My diet suggested by my LLMD was different. This was back in 2004 so things have probably changed since then. They put me on a very low carb diet so no wheat, corn, rice, oats, etc.

Wonder why she cuts out xylitol. I don’t use much but have mints that have xylitol in them. Xylitol helps keep away the plague germs that cause cavities. And helps my dry mouth.
But also keep in mind everyone needs a treat now and now then such as an ice cream cone or a piece of chocolate.
We give up so much for Lyme.

hiker, I too do xylitol mints & gum for dry mouth feeling. I've noticed lately some negative comments on xylitol from some others I follow.
Don't know if you are familiar with Dr Axe, but he is my go too when ever I'm seeking opinions on this & that on the web. I found this.
