Popped up on my news feed: One of the largest human experiments in history' was conducted on unsuspecting residents of San Francisco

"Over the next 20 years, the military would conduct 239 "germ-warfare" tests over populated areas, according to news reports from the 1970s (after the secret tests had been revealed) in The New York Times, The Washington Post, Associated Press, and other publications (via Lexis-Nexis), and also detailed in congressional testimony from the 1970s."

This particular test was fog and bacteria. Makes you wonder about ticks as biological vectors.

It's terrible - I just found out about it too. One man died and others got sick.

Tick research has been done since 1909 by at least six countries. The tick researcher who released ticks into the Black Forest in Germany during WWII was brought over here to head up the Plum Island lab.
