**Update 1/22*

Dear friends,

Sorry I disappeared for awhile. I've kinda been in survival mode.

Mom and I spent the holidays trying to recover from the flu while trying to pack up the house at the same time. It was a horrible experience!

Then on Jan 3rd we moved in the pouring rain. We're still trying to get settled but things are finally getting better.

I feel utterly drained and can hardly think of my own name right now because of all that's been going on. My thyroid is still low, my iron is low and I needed to get iron infusions back in nov. but didn't have time or transportations. My GI problems have gotten so out of control, I'm now being referred to a university hospital doc out of state for evaluation.

My IVIG had to get re-authorized so I missed a couple infusions. This is my most important treatment, without it I totally crash so missing that was not good. I finally got my first dose yesterday, praise God!

Missing my IVIG hasn't helped me fight Lyme and Co's or the chronic sinus infection that's been plaguing me for months. Babesia seems to really be flaring right now despite our best treatment efforts.

I was really hoping that this move would help my mom and I feel better once we got settled in. I know that it is too soon for us to say since we've not even been here a month and things have been so hectic with all involved with the move, holidays, and family.

Mom has been having a hard time getting her insurance to authorize her testing to make sure that the cancer has returned. Ideally she is supposed to have a whole body CT scan every 3mo and a specialized blood test, that's it. Well they don't even want to approve an abdominal CT!

She missed the fall tests and her doctors really fought for her to have the tests a couple weeks ago. They only approved an abdominal CT and the blood test.

The abdominal CT revealed a suspicious spot near where the doctor removed the tumor from her pancreas!!! The CT cannot tell anything more about the tumor so ideally she needs more testing like a PET scan but that is super expensive.

Her doctor told her for now that they are going to wait and watch it! OMG, that is not a good idea to me. Like we should wait and watch a potential cancer grow! Why don't we see what this suspicious spot is?

Mom has an appt with her Oncologist in early Feb. She's going to try to get the doctor to order further testing to evaluate the suspicious spot to make sure that it is not cancer. Because if it is, we want/need it treated ASAP.

I just CAN'T lose my mom!

Dear friends, will you please pray with me for my mom?

I know I haven't been here much at all for awhile. I've been so sick I can hardly function. I miss you all and think of you all the time. I want to get better so that I can get back into some of the things that I used to do that I miss out on right now.

My mom is just so important to me. All we have is each other. I'm still kinda in shock that this has popped up so soon. Reality hasn't hit yet.

Will you please pray with me that this spot turns out to be benign? That God will bless my mom and heal her body. That she will remain healthy, cancer free and free of any other life threatening diseases.

Will you also pray right now that mom will get the testing that she needs soon to find out what the spot is so that it can be treated/ removed if necessary? That is the only way to treat her type of cancer as chemo does not work.

Thank you friends. I worry so much about her. I love her so much.

Thank you for understanding.

Hi dear sammy,

It is good to hear from you.

I'm so sorry that you and your mom are going through so much.

I am praying for both of you and for all that you have asked for.

May God shine His face on you both, strengthen and comfort you, provide all that you need, and give you peace.

Please keep in touch as you are able.

Hugs!!

I couldn't find your thread last night! I saw it earlier in the day and then it disappeared. I guess my eyes aren't so great.

Sammy... We will continue to pray for you and your mom. I'm so sorry things are not any better yet. Do keep the faith that the cancer will not come back. There is a very good chance that she is OK!

May God envelope you with his love and peace.

Sammy, I'm a newbie here, but your post caught my eye. I'm sorry that you and your mom have been going through this kind of suffering!

I can relate somewhat because my own mom was diagnosed with bone cancer several years ago, and I cared for her in her last days with hospice help.

It was a traumatic and very busy time. It was also a time of peaceful transition that I feel blessed to have partaken. I feel privileged to have been able to do that for her because she was so dear to me. It brings tears to my eyes remembering this.

If you're in a similar situation, then I pray for God's supernatural strength for you in caring for your mother. I was running on fumes the last two months of my mother's life because her care took so much time and effort. It was so worth it, though.

I hope that your mom's spot turned out to be benign. If the cancer came back, however, then I hope that you can get hospice if she's been diagnosed as terminal. Hospice was so helpful for us.
