It's midOctober and the temperatures are falling and the frost is on the pumpkins.

Don't let that stop you from exercising! On this thread we encourage each other to keep moving. [woohoo]

Maybe you are raking leaves, walking, going to the gym or doing physical therapy. Perhaps you are cleaning or grocery shopping.

Whatever your exercise we would love to hear about it or just tell us about your day.

May your week be filled with the color of autumn leaves (and exercise). [hi]

I watched my church service and then the National Cathedral sermon.

Ran a load of laundry.

Was lazy the rest of the day.

Didn’t earth and winds were 35 mph.

So, read most of the afternoon.

Leftovers for dinner and then a little tv and reading.

The plan was lounging around but got a bit bored so tackled my closet packing away my smaller clothes in plastic bins with lids. Put those in my Mom's old room.

Used one side of my Mom's closet to hang more expensive purses. I had them in the cloth bags they come in but couldn't remember them all. Now I can switch purses more easily. My Mom would buy them because they were on sale but rarely used them if at all. Mine are in there too.

Have such nice clothes and hoping to lose weight. Some still have tags on them. One pair of jeans is a size 8! I bought them when I got down to 10's as added incentive. In about 4 years I gained all my weight back plus a little more.

I still have so much to do in the house. I haven't gone through everything yet and if my arm gets better I need to tackle the big shed in the backyard too. I did put a box of clothes in the trunk to take to Goodwill tomorrow.

I had leftover creamed chicken over a biscuit and pumpkin bread pudding and whipped cream for dinner. LOL, no wonder I don't fit into my clothes!

Anyways planning on vegging this evening and finding a movie to watch.

[hi]

Some went to church & the rest stayed home & watched church online.

Wrote 2 birthday letters so they are ready to send along with the cards.

Took a walk.

My irises are blooming again! And a couple of roses.

On my walk I saw the young birch tree has the bark completely eaten off the whole way around. Deer.

Had to go out the 3rd time till the goats were all in the barn & I could close the door for the night.

Manna-such weird weather to have your irises and roses blooming now. Nice autumn surprise. [Smile]

I did my 5 minute exercise bike warmup and then did my knee and feet exercises.

Filled the safflower feeder.

Unhooked the front hose. Had to get the channel lock pliers to get the hose sprayer off.

Took landscape waste to the curb.

Worked on Bible study.

After lunch my friends took me to my eye appointment. I had a prescription change as I expected but it has been 4 years since I got new lenses. The optical department tried to talk me into new frames but my old frames are fine and if I need a new pair I would buy the same style online for cheaper.

Thought my eye doctor was retiring but she will be here another year. Hurrah! Really like her and trust her.

Tried to call mom but phones still aren’t working. 5th day in a row.

Her speech therapist called to update me. Nice gal!

Chatted with my BFF.

Switched some short sleeve shirts to another closet and put the long sleeve shirts in my bedroom closet. Put away my shorts and most of my short sleeve t-shirts. Got out my long sleeve t-shirts.

Took garbage bin to the curb.

Turkey burger with tossed salad and snap peas for dinner.

Am turning on the heat for the first time tonight. Brr. My earthing season may be over. [Frown]

Manna perfect weather for walking! I love birch trees!

Hiker I tried out a recumbent bike at Goodwill today. Not bad for $20 but it has 10 levels and I had no problem with level 8 so still looking.

Stopped at Goodwill and dropped off some clothes and while there bought 4 tops and a pair of shorts I'm returning because of stains. The tops are great! One is a collarless button down with awesome pockets in the sides. It's a tad big so might have to alter the shoulder seams and hem the bottom. The other 3 are long sleeve t-shirts.

Visited my Mom's bestie who bought me some brown rice! She's so sweet!

Had the last of the leftover creamed chicken over a biscuit and cookies and milk for dessert.

Started to watch a movie but decided to call it a night.

See you all tomorrow!

Welcome, Jacki! [Smile]

Heat kicked on this morning. In the 30’s with windchill.

I did my balance and shoulder exercises.

Then went appliance shopping. Bought all new appliances for the kitchen. Fridge and dishwasher are on back order and I get the range and microwave on Friday. Hate to part with my tried and true appliances that range between 30 and 50 years old.

But the fridge is on its last legs and the dishwasher is rusting. Since I can’t get the bisque color in the fridge or dishwasher I decided to part with the range. One burner doesn’t work but other than that the stove top and oven still function well.

The salesman admitted that new appliances break down easily no matter the brand or the amount you spend, so I got all GE no frill appliances and a 5 year warranty for each except the microwave.

After lunch I rode the exercise bike for 15 minutes. AK—that recumbent bike sounds like a great deal. You just need it for cardio, right?

Went to the library and got 2 books.

Went to the credit union.

Called the nurse at mom’s nursing home to see what supplements she needs. Resident phones still aren’t working. 5th day in a row.

Ordered a grounding mat from Amazon. Will get it next week and report on it.

Leftovers for dinner and then reading.

Have a good evening!

Welcome Jacki! Anything goes on this thread as far as exercise goes. Our goal is to move.

Hiker that bike would be for cardio but considering how I haven't been working out at all lately it was too easy. So my search continues....

It's going to be cooler this week, in the 60's during the day so will have to wear jeans instead of shorts. Then next week right back up to the 80's so keeping those shorts handy. Wore shorts and a t-shirt today with a lightweight jacket but my legs were cold.

I love the cooler weather and reminds me of AK summers. Got a text from my bestie up there wishing me a happy fall. Leaves down here are still green though.

My little lady had a good day and was so happy to see me. She brightens up my day too! She had 2 therapists come today so not long after lunch she was nodding off to Everyone Loves Raymond, a TV show.

After work I ran to Ft Moore to buy tokens for Oktoberfest this weekend. Josh and I are going Saturday. While there I visited my parents grave to pay my respects.

Once home I fried a couple of eggs and put them in a salad along with croutons, cheese and ranch dressing. Had a small dark chocolate bar with a hint of chili in it for dessert.

It's only 8:00 pm and I'm already in bed! Probably look at the news online and play a bit of a computer game then will get some shut eye.

Goodnight friends!

Cool and cloudy with a few rain showers today.

An animal got in the pen with the half grown guineas and killed 5 of them. Didn't eat them. Thinking it might have been a weasel??

Got one of the boys to help figure out where it got in and fixed it up. Laid bricks down to prevent getting through.

Started trimming the raspberry bushes back. Discovered a lot of the tips of the branches that touched the ground had rooted. So pulled them out and added them to the rows farther up the hill.

Dug level pathways between the rows of raspberry plants for easier picking next year. Want to put cardboard and woodchips down to keep weeds out.

Picked the last of the pumpkins and brought them up. Hoping the last ones ripen even if I picked them early. Its supposed to give frost again and I didn't want them freezing.

Manna—sorry to hear about the guineas. I have never seen a weasel.

Went grocery shopping this morning. Ground turkey was on sale so I bought a pound, made a meatloaf and froze it.

Warmed up on the exercise bike and then did my knee and feet exercises.

Listened to morning prayer and a Christian podcast.

After lunch I went for a 25 minute walk. In the 50’s and not much wind, so a pleasant day for walk. Too cold for my tootsies to earth, though.

Took a nap.

Worked on Bible study.

Tried to call mom but her phone still isn’t working. [cussing] This is now day 6 and very unacceptable for a nursing home not to have gotten them fixed. So, I composed a polite but succinct email to the higher ups there and expressed my displeasure.

Am cooking 2 boneless pork chops. Will have one tonight with steamed green beans and tossed salad. Then repeat it tomorrow night.

So, off to cook the beans. Have a relaxing evening.

Manna sorry about guinea mayhem! Hope they'll be safe now. What do you do with your pumpkins? I found a recipe on my phone from a few years ago for a cake. I still have one can of organic pumpkin and want to bake something. I rarely use my oven in the summer because it makes my house to hot. With the cooler weather I'm ready to bake!

Hiker I bought BOGO ground turkey last week so I'll be making meatloaf soon. I always give Josh half. I still have a couple slices in the freezer. Totally ridiculous about your Mom's assisted living place! I don't understand why they don't fix them pronto! There's no excuse for a week of no phone service!

Good day with my little lady. She had a nurse visit her today. She had to use an inhaler while he was there because she had a wheezing in her upper right lobe. I didn't hear a thing but he picked it up with his stethoscope.

After work I drove to one of the early voting centers and cast my vote. From there I went to Goodwill to return the shorts and stopped in T J Maxx right next door to look around for a long sleeved black t-shirt. No luck.

Had Ramen noodles for dinner and tossed in some salad mix and frozen leftover teriyaki beef for good measure. Also added red pepper flakes. Had about 1\4 cup of pumpkin bread pudding left so had that with whipped cream.

It's 9:00 and I'm already in bed. My boss texted me and asked if I'd work 10-3 tomorrow due to a therapist coming at 2:30. Told her it was no problem.

Off to play a game on my tablet.

I like to can a bunch of the pumpkin, so its ready to use in baked goods. I make pumpkin custard more often than pumpkin pie. Just use the pie filling without a crust in a casserole dish.

Today we organized and switched containers for some of our baking and pantry items to make everything fit better in the cupboards. We like to store things in containers rather than the bags or boxes they came in. Not near as much chance of mice getting in it that way.

Rained today so nothing got done outside.

Picked 9 saffron flowers today. Yesterday there were had 88!!

Manna—I have the best pumpkin chiffon pie recipe. It uses raw eggs, though, and some are uncomfortable with that. Since I can’t eat pie crust I used to just make the filling and pour into small cups. Haven’t done that in years.

Did my balance exercises.

Then attended Bible study.

Did my shoulder exercises.

After lunch I went for a walk 25 minute walk. Nice day out! [Cool] Not warm enough to earth but maybe later this weekend.

Tried to call mom but phone not working so called receptionist at the retirement center to send mom a message. Found out the phones are working but every resident has a new number. Wonder when they were going to notify the families. [Eek!]

So, called mom and then called several of her friends to give them her new number.

Cleared out the drawer beneath the stove so when the guys bring the new one tomorrow I don’t send my good pans out with the old stove. [Big Grin]

Leftovers for dinner and the TV and reading.

Pumpkin custard it is Manna! Great idea!

Hiker have you thought of earthing shoes? They're pricey but I'm looking at a few online because I'd love to go on walks with them on. Believe it or not ants are still a problem in my yard...sigh.

Worked 10:00-3:00 today and had a great day with my little lady. She's slowly on the mend from her UTI. This Monday she turns 99! I'm buying her a gift to take on Tuesday and thinking of warmer nonskid socks and a scarf. Her room is kind of on the cooler side due to lack of vents. Originally it was the garage.

After work stopped at a friend's to return an egg carton (bought eggs from a neighbor) and was invited to stay for dinner. Enjoyed the company and chicken pot pie.

Gabbed with Josh once I got home and all bundled up and in bed ready to call it a night.

Goodnight friends!

Happy Friday! Last night I went out and got a glimpse of the A3 comet. May try again tonight. It won’t be back for 80,000 years.

AK—I looked into earthing shoes but decided they wouldn’t do me much good in the winter in the cold here. Plus I have such small feet and with plantar fasciitis and balance issues I like my sneakers. But it is a great idea.

Warmed up on the exercise bike and did my knee exercises.

Then went for a mile walk outside. Crisp but sunny this morning and I just needed a sweatshirt rather than a jacket. [Cool]

Then did my plantar fasciitis exercises.

I had two appliance deliveries today. Right after lunch the microwave got installed above the oven.

Called mom. She is so happy her landline phone is working but still says she wants a cell phone. Not happening.

Finished a novel this afternoon. Wanted to go outside and earth but wasn’t sure when the oven was being delivered and can’t see the front drive from my backyard. Next door neighbor was breaking up his old driveway and creating dust so didn’t want to sit out front.

Then the oven got delivered. I was frantically cleaning the floor and sides of the counter as soon they took out the old one while they went to the truck to get the new one. The oven hadn’t been moved in over 20 years when I had new linoleum put in. [Roll Eyes]

New dishwasher comes tomorrow. So, I will have to stay home until it is delivered. They don’t give you a time frame.

I will test out the oven tonight and bake a mini sized gluten free pizza. Will pair with tossed salad with strawberries and zucchini mixed in the spinach.

Then watching a TV show and reading a new novel.

Hiker it took me awhile to get used to our new stove too. Burners are completely different and oven temp too. All my appliances are white.

Had a killer headache last night and had to medicate with pain pills and muscle relaxers. Used my impact massager on my neck and upper back and finally went to sleep around 4:30.

Today I went grocery shopping for me and Josh. I pick up things for him at the store that has the great BOGO sales. Have them rung up separately making it easier for him to reimburse me.

Shopped at a new store called Five Below (misleading name because some things were over $5.00) and wasn't impressed at all. The smell alone was enough to get me moving quickly to glance at things. Must be alot of things made in China laced with toxic paint, materials, etc.

Went to Aldi's and got a great deal on frozen blueberries and edamame, extra sharp cheddar cheese and organic tofu.

Had a TV dinner tonight and maybe later I'll have some ice cream.

Getting another headache so took 3 generic Advil and using my impact massager again.

See you all tomorrow!

AK—sorry you are getting headaches. I tweaked my back again. [Frown]

Did my balance and shoulder exercises.

Ran a load of laundry.

Dishwasher was supposed to be delivered today but for some reason it wasn’t. Rescheduled for Monday.

I hooked the hose up again and watered my sad looking redbud tree and the crabapple plus my spirea bushes. Let the hose run for an hour on each tree. So terribly dry. Told the lawn guy not mow Monday for the third week in a row.

Some friends brought over a small fridge and several ice chests. Who knows when my new fridge will come but I wanted to be prepared and have a place to cool the food while new fridge cools down.

Chatted with a neighbor who said she had space in her extra fridge and freezer, too.

Talked to mom 4 times. She kept calling me to tell me her phone was not working. Sigh. She is so confused. She gets upset if I don’t pick up on the first ring and won’t wait to leave a message. Still demanding a cell phone.

In the low 70’s today, so I sat outside and earthed for an hour. [Cool]

Watched the first half of the Illini-Michigan game and will watch the second half after dinner (am recording it).

Meatloaf with zucchini and mixed greens salad for dinner.
