Lymenet friends,
My daughter and I got back from seeing her doctors yesterday and her LLMD released her from having to come and see him anymore.
Last year when we went down he mentioned that he felt comfortable releasing her from seeing him, but my daughter and I were still a bit freaked out about not touching base with him at least once a year.
My daughter has been enjoying good health for awhile now, (a few years) but as everyone here knows...it is difficult to trust wellness.
But I am ready to let it go now...after 15 years.

Surprise...don't fret thinking another decade is your future...it just happened that way for us...by the time we got the doctors my daughter has now, she was very very sick...and even tho things are still difficult concerning Lyme...LLMDs have come a long way in understanding the disease since we were first started.

I cried tears of joy when I read that!
So many of us know the horror of having our children go through so much year after year, myself included.
We haven't seen our LLMD in a few months. My kids, knock on wood, are so much better. One has been a full time college student while managing to work part time for the past two semesters. The other is finishing the school year at school! for the first time in years.
Congrats to you on a job well done! I know how rough the journey has been. And may God continue to bless your daughter with good health.

Yes, "momindeep", many of us HAVE walked a mile in your shoes so we understand all you have gone through. You couldn't have said it better that your daughter traveled a long road and she is one of your heroes. I second that and feel the same way about my dear son.
May only blessings (good health most certainly among them) come your way from now on for you, your daughter and family. It's about time!!

I am not looking for my kids to gain anything from the horror they've heen through. If/when they find the positive, that's up to them. As for me, there has been no positive going through this hell, except for coming out of the other side of it.
