in our heart and life. Especially for your son- the doggie was there during a time of need.
I had a dachshund growing up. He was my best friend. Hopefully when your son is old like me his memories of Buddy will be sweet and not so sad.

linky123, I am so sorry for the loss of your friend Buddy. It is very sad about the medication recall.
Maybe down the road you could plant a tree or bush in his honor. I have done this when I've lost a loved one and it brings peace and joy to watch it flourish.
