Does anyone take DHEA 5 mg? I was told by a doctor some time ago that I should take it every day, but only 5 mg.

I was apprehensive but wondering how safe it was to take. Far as I know, I was never tested for it. I believe it is a steroid, so wondering....

I take 25 mg DHEA daily, but I get my hormones tested and doses of them adjusted accordingly.

I'm not sure, but from what I understand, energy and a balance of hormones. I think the older we get, the less DHEA we have. I think that's one of the depletions due to age.

I'm unsure about all of this and not sure if I should be taking 5 mg or not ...

I take a 5 mg DHEA dose, along with pregnenolone, some salt, and some C in the mornings to help support my adrenals/HPA axis. I also use a little bio-identical progesterone cream at night for the same reason.

DHEA is primarily, for me, testosterone. I go to zero testosterone if I don't take it. Being a woman, I know we don't need a lot, but we need some.

If I take it daily it goes too high and I become reallly greasy and gross. So make sure you have your levels checked for testosterone on a regular basis.
