I am on medical leave and was denied continued disability. I am going through the appeal process and the insurance company has requested i meet with one of their doctors. I need a lawyer for this appeal process. Are there any recommendations/referrals for a disability lawyer? preferably in the bay area?

Scroll down to "Attorneys" - maybe you can find one there.
Btw - I know you are new to Lymenet, but you should not use your real name, because this is a public forum with all sorts of people on it. Read this link about it:
To remove your name from the signature line, click on "Edit Profile" under Lymenet Flash in the top middle section of the Lymenet page.
Click on "Edit Profile" on the left-hand side, scroll down to "Profile Fields" then down to "Signature". Make your changes, then click "Update Profile".
You would have to contact one of the moderators to ask how to change your username.

I went through this when I went from STD to LTD. The insurance company first required me to do an "Independent Medical Exam" which was a joke. It was their doctor. I could write so much about what I went through but 2 suggestions
1) Make sure you are not seen doing anything that they can use against you. They are spying and following you. Close your blinds.
2) You might want to consider having someone else communicate with them. You are too sick to do it. Once I had my husband do this, they stopped calling me.

be careful because there also are a lot of scammers that will ask for your money without providing their lawyers' services. When you find a lawyer, ask for its advocate license, look through his last cases, and only after that, you will understand if it is worth spending your money on his services or not. Good luck to you, and hope everything will be ok.

It's very important to find one who deals with Lyme patients and understands all the complexities instead of just picking a good injury lawyer.

Rachel's request for a lawyer was posted in 2019. I hope she is doing okay by now.
