“It does not matter how slowly you go, as long as you do not stop.” – Confucius

Let's keep encouraging one another to get up and move. [woohoo]

Walking, working in the yard, resistance bands? Maybe riding the exercise bike, cleaning, sewing, shopping?

Whatever form of exercise you choose, tell us about it or just tell us about your day.

Have a great week! [hi]

Watched my local church service online. Sermon was on the very passages my Bible study is on this week. Great timing.

Did 2 loads of laundry.

Went to Dollar General to get a few cards to mail out. Sunny and in the 50’s so a good day to get out.

Called mom. Then talked with my BFF. Then chatted with another friend who lives in a nearby town. Am all talked out.

Watched the many birds that were at my feeders today. Relaxing for me.

Leftovers for dinner and then reading.

Enjoy your evening. [Smile]

Hiker thanks for getting us started for the week!

I did all my PT and arm exercises for the day but stayed on the couch watching chick flicks afterwards. Just couldn't find the motivation to trim trees and brush growing alongside the fence.

I'm not sure what's going on if it's fatigue, depression, grief or medication related. I did start a stronger dose of Doxepin for MCAS in September. Have been a bit weepy and may be from my friend passing away recently. Also had the sinus infection.

Sigh....

Well time to find something to do before bed.

Night friends!

Warmed up on my exercise bike and then did my knee, feet and shoulder exercises.

Went to chiropractor this morning. Knew with the Lyme flare up that toxins would be released. And they were. [Frown]

Called mom. Then took a nap as the toxins caused my myoclonic seizures.

Filled the safflower feeder.

My neighbor across the street and I have an agreement that if I have very little garbage I can just put it in his bin. When he puts his bin out I will do that. Otherwise my bin will just blow over in the winds tonight.

Bratwurst, tossed salad and probably steamed broccoli for dinner.

Then reading. Intriguing best seller book called First Lie Wins.

Hope you feel better Hiker. I'll have to check out that book.

Well today I forced myself to get off the couch. Did all my PT and arm exercises then went to the gym. Walked laps for 5 minutes to warm up and cool down and in between used the elliptical for 15 minutes.

From there hit the library and practiced typing for 70 minutes. I can't progress in the course because I just can't seem to type 66 WPM. I'm stuck at about 60-62 so that'll have to do.

Picked up my RX and some salad stuff and came home. Got my salad ready for dinner then went outside and worked trimming the fence line of limbs, weeds and the dreaded thorny vines for an hour and a half. Much more to go unfortunately.

Talked with Josh for awhile and think I'll call the bereavement counselor at the hospice we used for my Mom. I seem to be stuck in the grief process. Might also send a message to my GP.

Hey, at least my sinus infection is better.

That's it for the day.

AK, it might just be a combination of everything. I think in today's world, we don't allow enough time to grieve or to take time to just rest and recuperate.

Today was baking day. I only did half a batch of sourdough, so 3 less loaves than usual.

The little black kid was in the hayroack again this evening. She hopped out before I got there with the hay.

When I went out later after dark to pen everybody up, there was a guinea in the goat pen. I left it there, decided it will be safe in the barn.

Supper was meat loaf, shredded potatoes and peas.

AK—good idea to see hospice for grief counseling. Glad the sinus infection is better.

Manna—I am picturing the kid goat in the hay rack. Must be quite a sight.

Did my balance exercises this morning. Still difficult but I did better with them today than in the past few weeks.

Also did my shoulder exercises.

Cleaning gals came this morning. They are efficient.

Worked on Bible study.

Picked up my prescription this afternoon and also got chicken on sale at the grocery. Decided to wait until later in the week to do my full grocery shopping as good sales are coming up.

Beautiful sunny day in the mid70’s. Opened the windows and the sliding glass door to air out the house.

Hard to believe but by tomorrow morning the windchills will be in the single digits and the high won’t get over 30 tomorrow. Wind advisory out for tonight and tomorrow.

Chatted with my neighbor. He hadn’t heard about the solar eclipse in April and was excited to buy his 5 year old grandson solar eclipse glasses when I told him.

Filled the front feeder with sunflower seed and then sat in my recliner and listened to the birds.

Found out the public library is closing midMarch for asbestos removal. What will I do? [Eek!]

Leftovers for dinner.

Thank you Manna for the words of wisdom!

Hiker I talked with him today and he said he mailed me a pamphlet yesterday! I was so surprised and told him we're on the same page.

He encouraged me to be OK with grieving and not to let opinions make me think that there's something wrong with me because I'm not over it.

I'm really looking forward to the pamphlet.

I also sent a message to my GP for a referral to a counsellor if she thought it would help.

Anyways did my PT and arm exercises and went to Josh's at 3:30. He started a new injectable for psoriasis and one of the possible reactions was anaphylaxis. I remember when I went through IV antibiotics they provided EpiPens. He didn't have one so I took one of mine over there and he treated me to pizza.

Hoping for a good day tomorrow for all of us.

Folded the laundry from yesterday.

Wrote a letter to send with my friend's birthday card.

Paid bills.

Planted seeds in 12 milk jug greenhouses this afternoon.

Swept the barn floor.

Finished sewing the bodices of two dresses. Next is sewing pockets in the side seams of the skirts. I forgot to check if I have zippers for them.

Supper was a casserole made with leftovers, and string beans with garlic butter. Dessert was fruit salad in danish and whoopie pies. I had a pumpkin one!

Warmed up on the exercise bike for 5 minutes. Then did my knee, feet, and shoulder exercises.

Worked on Bible study and then listened to a Christian podcast.

Called mom.

Went grocery shopping. Pints of ice cream were $1.49 so I came home with a pint of chocolate fudge and a pint of pralines and cream in addition to my healthy food. Naughty me. [Big Grin]

Tried to take a nap but couldn’t sleep so called a friend and we chatted away for quite a while. Then my college buddy who lives in Florida called and more chit chat ensued.

Noticed that one of my Lenten roses is blooming with white flowers. Always blooms during Lent no matter the weather. Other Lenten rose may have died and it is my big one with purple flowers. Have had it for years.

Chicken breast for dinner with zucchini and spinach salad.

Then reading and watching Illini basketball.

I talked most of the day away myself. A friend called and we gabbed away while she drove from Memphis to Nashville. Later another friend called and the time just seemed to fly by. Before I knew it, it was dinner time.

Received some lovely encouragement from another friend via email.

It was just what I needed.

Spoke with the bereavement counselor and he said to give myself more time. My GP recommended grief counseling in a group setting so will try that too.

I finished the leftover spaghetti with bowtie noodles and had a salad. Debating on eating my last vegan PB cookie or having ice cream.

I did all my PT and arm workout and now I'm trying to figure out how to wind down for the evening. Maybe a movie or a bit of reading before bed.

Night friends!

Happy Leap day! I am wearing socks with frogs on them to honor this day. [Big Grin]

Did my balance and shoulder exercises.

Went to the dentist this morning for a cleaning. Got a good report. Hurrah!

Made another pot of spaghetti sauce and froze a lot of it. It is a favorite of mine.

Called mom.

Took a nap. I had forgotten how Lyme just tires you out. Hoping to recover quickly from this setback.

Leftovers for dinner.

Since I missed the morning session of Bible study I will attend the evening session. Each session has approximately 10 women and it doesn’t matter which session you attend, although I tend to stick with morning.

Have a good evening. [Cool]

Baking day. 31 loaves of bread and 6 dozen whoopie pies.

Got most of the laundry washed and dried, but not folded.

Late afternoon decided to move part of the chickens fence to include more of the grassy area. Tomorrow I need to add a few extra stakes where the fence is saggy. Thats a problem with fence on hillsides.

It was getting dark enough all the birds were inside so I shut the doors. The goats were very curious and wanted to 'help' with the fence until I clapped my hands and stamped my feet and they decided to go in the barn. The biggest one had to keep coming to check up on my progress though.

Oldest son checked over his car. It needs a bit of work before inspection. They like to do their own work instead of paying someone else to do it.

Hubby is trying to decide what he wants in a new computer. His is dying and he wants another one before it quits completely.

Supper was leftovers tonight.

Am hoping to sew a bit tonight before time for bed.

Hiker I want frog socks too! Such a cute idea!

Did a load of laundry and all my PT and arm exercises. Planned on applying for jobs online but a friend called and I was on the phone a couple hours.

I found out that our local university's school of music puts on free performances so their wind ensemble had one tonight so I went. I enjoyed it so much. I could feel the music through the floor and my body. I wasn't familiar with the selections, they were more modern, but I still loved it.

High school students from about 2 hours north of us attended and it was so great to see young people interested in this type of music.

All in all I'd say it was a great day!

See you all tomorrow!

AK—wind ensemble sounds great!

Snow flurries here on the first day of March.

Did my 5 minute warmup on the exercise bike and then did my knee, feet, and shoulder exercises.

Listened to the audio that goes along with my Bible study.

A friend I met in a local Lyme support group has a granddaughter playing in the high school girls state basketball tournament held here. I decided to forgo going to the game as the parking is crazy and the stimuli too much, but found it on a local TV station.

Called mom.

Went to the public library. 8 books had come in for me. Yipes.

Took a nap.

Gluten free pizza and mixed green salad for dinner. Then I better get cracking on those books. [Wink]

That's a lot of books there Hiker. Enjoy!

Did all my PT and arm exercises. Went to the gym and did my usual 5 minute warm up and cool down walking on the indoor track and 15 minutes on the recumbent bike.

Headed to the library and practiced typing for an hour and while there checked out two movies, Godzilla King of Monsters and Godzilla vs Kong. It was a total escape day.

Sauteed a sliced chicken thigh with leftover frozen turkey gravy from Thanksgiving and had that over instant potatoes and brussel sprouts on the side. Have enough for two dinners.

Josh is coming for dinner tomorrow and I have no idea what to make. I really enjoy cooking a home style meal for him because he doesn't cook much.

Was supposed to go to a friend's grandson's birthday tomorrow but kind of backed out of it. Don't want to be a wet blanket at a party. [Roll Eyes]

That's it for my day so see you guys tomorrow!

Folks, I wanted to share somethings that made a big difference in my fight with Lyme & co. For the last 13 months I've been attending water exercise classes at the Y. Three days a week and doing 1 hour in a heated pool.

How did I find energy? I've also been a hypothyroid/hashi autoimmune on top of Lyme. For 30 yrs on what they think is the wonder drug Levothyroxine (NOT). In healthy individuals this T4 med is suppose to convert in the body to T3 the energy hormone. In Lyme folks, I've seen over and over again, this is barely happening. FT3 blood testing showing low but still in the normal ranges. There's nothing normal about Lyme folks. I now take a T3 med called Liothyronine. Energy!!!!!

How did I get Lyme & co, Hashi and then 2 yrs ago when Type 1 diabetes hit (with contacting Covid) to calm down? These 3 combined caused a major war going on in my body once again. LDN (low dose naltrexone) slowly ramping up from .50 mg to my dose of 4mg. Within 2 mths I was a new woman again.

Don't give up on finding your energy levels improved!

Pam

Map1131–thanks for sharing your experience and how LDN and Liothyronine help.

And way to go on the exercise! Water exercise is great exercise and easy on the joints!

Did a load of laundry.

Struggled with my balance exercises. Toxic (herx) again.

Watched my weekly Beth Moore video.

Then watched the Illini-Wisconsin basketball game. Go Illini!

Beautiful day out with sunshine and mid60’s so walked around the yard a bit.

Worked a little more on my taxes.

Didn’t need a nap today.

Defrosted spaghetti sauce to go over rice noodles with sugar snap peas tonight.

Then reading. Have a super evening!

Washed our bedding and put it back on the bed again. Still need flannel sheets here. Was in the 20's yesterday morning.

Did two more loads of wash.

Brought a feed bag full of loose hay up to the chicken house to line the nest boxes.

Mixed the sunflower seeds and scratch grains into the chicken feed.

Talked on the phone with a friend for a long time. Then talked with her daughter for a long time also.

Put a piece of ham in the crockpot for tomorrow's lunch. Will add green beans and potatoes in the morning.

Supper was hamburgers with all the fixin's and oven baked french fries.

Hey Map1131 thanks for the info. I'll look into it and talk with my GP especially about testing T3.

Hiker sure hope you get to feeling better.

Manna don't you love cooking in a crockpot? Nothing better than coming home to the wonderful smells in the kitchen and dinner all ready to eat.

Today I did all my PT and arm exercises. Picked up 2 steak biscuits for breakfast and saved one for Josh. Cooked up a storm today! Made squash cornbread dressing, field peas with bacon and oven fried boneless, skinless chicken breasts. We both have plenty of leftovers. Josh sure appreciated all the hard work because he did the dishes!

We watched another scary movie and a couple of episodes of a show he likes and gabbed away. I sure enjoyed the company.

Well, it's late so I better get ready for bed. Night friends!
