When I was researching What Could Possibly Be Wrong with me I probably visited every universe of possible diseases known to man based on my symptoms. When I did my spectracell nutrient test the only two things that were really low were carnitine and a-lipoic acid. Vitamin C was borderline low.
I started taking l-carnitine and imagined I felt a little better, and then just the other day I read about something that strips carnitine out of the muscle.
Scurvy!!!!
But I also read somewhere else that certain antibiotics can also strip nutrients (incl folate, which I'm sure you all know about) including vitamin c.
I wonder if some people who have muscle wasting from antibiotics aren't low on Vitamin C, which the body needs more of anyway to fight off bacteria and viruses.
Just a thought. You don't need to take it to "bowel tolerance" if you think you're low, just make sure to get a little extra. Taking megadoses of C when you're low on C can cause "rebound Scurvy."
