Welcome to the exercise thread. [woohoo]

Here we encourage each other to get up and move about.

Are you swimming, cleaning, baking, grocery shopping, walking? Almost anything counts or just tell us about your day.

Have a great week! [hi]

hi I've been able to do some cleaning and organizing in my home's

crazy dusty hairs all over the place mess. I've been worker with a

kind organizer. I have had a very awful day. My son hates being

in our house because it reminds him of constant sickness. And when I have felt like I could do something with my boys it seemed that

my my husband would get jealous if he wasn't able to go. I wish that

he would have Been supported and happy for me. I am extremely

depressed and anxious and have been looking everywhere for my

clonazepam and can't find that anywhere. thank you for this topic

and being open to simply ask about our day.

Watched the National Cathedral Church service. I liked the priest giving the sermon today. Love our pastor, but he does ramble. lol

Did a load of laundry.

Did my knee exercises and feet exercises.

Did a wee bit of weeding outside.

Noticed we have the invasion of the Japanese beetles. They will devour the leaves on my red bud, crab apple and hydrangeas, so I resorted to violence and sprayed the trees and flowers. Normally would hate to put insecticide outside but hate to see the plants decimated.

Called mom and talked to for a long time. She is declining with her short term memory rapidly and it really makes me sad.

So, called my BFF for a "pick me up" conversation.

Made some chicken salad.

Plan on watching the TV and reading tonight.

Busy week ahead with lots of appointments.

Slept late this morning.

Listened to church services.

Wrote a letter.

Took a walk down to the orchard and garden and around the pond.

Picked a handful of berries to eat. A few raspberries, wineberries, and blackberries.

Checked the keets food and water.

Want to give my sis-in-law a call and gab awhile this evening.

Supper was "see what you can scrounge up" Daughter's idea, but she warned that nobody may eat her popsicles! I found cheese & pretzels and pickled beets. Hubby made a grilled cheese sandwich with turkey added. Sonny was still peering in the fridge....

Planned a small BBQ picnic but they had to cancel because her elderly father was not doing well. Hope it’s nothing serious.

Went on coffee run and my car window rolled 1/2 down with crumpled noise. It will not go up and it’s suppose to rain tomorrow.
I had to duck tape it. Sounds expensive.

Cleaned kitty litter boxes (always wear a mask) then took out the garbage.

Was outside ALL day. It was just so nice outside. Read a book on the lounge chair.

Went swimming and did 50 laps.
After my exercises, I floated on my back and stared at the most magnificent blue clear sky up to Heaven. 🌏

Washed a load of throw rugs and hung them outside to dry.

Still haven’t had dinner as I ate 1/2 of a watermelon and 1/2 of cantaloupe, plus 6 bottles of waters while I was on pool deck, lol.

Welcome, Anissa. Glad you could join us.

Cleaning and organizing is definitely movement and not something I like doing.

I am sorry your husband and son aren’t supportive.

I am sure the clonazepam will turn up—probably in an unlikely spot.

Praying tomorrow is better.

Watered the flowers this morning. As soon as I finished we got a quick rain shower.

Did my balance and shoulder exercises.

Went to the ENT. Both ear tubes are still in. Waited longer in the waiting room then the entire appointment took, but happy not to need new tubes right now.

Worked on "mom" stuff again. Trying to get her to the right exercise class, to the nurse on certain days to get the Band-Aid put on her toe etc. She will make no attempt to try and figure any of this out for herself. Probably not capable anymore but I sometimes feel like I am talking to a preschooler with a PhD. Love my mom dearly but she exasperates me!

Hopefully I will drive over there later this week or next week.

Did my feet exercises.

Burgers for dinner with zucchini and tossed salad.

hiker53- I haven’t had rain in a long time, tonight hopefully.
My Mom had full mental capabilities to the end but she refused to do any exercises. I would sneak in her exercises when she was standing at the kitchen sink or sitting at the kitchen table. It’s hard.

Went for mammo and dexascan. 2 hours, knew not to go on a Monday.

But. . .

My cat woke me up @ 5am by throwing up 12 inches from my face, ugh. She got into dog rawhide chewys. So I washed sheets, mattress cover and comforter, 3 separate loads.

Went to car shop but they couldn’t get to see why my window refuses to go up so I got an appointment in the morning.

Gassed up the car and stopped for coffee.

Picked up my prescriptions.

Cut up a melon. Ate 1/2 with turkey and pickles sandwich.

Sitting on porch enjoying a breeze and watching Tik Tok videos, my favorite.

Baking day, 33 loaves of bread for the store and 3 for us! We had one for supper along with vegetable beef soup and cheese. For dessert, chocolate chip cookies.

Did laundry today and hung it out to dry. Brought it in again before supper. Still needs to be folded.

Weeded one flowerbed. Laying wet newspaper down and then spreading fresh pine sawdust on top.

Hubby sawed logs this morning, again this afternoon and he went out again after supper.

We had a very nice, sunny, low humidity day.

The dog was barking at something in the grass near the pond..... a snake! I couldn't see it close enough to tell what kind it was. Gonna tell the men to keep the grass cut low.

Watered the flowers this evening.

That's a lot of bread, manna!! wow

Sorry to hear about car troubles, bonnie. The only window working perfectly is my driver's side window. There is something wrong with the controls on the driver's side. The other windows work if you use THOSE controls.

Hiker .. I know the frustration of dementia. My father in law had Alzheimer's. My parents had some dementia with their issues of strokes and Parkinson's. Hang in there!

I went to a brief meeting with OCC folks. We are planning a luncheon in about two weeks. It's for churches who don't usually pack shoeboxes.

I ran some errands and then came home for a nap. Hey, why not?

Tomorrow I have an appointment with my PCP. I pray he is not retiring. I hope to find out.

Tutu--Hope your appointment with your PCP went well. I had mine today, too. I am still educating her about Lyme etc. Blood tests tomorrow.

Manna--I assume you have poisonous snakes in your area and I would cut the grass sooo low!

BB--Hope you get the car window fixed.

Did my knee exercises and feet exercises this afternoon.

My appointment with the physical therapy assistant was canceled today. She personally texted me and said that she was being tested for Covid. Here we go again since I just saw her late last week. I will wait till she tells me the results before I head home to mom’s.

I just went through this with my regular physical therapist a few weeks ago, but wasn’t alerted that I had been exposed. The PT assistant and I have become friends, so it was nice of her to text me.

Dealt with ATT and DirectTV and got nowhere. Mine phone plan went up and it has never done that before. I call DirectTV every month to see if they have a way to lower my bill.

I have marigolds on 3 sides of the house, so I went around and cut off the dead blooms to keep them blooming.

Eating dinner a little early tonight since I have to fast for 12 hours. Hope to get to the lab pretty early in the morning.

Was cloudy early, then turned sunny. Washed a load and hung it out. After lunch a sudden thunder storm came up and it poured! Not much thunderstorm here. We were glad for some rain again.

Roof leaked again in Hubby's office. Need to get it fixed. Trying to decide what to do... His office is in what used to be a porch that was built in. Do we start over? Or just put a new roof on?

Hubby sawed more logs up today.

I finished weeding, laying wet newspaper and covered it with sawdust, in the flowerbed around the firepit area. Also did the same to the ever bearing strawberry plants. Then covered them with milk crates to keep the guineas from eating the berries as fast as they start ripening!

Started sewing a dress while it rained. Maybe I can get it finished tonight yet, if I go work at it again.

Sonny worked at manufacturing parts for the dirt bike he's fixing it up. Cut a piece of metal and made the part he needed.

We did have a copperhead last year. Also saw some garter snakes. Read somewhere to keep bird feeders away from the house. They draw mice to eat the dropped seeds which draws the snakes to eat mice.

Saw there are some buds on the one moonflower! Daughters lilies are blooming and smell so good! We have several other fragrant flowers planted and are waiting impatiently for them to start blooming.

Ak--You will appreciate the money from the extra hours, I am sure!

Got up early for my blood tests and was at the lab by 7:15. Already have the results back and I knew my cholesterol was going to be high this time and it was. Too many chips and too much ice cream. I will get it back down. This has happened one time before years ago. I need more cardio exercise, for sure.

Watered the flowers and trimmed around my hostas.

Went grocery shopping and skipped the chip aisle and ice cream aisle! (and this was before I had the lab results--lol)

Made a pot of spaghetti sauce and froze it in 3 containers.

Did my balance exercises and shoulder exercises.

Filled the car with gas.

Called mom. Debating on when to go visit her. She was exposed to Covid a few days ago and I want to make sure she is well before I head over there. Rapid test was negative but I don't always trust just one test. Pray she stays well.

Tried to take a short nap, but couldn't sleep.

Did my feet exercises.

Lovely day.

Sonny helped me set up the one outside cage for the keets and helped put them out. We had to chase them into a smaller crate and carry that out to the outside crates.

I was trying to get a wire cage that was setting outside on top of something and accidently and unkowningly lifted the cage too high that it touched the electric shocking fence for the goats. It works!! I jumped and nearly fell. WOW! Haven't gotten shocked like that in years. Not since I was at home on the farm. Hubby thinks I should be charged up for awhile! lol

Weeded and laid wet newspaper and sawdust on a couple more flowerbeds. Starting to look nice!

Weeded most of my pepper plants and almost the one side of one row of tomatoes. It was time for lunch and getting too hot to finish. Never did get back down to the garden again.

Laid a couple more pieces of cardboard on the sweet potato hills.

Cut off some of the tea that is starting to flower.

My moonflower has the first blossom open tonight!

Gabbed with my sis-in-law.

Daughter did some mowing and weeding this afternoon.

Hubby was running the sawmill. And took an afternoon nap.

Sonny is burning trash this evening.

I had Bible study this morning.

Did my knee exercises.

Talked a long time with my brother.

Went to PT for my feet. She added some more exercises to my regimen. Need to ice my feet tonight. I never really thought about the muscles in my feet until I got plantar fasciitis and the exercises are not easy at all. Simple but not easy.

Stopped at the library on the way home to get a few books. Since I completed the summer reading program I earned a baseball cap which will be good for my outdoor activities. Decided on that prize instead of a coupon for rock climbing since my feet and shoulders wouldn’t like that activity

I am also entered in drawings for 2 restaurants, a floral shop, and a shop that deals with hiking, swimming, and skiing. I love their reading programs and while a chance at a prize is nice I just feel good reading all kinds of books.

Off to fix some dinner and….read!

WhAT A GORGEOUS DAY 🌞

hiker-I wish my library offered gifts!

MannaMe- Thank God you’re ok! That had to be scary. By the way, what is a keet?

I did 2 sets of 50 laps in the pool today as I was in and out all day,
No leg kicking because of my back.
Got a nice tan going 😎

My old boss stopped by to check in on me, said I look great. He was a really great boss and friend, I was a really great employee and friend until I got sick. I wish I could go back to work but I’m not dependable.

Walked the dog.
Brushed all the animals outside on lounge chair., didn’t want me to stop.
Watered all my plants. Sunflowers are over 6 feet tall.

Made ribeye on the grill with broccoli. I was hungry.

Oh ouch, Manna!! I haven't felt an electric fence shock since I was a kid!

Hiker .. it's nice that your library does that for adults!

Good job on the laps, BTB!

Hang in there, AK .. we miss you!!

I went to exercise today and did 14 laps, 10 min on the NuStep and 11 on the bike thingy. lol. Plus the usual.

Made a quick trip to the store and to Kohl's. Found some shorts. I have one pair like them and they are cool and comfy.

It's hot here, but we'll get a few days respite, then even hotter next week.

See ya! [hi]

One more day! Work 8-12 then Mom and I are heading an hour north to the dealership where we bought the Honda for a spare key they found. Guess it has to be programmed with the car.

Plan on taking her out to eat afterwards.

Hiker I had PT today and had a rotator cuff exercise added. We're going slow so only 15 two times a day of five exercises. 3 for the shoulder blade and 2 for the rotator cuff. Also I do home PT for the SI joint for me and Mom. Seriously thinking about going back to the gym. Hope your Mom is OK.

Ouchie Manna! I've been shocked once by an electric fence as a kid. It wasn't fun. My moonflowers haven't bloomed yet. I planted 3 in an obviously to small pot.

BB I love swimming but with just one good working arm it's challenging. Grilled steak sounds delicious!

TuTu you are a workout machine! I need to bite the bullet and head back to the gym. I miss the sauna the most.

Need to find something to read and get some shut eye. Night gang!

Baking day again. Got an early start and finished up earlier also.

Finished putting sawdust around the rose bushes.

Started pulling weeds under one of the big trees near the driveway so I can plants some flowers. Discovered some little poison ivy plants. Took the ground shovel to dig them out and haul them away.

Did a couple loads of wash and hung them out later afternoon. They will stay out overnight.

Hubby sawed more lumber today.

Some of the children went to get Sam's Club cards and check out a Co-op to see about getting feed for the birds and animals cheaper.

The boys at home did some mowing and worked at fixing up a vehicle.

Two of the kids got out of the meadow gain today. Sonny chased them back in. He marveled that they would chance getting shocked by the fence.

BB, a keet is a baby guinea. They are birds a little bigger than a chicken. They are very good at eating ticks and other bugs. We let them roam freely during the day and pen them up at night. They aren't as destructive as chickens are in gardens & flowerbed, though they do like to make dust baths in nice loose soil.

Washed the bathroom carpets.

Gabbed with my sis-in-law for awhile.

I'm tired, time for bed! Good night!

Ak--Hope you got the spare key. Always good to have one.

Manna--Does the sawdust keep the weeds down around the roses or do something else? I am always looking for gardening tips.

BB--Is your pool heated? Just wondering how long it is open in the fall in case I want to take a dip? [Big Grin]

I did my balance exercises, shoulder exercises and feet exercises.

Worked on Bible study.

Talked to mom for quite a while, then my brother and then gabbed for ages with my BFF.

Rainy day, so a pretty good day to sit in the recliner and talk on the phone.

I did do some research on recumbent exercise bikes. One would be easier on my knees than my current exercise bike and be good in the winter when I am not outside as much.

I got my old exercise bike at a used sports equipment shop along with a rowing machine and both together were less than $50. Sadly, that shop went out of business.

However, I have to get a recumbent bike sized for my short height and need to get one that is fairly easy to assemble (and not expensive).

I have a delicious fresh cantaloupe and know that will be part of dinner. Have to scrounge up some other fixings!

World Track and Field Championships begin tonight and run for a week or more. Track was my main sport in high school and I ran road races for years until Lyme got me. Anyway, I will be glued to the TV for that.

I did a new thing. I showed up at cardiac rehab for exercise at 7:30 this morning! I'm allowed to do a third visit at that time.

I'll try to go every Friday if I can.

So I did the usual amount. Then I ran some errands and was home by 9 or so.

I washed clothes, washed sheets, etc. Did this and that and was crashed out by 2:30.

Now to see what kind of trouble I can get into tonight. LOL.

I waited for my car window to be fixed for 2 hours.
It was brutal on my back.

I have done nothing today except chase pain away.
Frozen gel pack has given some relief. No way I’m taking an epsom salt bath in 80* plus temps.

I did wash 3 pillows and pillowcases as last night was bad too, ugh.

hiker- pool isn’t heated but I have solar cover that keeps pool water between 80* - 90*. (hot day). I prefer 84*.

Hiker, I'm using the saw dust as mulch. The newspaper helps keep the weeds down longer. The sawdust is too lightweight and those tough weeds/grass are soon poking there heads up through.

At our other place we used mushroom soil from the mushroom houses. We could get a tractor trailer load for around $300. It lasted about 2 years and we used it in the garden & flowerbeds! We don't have it around here.

Transplanted a few hostas, planted some impatiens and marigolds. I put marigolds in among the beans in the garden, in hopes of persuading the bugs to find somewhere else to go.

Laid more cardboard in the sweet potato patch. Have it almost covered.

Got the washing all finished, dried and brought in. Still need to fold it.

Hubby mowed the weeds on the hill. Found a bunch of glass to clean up. Came with a 5 gallon bucket almost full.

Daughter and Sonny were mowing and using the weed eater this afternoon. Looks much better when you can get all the corners trimmed up again.

The neighbor asked for Hubby & the boys to come help unload his trailer this evening. So they went off on the 4 wheelers & dirt bike. Came back with a few more treasures. A little hoe/rake to use in the garden, some light bulbs, and heavy glass globes that covered them.

Hubby used one of the globes to cover the opening in the ground to the first yellow jacket nest in the ground that he found this summer. Supposed to keep them from getting out and when the sun heats them up they 'cook'.

Sorted out and put away the trays and pots we used to grow our plants.

Planted some seeds for fall crops - broccoli & cauliflower. Also stuck a dozen apple seeds in pots. We'll see if they grow.

BB--Hope the window is fixed now, but sorry for your back pain.

Tutu--Way to go on the early morning exercise. I hate getting up early.

I did 3 loads of laundry. Had a lot of towels. Put the clean sheets and mattress cover back on the bed after I flipped the mattress.

Cleaned the bathroom and around the kitchen.

Worked on Bible study.

Did my feet exercises.

Went to Dollar General to get a birthday card.

So humid out today. Suspect we will get rain tonight or tomorrow. Not a pleasant day to work outside, so aside from wiping down the patio chairs on the deck I was inside most of the day.

More track and field on TV tonight and, of course, more books to read.

Wrote in my journal today, chronic fatigue and pain.

Girlfriend came over for coffee this morning, we enjoy our chats on the porch,

Forced myself to go for groceries. Usually a 30 minute in and out, took me over 1 hour.

Tried to nap, once again, no dice.

Forced myself into pool. Started off on raft and just worked my arms but then got in 20 laps. Got back on raft.

Brushed all animals again, so much fur, they felt better and took nap.

Bought Mediterranean salmon and grilled it. Took 3 bites and threw it in the garbage, I wanted pizza but unable to drive due to tiredness.

Hope something good is on tv tonight.

Woke up to rain this morning. Drizzled on and off this morning, then sunshine this afternoon & evening. Still a few sprinkles every now and then.

Gave the keets food and water and moved their pens. Need to keep moving them so they don't kill off the grass.

Paid bills and ordered supplements.

Picked applemint, peppermint & spearmint tea and made a gallon of tea.

Folded & put away the wash.

Planted a flat of statice and the last 5 marigolds.

Took watermelon shells out to the chickens.

Filled the flour container.

Mended 3 pair of jeans. Found if I use "Ok to Wash It" glue, on the patches I cut from old jeans, they last much longer than the iron on patches you can buy.

Picked the green beans this evening. I think fresh beans will be part of our Sunday dinner tomorrow!

Sonny worked on fixing up the dirt bike.

Huby sawed up some of the scrap wood for using in our campfire. He thought we'd have enough to have a fire every night! Did someone says S'mores?

Daughter worked at cleaning today. Kitchen, including windows! So nice to see through clean windows again.
