I saw a wonderful photo yesterday of the Blue-Footed Booby and thought that would be a delightful name. Just a suggestion. But it may not impart the level of dignity you deserve or wish to portray.

Hi Keebler I didn't mean the name on here. Time Warner cable has a internet service called roadrunner.
It is a faster internet company.
I pay $19.95 a month for a .072 of a megabite Roadrunner has a 2 megabite connection for $14.95 a month. Over twice as fast.

Well, birds aside, if you find a cheap and fast internet service, I would be pleased to dump uverse, which is now $62 a month for internet alone, no tv or phone.

Hi Don I still have the big Dodge Cummins diesel 4x4.
I rebuilt the trans for the third time. I had it done one time. They screwed it up.
I was getting bad rebuilt torque convertors. but the trans shop screwed it up on their own.
It now has 6 pinion gears,a billet torque converter,billet servo,billet pump stator, new input shaft,kevlar band,new overdrive piston housing,all seals are new ,red clutches,new overdrive piston,valve body upgrades,new shift solinoids,and a spin on secondary filter.
I think I kicked its butt.

Just Don- Possibly harder to imagine than Maddog driving a Plymouth Roadrunner- may be me driving one?
That was the 1st car I bought. A brand new 1969 - red with black racing stripes- 440/4 on the floor. Did 1/4 mile in under 14 seconds. Chrome wheels, nice manifold too- and I believe the tires had red stripes instead of white walls (?). I think you would have liked it.
The first time my sister drove it she accidently plowed down a neighbors mailbox- too much power. She didn't drive it after that.
It was a beauty, for sure. Too much fun!!
Oh, and at the same time I was helping the boys change out an engine from a 55 Chevy Bel Air to give it more power- my all time favorite car. Doing that work gave me the basics for working on my own cars, saving me lots of money later on.
Forget this electronic/computer everything car they make now. Give me a mopar.

Very cool, Tincup! My husband wanted a Roadrunner and his dad bought him a Duster instead. He wasn't too happy about that!!
We had a '55 Bel Air when I was a kid. I really loved that car!

WOW! The race car we played with going to local tracks was a Duster! Like your hubby- I liked my Roadrunner better, but wasn't willing to let them use it on the track.
What color was your Bel Air? I know I will melt when I hear, no matter the color. THAT is my car.

My brother in law had a black 69 roadrunner 383 magnum with real working hood scoops. It had a 5.13 positrack rear end.
Talk about a hole shot.
I had a 69 GTO that flew.
Cars were more fun back then.
I had a 68 firebird with a olds engine in it.

Maddog- I agree with you on the ``fun`` of the muscle cars compared to today.
The late Pete Seeger (who also fought a battle with Lyme disease) summed up how things were changing very nicely in this song, which I`ve always been fond of. It does`t specify cars, but this posting about cars made me think about this song.

Nice car (roadrunner)! Positrack was pretty new back then, wasn`t it?
GTOs were hot when you had yours. Beautiful cars! And it makes me laugh remembering how fast they were. Blow you off the road fast!
And the sad part- I traded in the Roadrunner for a brand new off the showroom floor Firebird Formula 400, 4 on the floor, really sharp car (yeah- I was in love and gave it all up back then).
BUT... when I picked it up it I drove it across the street to the inspection station so I could go get tags- literally across the street from the dealer- and it failed inspection. Brand new car!!! Four different problems! I should have driven right straight back to the dealer, but NO, I had faith things would get better.
For the next six months that car was broken down and in the shop more than it was on the road. It was so bad I finally had to give it back to the dealer (lemon laws).
Then it was a motorcycle, followed by a new van that I changed up to a camping van after the baby arrived.

- We ended up driving that Duster for about 5-6 yrs when we got married (also dated in that car!) and then it got handed down to 3 more kids.. His brother and sisters!!
Our Bel Air was green and white. MELT now!

I had a black Mustang 5.0 in the early 90's. When I would go to the grocery store and the kids took my groceries to the car (yes, they did that in Texas) .. the kids would just DROOL over it!

That baby 302 cubic inch could make tremendous noise just sucking pure AIR.
Revving in the red zone you could hear the carb sucking further than the exhaust was talking.
Wish I could re-create that aspect
Those are high buck cars now days.
And before you ask Tinny,,,ALL my driving was from the front seat,,,,jeesh how else???

Finally got back to this thread. I remember wanting a charger for some reason but i ended up with a blue 58 VW...with the little back window. I guess that doesnt reallt belong here tho

Hahahaha, the whole roadrunner/booby thing was awesome! When I saw that first post, I was thinking the Roadrunner car! My brother had one of those, back in the day.
I think he wrecked it, but I'm not sure. Have to ask the hubby -- he knew my brother and used to salivate over that car.

Ok Just Don, you got me. The pic is too small for me to tell what you have there. Its a looker, but what is it?
It appears not to be a convertible, even with the color changes. Too long, sleek and not the right rear for a Mustang.
Those wheels aren't standard on this model.
Can`t see the front or back end, so limited here. My best guess would be a Plymouth, maybe a Dodge Challenger?
Do tell.
The more I look at it, the nicer it is.
As for the gas station, oh yes. When a full tank of gas was about $3.00 and you'd get a free glass or steak knife with a fill-up. Now a gallon is the same price as a fill-up use to be!
But, and I hope I did`t laugh too hard and hurt your feelings, my cousin had VW`s - a long line of different ones over the years- with the first one just like yours- and she loved them.
Well, she loved them until the day we were coming in from horseback riding and her car spooked the horse for some reason- and we had just been riding on city streets with no problem- and the horse bolted then ran right into her car, throwing her over the top of the car to the ground.
The horse was fine, but she was pretty banged up. She never really bragged about her VW`s after that.
Stupid story, I know, but you got me laughing and that is what popped out.

1958 was the first year for the "square window" in the back and while it lacks the impact of an Oval window, it retains a lot of the early charm and at a greatly reduced price. If this car was one year older, the price could almost double!

Tincup -- he said he wrecked it, then parted it out. Sad. He never took me for a ride in it either, but a year or two later I met a young sailor who owned one and was willing to oblige me! O.k. so I was a wild child, what can say....it was the mid-'70's....
My brother was hard on cars. (His name was Steve, btw. Just sayin'). He wrecked several, almost killing a young passenger once, a guy we went to school with. My parents had a red VW bug that he broke the shifting forks on, of all things. It sat for a couple years until I got married to my first husband at 17 (well hey, I wasn't so wild after that).
He and his dad, a mechanic, tried welding the shifting forks back together because to buy new ones required buying a whole kit for $80. In 1979, on one income of only $6.50/hr., $80 was way too much -- especially since we were saving for a "honeymoon" (read: cheap, cheap, road trip).
From then on, the forks would from time to time freak out and the car would get stuck in 2nd gear. This happened on our honeymoon near Steamboat Springs, CO....a long way from home. Twice.
But small world. My husband now was only one year ahead of me in school, knew my older brother and they had some of the same friends, worked for our neighbor in his oil co. and sometimes delivered my folks heating oil (after I was married), but we never met until '96. As a teen I'd seen him around and thought he was a hottie, though!
He owned a Challenger, too. And A Charger I think.
Ah, good times. Or really BAD, depending on how you look at 'em!

1st- if taking a ride in a car with a sailor (keeping in mind we lived down the road from the Naval Academy) just to have fun is considered to be ``wild``... well, uh, never mind.
We will crown you LN`s official wild child. (That is assuming, of course, TuTu and Just Don were telling the truth about doing all their dating in the front seat.) HA!
You have had some bad luck with vehicles in your family. And on your honeymoon too! Ugh!!!!
It is interesting to read your story about how things came around after all those years. Made me smile! And knowing he was a hottie, hey, even better!
Our memories, and always hoping they never totally leave us, are precious. Can be calming and put us in a better mood.

I believe the answer to the question is whether the blue feet are .76 megabyte or 2 megabyte and why the cost of shoes for those aforementioned feet at 14.95 and get 2 1/2 times more shoe.
At least that is what I've come to understand after reading the thread.
Serious answer :
Time warner sells 2 megabits per second not bytes. If your plan is currently .76 megabytes it would be 3 times faster than time warner. make sure your current plan is bytes. If it is bytes stay with your current plan. if it's megabits go with time warner, and it will work with LN.
