“No matter how slow you go you’re still lapping everyone on the couch.” --unknown--

Be a tortoise or be hare but come join the exercise thread. Here we encourage each other to get up and move to the best of our abilities. [woohoo]

Walking? Lifting weights? Running after escaped guineas from the pen? (like Manname) Raking? Shopping or cleaning? It all counts!

So, tell us about your daily exercise or just tell us about your day.

Have a great week! [hi]

Watched the National Cathedral Church Service online.

Ran a load of laundry.

Went across the street to the neighbors to get the freezer food they stored for me. Probably should have left it there but wanted to defrost some meat for tomorrow.

Called mom.

Went to the library and there were 6 books on hold for me. 5 of them are due in two weeks as other people have holds on them.

So, I spent a lot of the afternoon reading. And did some grounding while I was at it.

Friend who lent me mini fridge sent her husband to pick it up.

Can’t wait until the fridge people come back tomorrow and get the new fridge set up properly. I requested they send someone other than the 2 guys who came yesterday as they will need to remove the fridge and freezer doors and handles to get that clear plastic coating off. Guys yesterday were pretty lazy.

Leftovers for dinner and the TV and reading. The funny movie, “Mrs Doubtfire”, is on TV tonight and I may watch it or at least record it for later. I got a kick out of it years ago. [Big Grin]

Thanks Hiker for getting us started this week. Mrs Doubtfire is a great movie!

Well I didn't do a thing today. I had less facial and head pressure and also my appetite was better today so I'm hoping I'm finally on the mend.

Gave my boss a heads up about not feeling well and she isn't very happy about me saying I might not make it to work this week. That might change since I feel a bit better.

Josh is taking me to the dentist tomorrow for a filling and if I'm OK we plan on going to grab something to eat.

Other than that just being a couch potato and resting.

See you all tomorrow!

AK-glad you are on the mend.

Warmed up on the exercise bike and accomplished my knee and feet exercises.

Then walked for 25 minutes. Beautiful sunny day in the 50’s. [Cool]

Cut back some perennials part way to the ground. Filled up 3 big garbage cans of landscape waste and took it to the curb. Some of my dianthus is still blooming and there were a few butterflies out. Odd for November.

Took recycling to bins at the grocery store lot.

Also took the books I ordered to the charity (The Promise Council which is local) that will dole them out to needy kids at Christmas time.

Got back just in time for the refrigerator guys to come and take the doors and handles off to get rid of the clear plastic wrap. They were not happy that the delivery guys on Saturday didn’t do their job as it made an extra stop for them today.

Called mom. Then finished a novel while grounding.

Took garbage to the curb.

Turkey patty for dinner with spinach salad and broccoli. Then reading and maybe a little TV. I read the whole evening last night so just recorded Mrs. Doubtfire for later. You know how it is when you start a good book and just can’t put it down. [Wink]

Hiker I know just what you mean about good books getting a hold of you! Sometimes I'd read through the night and never regretted it.

I did OK today at my new dentist and really like him. Josh knows I have dentist phobia so I'm glad he took me and recommended such a chill dentist.

We went and ate at the country buffet and chatted for awhile back at his house.

I'm going to work tomorrow (thank you guys for the prayers) but will be wearing a mask. My boss said her son has a 'cold' and hoping it's not Covid.

My plan is to start gentle exercises and eat less in the evening starting this week. I'm the kind of person that likes a routine so will exercise after work. I prefer mornings but don't want to get up so early.

Wish me luck!

AK— Good luck on the exercise!

I did my balance and shoulder exercises. Then rode the exercise bike for almost 25 minutes.

Got my haircut this afternoon. Very chilly out compared to yesterday. Had to wear a jacket.

Finally got my biopsy results from the skin lesion on my leg. Squamous cell cancer and small surgery required in December to remove it. Thankful it isn’t melanoma again.

Leftovers for dinner and then TV and reading.

Work went great but my boss's son is sicker than just a cold. He was going to the walk-in clinic when I left.

Well my exercise today was eating pizza at my nephew's house. He invited me for dinner and I'm still here looking for something to watch on TV while he does paperwork.

Hiker 25 minutes is awesome!

Have a great evening everyone!

Went grocery shopping this morning. Loaded the cart full as I had to replenish the fridge and freezer. Was eating without replenishing for a month until I got the new fridge. Thank God for coupons. [Big Grin]

Also discovered that although the fridge is the same # of cubic feet as the old one, its freezer holds less as do the fruit and vegetable drawers. Nothing compares to the old appliances. [loco]

Warmed up on the exercise bike and did my knee and feet exercises.

Then went for a walk. Glad I walked this morning as it is pouring rain this afternoon.

Called mom.

Took a long nap.

Am reading while grounding with the mat.

Pork chop for dinner with yellow squash and mixed green salad.

Maybe some TV and a lot of reading tonight. Am reading the new Patricia Cornwell mystery.

They sure don't make things like they used to Hiker.

Work was great and my little lady and I watched the movie Christmas with the Kranks, which we both enjoyed.

Tonight I went to Wild Wings Cafe for their weekly Karaoke contest. I sure enjoyed hearing all the participants and rooted for all of them.

Tomorrow evening I'm going to a discussion given by an artist at the museum. I'm really excited about that!

My plan on eating less and working out has yet to get off the ground.

See everyone tomorrow!

AK—do you ever sing at the Karaoke?

Slept in today. Then did my balance and shoulder exercises and rode the exercise bike a little bit.

Washed the sheets and remade the bed. Got out a wool blanket and it won’t be long before I get out the flannel sheets and down comforter.

Warm bed sheets were enticing so took a nap. [Big Grin]

Called mom and then finished the Patricia Cornwell novel. Ready to start the latest Louise Penny novel called “The Grey Wolf.”

Leftovers for dinner and my usual TV and reading.

Found out i lost 24 hours. One doctor called to find out if i was ok I missed an appointment.

That was at 11:00AM My PH TH appointment was at noon. I drove 35 miles in 45 minutes including traffic lights and as detour.
Got there on time.

Any one who would have been in my pickup would have had to change their pants after that ride.

Still trying to find out where 24 hours went.

Hiker I used to sing on karaoke nights occasionally when I lived in AK. I was put on the spot last night to sing a duet but I declined. Last time I sang publicly was 2010 at church in our ladies trio group.

Absolutely loved the artist discussion at the museum given by artist Kira Nam Greene. They had appetizers, drinks, etc. but I just had water. Ate dinner beforehand with Josh at Ruby Tuesday's.

My boss text me at 7:30 this morning that I didn't have to come in today. Only 2 days this week and was a bit disappointed. The reason was my little lady didn't sleep and would be sleeping during the day.

Got some Christmas shopping done instead so that was fun.

Maddog that's very alarming that you're missing time! Are you being treated for Lyme again? When I was sick and being treated I had a lot of cognitive problems. My memory was pretty shot for awhile. Hope you find out what the heck happened!

Might try and tackle the boxwoods tomorrow. Will have to wear my tennis elbow brace but sure want to get them pruned down.

Anyways that's my plan. See everyone tomorrow!

Maddog, sounds like you went through a Time Warp.

AK—hope you didn’t overdo on the yard work, but I know it always feels good to get the jobs done.

I did my knee and feet exercises.

Cleaning lady cancelled on me again, so I did a deep clean of kitchen and bathroom. Dusting and vacuuming the rest of the house can wait.

Went for a walk. Only in the 40’s but sunny and it felt good to be outside. [Cool]

Zipped to the grocery 4 blocks away to get the 99 cent black berries. They were out when I went Wednesday and I like to mix them with my oatmeal.

Chatted with a friend for a super long time on the phone. So encouraging to talk to her. Grounded with the mat while talking. [Wink]

Called mom.

Trying a new store bought gluten free pizza tonight and will have a small tossed salad.

Then TV and reading.

Well as you all probably suspected I way overdid it again. I worked for about 3 hours without a break. Trimmed down the overgrown boxwoods and pruned the lone hydrangea.

Also dug out a stump and tried to dig out an ancient clothes line post that was rusted out. Dug at least a foot and still couldn't reach the end of all the concrete that surrounded it.

Saving that for another day.

Thank goodness after all the work a friend called and we chatted quite awhile giving me time to recover. Still had to take a hot shower and take some Advil later.

Hiker that's dirt cheap for those blackberries! I would have snapped those up. They freeze well too. I buy fresh berries if they're on sale and prep them to freeze for smoothies.

Heading to bed soon and probably play a game on my tablet.

Night gang!

Ran a load of laundry.

Did my balance and shoulder exercises.

Took a few books to the library drop off.

Baked salmon for lunch with baked potato and steamed asparagus.

Wrote a sympathy card for a friend whose son passed away. I had the son in class and my friend was the receptionist at my school. Very sad.

Called mom.

Watched the Illini football game and grounded a bit. Put the game on mute and read at the same time.

Just reading this evening. Hope you have had a good Saturday! [Smile]

Spent the day making jam and jelly. I think I've got all of it made. Should have enough for a couple years! lol

The canner is full for the last time tonight. The island is full of jars cooling. Pineapple, peach, strawberry, mint, raspberry, rhubarb, cherry, peach mango, pear, jalepeno, and I tried a peach peel jelly. Its a very pretty red color.

Now that my jelly is done, I want to get started on my sewing projects.

We've had rainy weather the past 3 or 4 days. We needed the rain. The grass is turning a lovely green.

We have visitors planning to come this month, our son-in-law to go hunting, my cousin and then my brother for Thanksgiving.

Still trying to catch Miss Piggy, the neighborhood pig. We have a dish out with food. She prefers cat & dog food over the pig feed we bought. Or the corn for the deer.

Today she was following the neighbor's cat around and when they found the food dish, they both ate out of it like good friends. I had a mix of dog food, pig food & corn in it.

Manna having enough jams and jellies for a couple of years is time well spent! Good luck with Miss Piggy.

Hiker I was talking with Josh tonight about trying fish. I haven't had seafood since 2016 when I had a reaction to shrimp or scallops. I'm going to try salmon first. I miss it so much!

I only slept about 3 hours. My bad right elbow was hurting pretty bad so ended up taking half a pain pill and muscle relaxer around 4:00 a.m. The rest of me was hurting too and finally went to sleep around 5:00 and woke up at 8:30.

Felt better today but took the same meds just awhile ago plus 3 Advil.

I did a load of laundry. Had a berry yogurt smoothie for breakfast and an avocado, cucumber and cottage cheese salad for lunch.

Met friends for a retirement party then met Josh at my house and we went to the hockey game. The hockey game was fantastic! We both loved it! We're already talking about going again.

Had a hotdog and pretzel at the game and later picked up Mexican takeout.

Planning on puttering around outside tomorrow but just to reverse the chair covers on the front porch and maybe bring in my Christmas decorations from the shed in the backyard.

See everyone tomorrow!

[hi]
