This article describes cases of Rickettsia from Rabbit ticks in San Francisco, but rabbit ticks are found all over the country. Be sure to scroll down to see a chart with all the ticks that carry rickettsia. https://www.lymedisease.org/new-rickettsial-pathogen-calif/

Hi gang Rabbits are the best thing going for ticks.
I had them here bad when i moved in here. Rabbits and ticks. There ears were loaded with ticks of all sizes, and probably kinds of ticks also.
After offing them i would pick them up by a foot and fleas would abandon ship, jumping off everywhere.
I took out 63 sick rabbits the first year.
After that it dropped slowly each year till there were no more ticks here. Or rabbits. MADDOG

I've always suspected the summer of '99 that the dozen nymphs that got me, while mowing the grass, had something to do with the large rabbit family living under our shed.
Rickettsia comes up continually with naturopath & Biofeedback on me since '18. Rife tx just keeps it quiet.
