How to eat 1 Tablespoon of coconut oil?

Please I have no gallbladder.
How do you do this without making your gut sick?

Thanks!

It may be fine since it's a very good oil. Organic is best and be sure it's "fresh" - if it tastes old - if any oil ever tastes "old" do not use it.

Start with 1/4 tsp. in with a meal. See how that goes. If well, after a week, increase slowly. Probably best with some food, as is true of any of the food categories. They play well better with others than alone.

Five Important Tips if You've Had Gallstones or Your Gallbladder Removed

By Dr. Joseph Mercola with Rachael Droege - April 10, 2004

Excerpt:

. . . What to do if You've had Your Gallbladder Removed

High-quality fats--especially omega-3 fats -- are essential for good health and if you don't have a gallbladder you will have an impaired ability to absorb them. Trying to digest fat without bile is like trying to wash greasy dishes without soap--it doesn't work very well.

If your gallbladder is removed then you need to compensate by providing an increased level of fat digestive enzymes (lipase) to compensate for this.

Unless you receive a gallbladder transplant, which is unlikely, then you'll need to continue taking the enzymes for the rest of your life to ensure that fats can be absorbed and used by the body for their many important functions. . . .

Would have been nice had your doctor given you such detail when they removed the gallbladder. What did they suggest so that you could best absorb essential fatty acids?

You can use it as a moisturizer and/or massage oil. Absorb it that way rather than through the gut. I can't seem to stomach it anymore, or stomach using it on food anymore, and can't imagine eating it as ice cream. UGH! PLEASE!!!

Randibear: digestive enzymes (lipase) may change that for you so that healthy oils could help your cells. Our nerve tissues REQUIRE good fats to help protect / support the myelin that lyme can destroy. When myelin is attacked, all kinds of nerve / body pain can be made so much worse.

This could have something to do with the intensity of your current neck issues.

It would be good to ask a LL ND about this, or other methods for your individual issues. I have heard there is a good LL ND in your area.

In case you missed this above:
