Hi Folks,
It was almost me this time, Trek has been in in hospital 11 times since Dec. of 22.
This time he and his PCA/LPN almost sent me I was pretty shook up. 1st my issue hit w/ just Trek and me home.
I awoke feeling like I was being shocked up the spine and down legs. I couldn't catch my breath, then I realized I was shaking and headachy., and it was about 2:30 a.m.
It happened in the day time several times and then I was shaking[Like Myoclonis seizure, which I haven't had for over three years] when Treks PCA did my BP. It was a bit high but I've had worse. My Blood sugars get odd as I have Dawn Phenomenon. But its is usually more in the A.M. It was a 238,but not in the morning. Then it went to barely 110.
I passed out two different times over a couple days, thank goodness it is calming down. I had had a vomiting issue briefly in the 2nd morning of this mess. I was glad I was in my chair when I passed out.
Trek said ,one more time, and he was demanding respite care, and send me to the Hospital. He and several other Vets have had trouble getting respite care in our area, He cannot stay alone, so it was scary for all of us.
I am better but still very weak and tired, I felt like the Lyme Disease was worsening again, and most any other issue I've ever had. Probably it was the Covid reactivating and reactivating other stuff. I.m am just glad it seems to be calming down finally.
I have vertigo sometimes and it was quite bad for awhile. I feel blessed to be alive and still at home. Trek and I and his PCA were watching me closely.
This was not good, We were to celebrate our 45th Anniversary [from Nov.]and a friends 2nd wedding anniversary too. Instead I was home.we didn't get to go,But at least I avoided the hospital!!!
We were to have gone Sunday, and come home yesterday, Well at least the dogs got a little break, they came home today from 'clinic and kennel'.
Unsure what this was, but I don't want it again,or anything like it. Praying it doesn't come back or hit anyone else,OY!!!
Any ideas what hit me??? 'Cause I'm not sure, so am guessing.

I don't know Wolfie...hope it was just a bug. I had Covid and a sinus infection at the same time last year and it took me about a month to recover.
I have bouts of low blood sugar that makes me shaky and very lightheaded with vision problems.
Hope you'll be OK.

So sorry to hear Silverwolf. It must have been very scary
There are lots of viruses circulating so we must not let our guard down. Have you been around lots of others? Does Trek’s in-home PCA wear a mask while entering your home?
Do you have a covid test you can take?
May I suggest you follow up with your primary doctor? Does primary doc offer telemedicine or virtual appointments?
He will order you a Complete Blood Count (CBC) and a Complete Metabolic Panel (CMP). These will show basic body functions and how their operating.
Rest, drink lots of fluids to flush out your system and know we are thinking about you and of course Trek.

Thanks everyone for the prayers and suggestions!
I get out only rarely, last Thursday was one of my rare days. My friend took me to the Animal 'Clinic/ Kennel' to register our dogs,as they had never stayed there.
We went a few places , as I needed some clothes. And then we came home. Our friend has been having headaches and eye pain, but not 'shocks' and vomiting. Unfortunatly Trek seems to have it now w/o any 'shocky' feelings.
I had a semi recent CBC [ plus- 7 tubes of blood]. My main issue is low potassium,on going

oops. couldn't get it to continue, likely my laptop.
As to Treks PCA,he's a professional,as well as a nurse. And I am glad he was here for my last 'Pass out and Shocky event'.
I need to check in w/ my DRs. tho'. What ever it was, hope it doesn't hit us again.

Aklnwlf, I have Diabetes w/ Dawn Phenomenon, meaning the blood sugars go too low at night and then my body tries to get sugar level up,which then goes overly high by morning. It is beyond annoying.
'Bonnie, i think if it is viral,it was probably my rare day out. need to see if my Nurse Prac.' does Virtual vid' communication. I need to check in any way and it;s difficult to get respite care for Trek. Even his PCA was only allowed to help him,two hours a day. Six weeks ago The V<A decided he could have four hours, split in two parts. Too big a patient load, and not enough workers now.
Hiker and each one praying, Thanks so much!
Trek's situation is a tough one, and he cannot wear a mask, for him, it interferes w/breathing. He literally passed out last time he was wearing one. It was ruled that the mask was the issue. He has had several knee surgeries, and three ,yup three replacements [one was defective]. His legs stopped working while he was in Hospital and group home, and he is wheelchair bound now, when he can get up the energy,to get in it.
Thanks again for the tho'ts and prayers Jus Silverwolfi
