I've been taking a ton of supplements for months. Not only do I not think they're doing anything, a couple days ago my body just said no to them. I'm looking at a bowlful of capsules and thinking...I just can't do it.
Salvia Ashwaghanda transfer factor berberine ecgc ALCAR A-lipoic acid real food vitamin Neem GotuKola
Really that's it but I just can't do it today and I couldn't do it yesterday either. I feel SO toxic.

- There's some redundancy in these. For instance, Salvia and Gotu Kola are very similar in many ways - as are Salvia and Ashwagandha
Of those three, only one should be needed.
so are Neem and Berberine. Choose one. [Neem can be harder on the stomach, just good to know.]
There is no need to take so many, IMO and they can be counteracting (or at least causing the body more work sorting through all their various food properties) at the same time.
I don't know what ecgc and ALCAR are, so those are not in my consideration.
And, some of these may interact with certain Rx. It is best to have guidance by an LL ND (naturopathic doctor) or someone with similar professional training in herbal medicine as well as being ILADS-minded. If you don't have access to such, books/articles by them should help.

- Though not at all about lyme, this is one of the best reference resources on my bookshelf that has wonderful chapters, many graciously available through their website.

I would be careful with all of that... you are already pumped full of abx .. so anything more is overload.

I think you're right. Adding buhner to abx is supposedly more effective but nothing is said about this other stuff. I think my liver is objecting.

Have you considered finding a naturopath to work with?

The LLMD works in an integrative center and she's the one who prescribed the lomatium. There are naturopaths on site but honestly a trip to their office is like a trip to the moon for me.

Keebler, I have to disagree. Ashwagandha is wonderful for the adrenals, any type of cortisol, stress or even thyroid issues.
Whereas Salvia is specifically indicated in Babesia. Buhner thinks it's vital to protect the spleen.
According to Buhner ...
Ashwagandha is one of the *main herbs in the Buhner Babesia protocol*. Its uses(among other things): - immune tonic and modulator - stress protective, - nerve sedative - neuroprotector - collagenase inhibitor - reliable tonic sedative for insomniac conditions - antifatigue - anti-inflammatory - reduces leukopenia - significantly increases thyroid production of T3 and T4 - increases hemoglobin levels - etc., etc.
Salvia miltiorrhiza is ALSO one of the *main herbs used in the Buhner Babesia protocol*, specifically ... - for liver and spleen enlargement - for normalizing cytokine disregulation - as a potent anticoagulant and vascular normalizer - as a generalized full-body tonic
Buhner says the spleen absolutely has to be protected in Babesia, and Salvia does this.
It actually does a lot more, this is just the CliffsNotes version.
I don't think the herbs are the problem here; the pharmaceuticals are.
Jordana, while taking pharmaceuticals I felt very, very toxic as well.
Having said that, I wouldn't combine all your pharmaceuticals with the herbs. Its too much ...

Thanks Nula.
My pharma doses are pretty average for Lyme but I do take natural killers like houttoynia and crypto, plus all the supps up there.
It agree it might just be too much.

If you are tired of swallowing pills, you might consider rubbing essential oils on your body, particularly the bottoms of your feet, but go slowly with small dosages and build up. they are powerful. Use them for a few days, then go off of them for a few days. I have had stron herxes.
Just google essential oils for lyme.
I'm so sick of pills, too. I almost choke/gag sometimes.
But don't give up your antibiotic routine too soon. that is so important too.
And I do really like Buhner. i think he has good values.

I decided to just stay with binders and some herbal detoxers for now. The abx are packing a hell of a punch. I thought I could do both herbal and pharma killers but realized as soon as I bumped up my tinidazole dose that I was just toast.
