Just wondering if this includes keeping a topic open only to two people who post there. It looks as though anyone disagreeing with those two are removed and the topic is closed and then opened only for the two people who agree with each other. Weird!
From Lymenet rules for Moderators:
What's my job as a Moderator?
Your job is to assist the forum Administrators. Your main duties are listed below:
* Enforce the rules of the LymeNet Flash as documented in the User Agreement and in the LymeNet Terms.

* Move, close, delete and edit Topics, when appropriate.

* Edit or delete individual posts, when appropriate.

* Alert the Admin's to inappropriate posts and/or members who chronically break the Rules.

* Help mediate any arguments between members and be available to answer general questions from them.

* Keep conversations flowing in your assigned Forum.

What is an 'objectionable post?'
The LymeNet Flash - User Agreement
The LymeNet Flash - Terms

An objectionable post is one that is knowingly false and/or defamatory, inaccurate, abusive, vulgar, hateful, harassing, obscene, profane, sexually oriented, threatening, invasive of a person's privacy, or otherwise in violation of any law.

The Moderator has the power to allow more - or less - leeway when he or she deems it appropriate.
Entire Topics can be closed, moved or even deleted, individual posts can be edited or deleted, members can be banned.

Ann, not just weird but it is wrong for a moderator to unlock a thread just so she can post and then lock it again so no one else can.

Hope this is resolved soon.

The moderator in question has given so much to Lymenet and helped so many people but I disagree with her about locking and unlocking the thread for her own use.

Lymetoo was concerned about divisiveness. The thread got reopened per the webmaster. No rules broken in LN T&C.

We may have differing opinions in the thread, but please keep it civil!

Thank you, Robin. From what Jenifer had told me, I did what I was supposed to do.

I appreciate your vote of confidence.

I'm just wondering how MADDOG is doing... since it was his post that has been locked and I can no longer ask there.

Go the directory, Melanie, and type in Maddog. That will take you his posts. Then you can private message him.

To be clear on the off topic thread, a moderator is not allowed to lock the thread and open it so so she or he can post their viewpoint but no one else can and then relock it.

That is why the thread is now open again in Off Topic, so that anyone can put in comments politely.

Although I see the politeness has already gone out the window on that particular thread.
