Can you jiggle, can you wiggle? Do you dance?

Can you do reps at the gym, stroll by the beach?

Do you rake, shovel snow, do laundry or vacuum the house?

All of these and more count for exercise. Come join our thread.

After a quick trip to the library, I walked about 20 minutes. Really struggled even with my trekking poles. Nasty toxins rearing their ugly head again.

Am settling in to read and watch some football.

Have one more load of laundry to do. Am waiting until my legs are not feeling like lead, so I can get down the stairs.

Have a great week! [Smile]

Hi Hiker
I don't always post on this thread but read it faithfully and love it. I walked for half hour today and we decorated our tree. Also did some laundry.

I am wiped out-resting before starting a new week. Hope it's a good one for you all!

I ran/walked 1.5mi.

Since getting my gallbladder out amd going on Buhner for about 6mo, I actually have energy. I was riding bikes, but not as much fun in the cold. My record on bike is about 30mi about 1 month ago. I had not done that in 2.5 years.

I hope someone reads this and has hope they will get back to life as it was.

Hi, Bid and Dogs!! Welcome!

I didn't do any exercise today. Church all morning, then lunch out (free from a gift card!), then a nap and now just vegging out.

Hubby's show was canceled today .. I have no idea why....
but I was already planning to stay home. I'm tired!

I have another busy week ahead.

Sunday-Thanks Hiker for getting us going this week! Welcome Dogs and Bid to the thread!

Today woke up early and drove my Mom and 3 of her friends about 20 miles south of Atlanta to a social cultural get together. I dropped the ladies off and went Christmas shopping for about 4 hours and didn't buy a thing!

So about 3 hours of shopping around. I took a much needed lunch and footsies break!

Dogs-Way to go on the exercise and good to see you again!

Bid-Doing good! Does take quite a while for the body to get used to activity again. I've fallen off the healthy eating and exercise wagon and might need a crane to hoist me back up there!

TuTu-Nothing better than free lunch! Glad you're resting up for next week. Got tons to do?

Well, glad I'm more coherent today and not so tired but my feet are still hurting. I hope when I go back to work I can find a desk job.

See everyone tomorrow!

Welcome Bid and Dogs!

I got home from work after sunset, so am not going out to exercise in the 40 mph winds. Temps dropping quickly.

Hope to get to the rec center after work sometime this week to walk inside, but seems like I have so many papers to grade.

Monday-Picked up a little bit of wind blown trash in the yard and ran some errands today. So that's it for exercise.

Hiker-Grading papers should count as exercise!

See everyone tomorrow!

Ran errands today and then went to a dinner with the leader of our Bible study group. They have an annual dinner and we all brought gifts for the local pregnancy center. (They give them to the girls for Christmas)

Thankfully, I was able to eat most of the food. I took a piece of pie and could NOT figure out what the ingredients were. I took one bite and decided to leave it alone. I have no idea what that was supposed to be! (I could tell it had citrus or citric acid with one bite.)

Graded more papers today and have tests to grade tomorrow. Writing hand is getting exercise, but that is about the only body part.

All the leaves I raked this weekend blew back into the yard with the high winds. It is if I never raked or worse. Neighbors leaves came in, too. [cussing]

Getting to chilly to rake and leave pick up will soon stop by the city. Oh well, I least I got exercise raking this fall.

Lp--Where are you? How are you and Etta?
Tutu--Glad you could enjoy most of your dinner out.

AK--How's the studying going?

Tutu--Glad you could enjoy most of your dinner out.

Hey gang!

Went to Bible study this morning at church and then on to the city to check on a car my hubby wants to buy.

It's a Toyota Highlander .. lots of miles on it but it seems to be in really good shape. Even has new brakes. We will probably buy it. We really hate our Toyota 4Runner that we have sunk money into.

A Highlander is what I wanted the first time!

Going to see show #1 with my friend from Texas. She hasn't seen the Christmas show before. I know she will love it.

I better get outta here!

Tuesday-Worked out in the yard for about 1 1/2 to 2 hours picking up sticks and popping weeds.

Hiker-I finished the materials last week but my plan is too reread all 3 class materials Thursday and Friday and go over my notes Sunday and Monday then take the test Tuesday morning.

I'm wondering about Kayak too. Hope all is OK.

TuTu-The Highlander sounds nice! I have a Toyota/Scion and haven't had any problems with it yet.....knock on wood! It's a 2006 and has about 120,000 miles on it. Should keep on running as long as I maintain it.

Well, off to hit the hay! See everyone tomorrow!

Its so nice to see new ppl here. Lots of us 'love dogs' here. Please post more often!

And bid3...welcome! I'm looking forward to getting to know you. This thread is a big part of my support now

So...yeah...had no idea how long I was gone. Right now I am waiting for np to call for phone appt. I thought it was at 1. Hope he calls soon. I'm seeing so many medical docs but enjoy talking to him so much more

If he calls I leave and be back later

So. About 2 weeks ago diverticulitis sx came back. A few days after thanksgiving...but I really didn't celebrate much. Was alone. Had a disturbing call from kids and at first thought maybe stress brought attack on. I never went to ER. Its so crazy there now. I put myself on bland diet and some sx changed but didn't improve. Many communication screw ups with gi...who I do like....but office is nuts. He finally saw me Monday...did scope and said its not gi problem. Even tho sx are all bm related. He said it could be ibs. Nurse said just eat whatever you can tolerate

Have gyn check problem ovary

And have primary check why crp is 104. But it could be nothing

I feel like I'm an old sqaw sent out to woods to die

Gym called me back after hours and wants To see me so they are trying to fit me in.

Primary also has major office problems but finally after 3 calls I have appt tomorrow morning at 830. I can't usually walk then and I have no confidence in that office but I will be good girl and see what they say

Old why np hasn't called yet

Thru this I have walked Etta quite a few times. Mostly I am in wc or walker.

I also found mold on the bed frame built for van so washed it and ozoned van and it has been on my kitchen table for a week getting sealed and painted

Whew doc just called....its so nice when a doc talks the same language....I really do like him. He's an np. But I just found out his partner is an integrative doc.

So...he's very concerned about crp....when gi doc is saying it could be nothing

Np said he never saw crp so high except cancer or tick born disease!

Ok. So that is over. He's testing thyroid right and will probably get me on armour

He's putting me on Lyme herbs. Hope I can do it. I've never tolerated cats claw

He wants me to see oncologist and cardiologist about crp

Im tired. Etta needs attention

You guys keep exercising with your leaves and shopping trips

Thanks for being here. ALL of you

Wednesday-Only about 2:30 and so far I browned some oxtails and put potatoes, carrots, etc in crockpot for stew. First time I've used oxtails and hoping it comes out great.

Also did a load of laundry, got banana bread in oven and worked outside for over an hour. Dug and pulled out old plastic expandable drain pipe and metal gutter. Took off old metal ties on fence and bent areas that were messed up from city workers.

Redid the insulated part on my outside faucet covers and will put them on shortly.

A productive day!

Thanks TuTu for the encouragement!

Kayak-My sister bought me that book about the old 'squaws' being left behind to die. Two Old Women written by an Alaskan native and one I love to read for encouragement. We're not out of the game yet!

Later my friends!

lp--You have a lot going on and maybe too many doctors weighing in. Makes it complicated.

Ak--Oxtails? Not sure I know what those are. You are getting your exercise in outside, for sure.

Snow flurries as I drove home from work. Too dark to walk and have a bit of an upset stomach. So many kids out ill.

Back tomorrow!

I already whined to tutu in a text. I felt paralyzed when I came out of primary office.

She said things like my thyroid is fine cuz tsh is fine and she wanted me on a statin and I should eat good food like peanut butter and allergist and veggies

She got sarcastic when I said I couldn't eat peanut butter and a lot of healthy veggies and was careful with fruit cuz of yeast

But she did a few things. Ordered liver ultrasound cuz I never got it done for gi doc. Ordered ovary ultrasound...I'm not sure why but she got grouchy when in said gyn was following that

She gave me prescription for compression stockings that I paid cash for yesterday. And insurance says they will reimburse me if I send correct paperwork

I just distracted myself by boxing up 2 boxes to return to Amazon cuz they have that burning toxin on them

And I ordered these little outside ornaments for my baby birch tree....I'm limited with how much decorating in can do. With plow guy and deep snow. But these only cost 7.00 so I thought it was worth it. I hope I can make them look pretty. Etta can't wait to go out

####I already took her for half hour walk#####
So good for me!

My brothers back started leaking spinal fluid near scar so he is supposed to have surgery to fix it tomorrow

His name is mark if you have time for prayers. He is a good good man .

Ok...I've had a bit of a rest. If all goes well with my returns I made $80.00. Yay!

I guess I will start the stupid statin. She said if I have pain or weakness to stop it

LP--How will you know if statin causes pain or weakness since those are some of your regular symptoms. I don't think I will go near a statin, but I am not walking in your shoes.

So glad you walked Etta and can decorate your tree outside.

Did my organic meat grocery shopping today while some items were on sale. That is my exercise.

I can't believe how toxic I have felt the past few weeks. Makes me think about going back to energy healer.

Man in my neighborhood with Lyme went to Hansa Center in Kansas and said it really helped him. Am waiting to see long term effects of the machine he bought there and the supplements. He has no physical symptoms--just brain fog and depression and he said it is all gone now.

The toxic effects on my physical body are getting to me. I keep reminding myself to trust in God and take one day at a time, but I feel frustrated and tired right now.

Tomorrow is Friday, but an early day as we have a breakfast where we hand out some awards to students and I need to go extra early to get ready for class and then present an award.

My parents sent me flannel sheets from LLBean for Christmas and they have already arrived. Bet I put them on the bed this weekend. [Big Grin]

I guess I won't repeat my comment on statins. I already told kayak what I thought. [Big Grin]

Hiker .. What are your symptoms when you feel "toxic?"

Did your friend buy a Beamer?

Well... we bought the car. It drives really nicely. They had to ozone the scent that they used when they "cleaned it up." So stupid to put nasty toxic fragrance in a car.

It helped, but it still stinks. At least it didn't make me sick like it did the day I drove it.

It's snowing over a LARGE area of Texas... about 1/4 or 1/3 of the state maybe. Many many miles of snow! Snowing way west of San Antonio, Austin, Big Bend, College Station .. and headed to Victoria and Houston. I doubt Houston will get very much and it's too warm there today.

One lady on FB said she is a Native Texan and had never seen snow. I don't know how old she is.

Got a busy day tomorrow. I have so much to do around the house.

OH... they had to cancel the show tonight because the singer is sick and can't sing. I hope they didn't have a bunch of buses scheduled. That's a lot of money lost!

Hi everybody! No exercise at all today! Started rereading my course materials at 9:00 and got in about 5 1/2 hours of reading. 2 more chapters to go on one. Then 2 more courses to go. I'm kinda behind schedule but hoping I can power through it by tomorrow evening.

Hiker-I'm not sure if those were ox tails or cow tails. The package said ox so maybe they were. Very similar to ribs in texture and made a very tasty stew. Josh wouldn't come over for dinner because he said it was the mental image in his head that turned him off. Hope you can find out what's making you toxic. I feel off quite a bit and chock it up to food, drinks or stress. Oh and BTW, I'm jealous of your new sheets!

Kayak-I always take what my GP says with a grain of salt. Now I'm going through a low income clinic and I'm getting what I pay for. You know your body and how it reacts to things better than they do. I tried statins twice. This last time made my lower legs swell and my feet hurt so bad I could hardly walk. Told my cardio about it and he said to try it again but I didn't because duh....I need to be able to walk. And thanks for the update on your brother Mark. Leaking spinal fluid doesn't sound good so will be praying for him.

TuTu-I was wondering about Hiker's symptoms too. Are you getting your house ready for Christmas? I still need to do some polishing, vacuuming and mopping before Christmas but it'll have to wait until after my tests. Those are chores I don't mind putting off. Now that it's cooler I prefer to do outside work but soon it might be too cold. Oh and congrats on the new ride!

See you all tomorrow!

My toxic symptoms are high ear pressure, myoclonic jerks, and my legs feel so heavy that I cannot walk well.

Seems like when I get exposed to germs I start to get sick but never get the full blown cold or flu. Then feel toxic, then have a few good days, start sniffling again and then feel toxic.

I have only been sick with an illness other than Lyme twice since 2003.

I think my immune system is in overdrive. I also feel like my body has gotten so used to taking detox meds like nanozeolite that it relies on them.

But who knows and what doctor is going to be able to help me?

I talked to our new part time P.E. teacher at work. He had Lyme Disease and after 2.5 years of antibiotics still has pain and fatigue and some ear problems. Really nice guy. He is also a pastor and is planting a new church in town.

Kids were really good at school today and it's Friday. Hurrah!

Went to get regular groceries today after work.

Chance of snow tonight, but probably not too much accumulation.

Wow .. snow all across Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Georgia!! (and more?)

My brother said it was still snowing in Brownsville, TX and in Mexico at noon today!! It's been so fun to see the snow pics .. much of South Texas got anywhere from 3-6 inches of snow.

That's more snow than we got all last winter! Seriously!

They got about an inch of snow in Houston too.

I managed to get some more clothes donated and some taken to the consignment shop.

hiker .. let me check on the heavy legs thing. Someone mentioned that symptom last week. I don't know what ideas were thrown out on that.

Kayak was at the beach today, enjoying the weather there.

Hoping to get more work taken care of this evening.

I spent an hour and a half on the phone, trying to find out the cost of my most expensive medicine. I think it will be OK. It was going to go up, but a guy at Medicare told me to ask for an appeal on the "tier" .. the new company had it listed as a 5th tier, instead of tier 2 like my old company.

So .. that is in the works as we speak.

AK .. Not sure I've had ox tails either. I think I've seen them in the store before.

Yes, I want those sheets too! However, I would probably get too hot~!

Friday-Just finished some more reading and still have 8-9 chapters to go. What's scaring me is I don't remember alot of the material from the 13 credit hour class. I went over it a couple weeks ago if that. My retention is so poor!

Ak--Hang in there and keep studying. Is the test online or do you have to go somewhere to take it? Are there options for retakes (although I am confident you will not need that)

Lp said 3-5 inches of heavy snow coming her way.

I did my usual Saturday morning cook-a-thon to freeze meals for the week. Did one load of laundry and will do more tomorrow.

Went to a local coffee shop and enjoyed some decaf. Was hoping for their peppermint mocha flavor that they have this time of year, but was disappointed.

Read a bit and left when the elderly retired guys at the table near me could not have a conversation without the "F" word in every sentence.

Stopped by the library. Did not get out for my intended walk due to high winds.

Hi guys. I just read everything but might not remember.
1. A K .... Hang in. There. Do your best. When is test? Almost all the time I taught at the hard job with the crazy kids and2 he commute I had to take at least 3 credits a semester. It was hard on top of everything else. But my hubs didn't make much money or have benefits and the more credits I got the more $ I got so I did it. Lost a lot of sleep and family time for that

I just prioritized it when I had to and got thru it. It will be over soon. Do what you have to do

I feel like I am toxic when inreact to stuff I don't usually react to. Then after my Epsom bath the things don't bother me as much

Otherwise I can't tell

I hope you can figure out what helps hiker

Well tute...congrats on new car.

I did buy the statin...I haven't taken it yet. The last time (and only time) I took one was lipitor lowest dose. I had refused it for 3 yrs. Took it one month ended up in walker all the time. Not just intermittent like now. I had no idea it could be the statin. I went to 2 orthopedist...including the one who did my knees. For3-4 months no one could figure out what was going on. I searched internet a long time and then found info about statins ...I stopped the statin that night and 12 hours later I walked without wc

I have pain andcweakness and intermittently need walker or canes. I will know its the statin if I need walker 24/7

I still have a lot of other stuff going on too. Scary stuff. Very high crp that can be heart diabetes or cancer according to web md. But my np said he has seen that test result with ppl with tick borne disease too

I could not afford the artemesia he wanted me to take but I did order the Buhner herbs He wanted and they cover a lot. I still have new balance babs drops. I couldn't take cuz they put me in bed but I guess in Will try them again super low dose

I also have red yeast rice he gave me for lipids. So maybe I 'll take that instead of statin

It never worked in past.

How high are your lipids? Mine have been this high for 20 yrs. Total is 350. Jul is good at 56. Ldl and triglycerides about 250

Docs totally freak out. But no matter what I do they don't change

My dad died of heart attack. I get the stress echo every 3 yrs and its always ok

Idk

But I'm having a very hard time taking care of myself and experimenting with drugs that might make me sicker doesn't seem like the right thing to do

Anyway... I still plan to make a chart. So many docs telling me what to do. None of them communicate. I am going To do the best I can

Primary wanted me on Metamucil. Gi said that in the past. So I took half a dose and had cramps and watery diahrhea for 24 hrs

I DONT HAVE TIME FOR THIS!

So...I'm gonna try to do what I can

I am eating better. All meat and eggs is from local organic farm. Veggies could be too...but MCAS kinda cramps my style with them

Anyway...today I got ready for snow outside. Cooked g f muffins to freeze and made an egg casserole. Organic sausage...onions and apple

Nite

We got 4 inches of snow today. Son was happy to go play in the snow.

I raked up 6 wheelbarrow loads of leaves before the snow started laying.

Did some sewing for Christmas today.

Hubby is complaining the snow hurts..... do any of you ache more than usual when its going to rain or snow?

Exactly, kayak.

MannaMe .. glad you got snow. Let's hope it melts soon! HA!

Didn't get much done today except choir rehearsal and a meeting afterward. We had lunch at Dairy Queen and my stomach has been a mess every since. I'm sure it was the salad dressing. UGH.

I have a MCAS support group Christmas Party tomorrow afternoon and I wonder if I'll be able to eat. We are meeting at a restaurant. We're going to do that game where you number the gifts and then go one at a time to choose one. Then the next person can take a new gift or YOUR gift. It's always fun to do these. [Smile]

Hubby also has a show tomorrow night. I don't know if the star of the show is doing better or not. We'll find out soon.

Good night, everyone! [hi]

Saturday-Luncheon at the Chinese buffet and more studying. Finished reading earlier than I thought, by 6:00 p.m., so done with that and will hit my notes tomorrow and Monday.

TuTu-Your Christmas party sounds fun! Down here they call that gift game 'Dirty Santa'. I thought it was 'Chinese Christmas', but either way it'll liven things up.

Hiker-The test is online but has to be proctored so I'm good to go at the local tech school. I used to have staff at the local library proctor my exams but they no longer provide that service. Local university was too expensive so was fortunate to only pay $25 for 2 1/2 hours of unlimited testing. I've got 3 to take and really shouldn't have scheduled them all on the same day but am trying to save money. Oh and if I fail I'll try to retake immediately if I can.

Kayak-My test is scheduled for Tuesday at 9:00. The plan is to head straight to the bar afterwards, for one Long Island iced tea, regardless if I pass or fail. Oh and my cholesterol and triglycerides is up there. Really need to clean up my diet since I can't take statins. When I ate very little to no meat my numbers were normal. Course could be MCAD raising my levels.

MannaMe-I was planning on doing a small sewing project for Christmas too. I have a purple velour sweater and 2 yellow t-shirts that used to belong to my sister. I wanted to sew a keepsake for my niece and nephew from those items. I was thinking of a heart shaped pillow but am still not sure. What's your project?

See everyone tomorrow!

[hi]

aklnwf - I'm making a dress & a slip for both of my girls, and a jeans quilt for my son.

One dress is all sewed together - just needs a zipper and hemmed. The other one is cut out. Both slips are cut.

And I'm cutting patches from the jeans in between doing other things. Cutting jeans is hard on the hand after a while!

Oh boy. Something is different with me and I think it's more than the shoulder. I waited til heat of day...2pm....and went out to shovel. I hoped it would have melted...and it so but there was still 4 inches of very heavy wet snow. I cleared behind van and front patio. I can't lift at all so used push shovel. Then did front path around to back door. I got to the door but count do patio

It was 15 min and I thought I would die. I'm lying down for an hour. Need to do back patio before it freezes. 2 more storms this week. Tue and Fri

I'm resting half hour more. I'm going to have to find above let. My heart is going crazy. When I get up I 'll check bp

I called the girls down the street but no reply. Wow. Something is really different

Kayak .. I don't see how you are going to be able to shovel snow all winter. Go to Plan B.

Keep a close check on your heart!

AK .. Best of luck with the test!!

Hiker .. Glad you enjoyed the short TV program today. (she texted me)

I went to the MCAS party and it was great. I didn't like my gift, but oh well. It's a small journal. I have about 6 of them .. all empty. [Big Grin] [Big Grin]

The game was fun though. We were there about 2 1/2 hours.

Have a great evening, everyone! I'm at home trying to catch up with things. Hubby is at the show.
